Feds blame Bill de Blasio for murder, sex assault of 92-year-old woman (01/14/2020)
It was a deadly choice to release a man on an active ICE detainer back onto the streets

Federal officials on Tuesday blamed Mayor de Blasio for a fatal sex attack on a 92-year-old Queens woman — saying his “sanctuary city” policy kept the accused killer from being held for deportation last year.

Ok, we will stop it. But, can we STOP Trump's "idiotic mindset," too?

The Covid-19 is worrisome as it is to deal with. But, what is much worse, is the way Trump is finding ways to deal with it that is so totally inane, and is causing far more confusion and worry than the virus itself.

Trump can't make up his mind from one minute to the next. His predictions go against the experts in every way. His ideas on rushing the reopening of the businesses to help rebuild the economy, which is against the advice of the experts, will only lead to more spreading of the virus and deaths.

But, none of that matters to Trump, seeing his numbers dropping he is now desperately looking for a way to save himself for re-election in November, and he thinks that rushing to open the country is more important than anything else, even the new deaths of those who will suffer.

All that matters to Trump now is winning in November. The renewed spreading of the virus and resultant deaths means nothing.

How liberals are able to turn a story about DeBlasio into a Trump whine is beyond me.

Of course we know EVERYTHING in this country, hell, the world, revolves back to Trump.....unless it is positive.

It's a balance between protecting the physical and financial lives of America, and Americans.  Our government is charged with both.

I'd say toss all of the politicians into the cheap seats, and put a bunch of scientists and economists in the same room.  Add coffee and sandwiches to see if they can find a viable way forward.  Our current elected officials sure can't.

I totally agree. The politicians are too busy thinking of ways to retaliate against each other to put any thinking into anything else. Re-election is the only thing they worry about, and they only care about the people of America when it is time to vote. No matter how high the numbers of the dead from the Covid-19 is, they could care less. As long as there are enough people left alive to vote to ensure their re-election.

What's hard is that a woman was killed due to Liberal policies.

Why direct the correction to people who see through the error. The fault is with the original nit-picker.

As a "woman", that's all you can add to the discussion?

I hope the Feds follow through with their "warning" to the cities and states who are "aiding, abetting and harboring" Illegal Aliens and are refusing to work with the Feds in the apprehension of the criminals such as Khan.

Wow that was super important.

It’s a typo. Follow the link. It says “woman” with an “a.” Feel better now?

More importantly, the title has been corrected to match the seed now, SP

Sanctuary policies are dangerous for Americans.

Democrats need to stop them.

How can anyone support a party that thinks illegal aliens are more important than US citizens' safety?

Don't people tire of hearing these stories that sanctuary policies make possible?

Don't all Americans support the Constitution and the Civil Rights laid out within?

Don't people tire of hearing these stories that sanctuary policies make possible?

Yes, absolutely.  People are tired of hearing that each person physically on US soil has the same civil rights regardless of citizenship status.

.

One might also say that many of the same people are sick and tired of the daily gun shootings in spite of, or because of their feelings about the 2nd Amendment.

What's that have to do with sanctuary policies and the effects of those policies on American citizens?

Yes, absolutely.  People are tired of hearing that each person physically on US soil has the same civil rights regardless of citizenship status.

And each person is expected to obey our laws. Including immigration laws. Come here legally, well, welcome to you. Illegally--get out.

One might also say that many of the same people are sick and tired of the daily gun shootings in spite of, or because of their feelings about the 2nd Amendment.

Well, this isn't about feelings. This about law.

If you chose to support dumbass sanctuary policies, go for it.

I simply refuse to engage in such activities that put Americans at risk needlessly, especially when the people can be deported quite easily.

Otherwise, we will continue to see stories such as this one, where illegal aliens benefit from sanctuary policies and are turned loose to terrorize yet more victims. Gee, doesn't THAT sound so smart?

Laws actually have to be enforced to work at all. Why don't you want laws enforced? Why do you want criminals set free to wreak havoc on American citizens?

To me, sanctuary policies aid and abet lawbreakers.

I simply refuse to engage in such activities that put Americans at risk needlessly,

Pray, tell us what activities you could engage in that put the rest of us at risk?

especially when the people can be deported quite easily.

Apparently that's not the case, especially if they can afford counsel.

You could start with your Congressional Rep, then your Senator and ask to get more judges hired.

Hell you could probably tweet the President directly and tell him it would lower unemployment even more.

When Jeff Sessions took over, he stripped Federal Judges and the Board of Immigration Appeals from Administratively

closing cases that ICE showed no interest in pursuing so they could move other cases through more quickly.

At the time there was a back log of 750,000 deportation cases

with 350,000 "closed" cases that ICE was instructed to "restart".  That's one million cases in the pipeline.

1,086,696 to be exact as of today

Why don't you want laws enforced?

Oh please show me where I stated that, ever...typical strawman argument.

Why do you want criminals set free to wreak havoc on American citizens?

Please...Don't put words in my mouth, it's very unbecoming.
