Former SEAL Robert O'Neill Banned From Delta Over Masks

Robert O'Neill , the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden, said he was banned from Delta on Thursday, a day after he posted a photo of himself going maskless on a flight.
"I just got banned from @Delta for posting a picture," the former SEAL turned author and Fox News regular tweeted. "Wow."

That came a day after O'Neill posted a photo of himself refusing to wear a mask on a flight. "I'm not a pussy," the former SEAL Team Six member wrote in the caption. In the background, a man wearing a Marines hat could be seen wearing a mask. Delta customers and staffers are required to wear a face mask on flights.
O'Neill eventually deleted the photo — or, his wife did, as he claimed in a subsequent tweet.

That wasn't before the New York Post reached out to Delta for comment. The airline said it was reviewing the incident.
"We're aware of this customer's tweet and are reviewing this event. All customers who don't comply with our mask-wearing requirement risk losing their ability to fly Delta in the future," a Delta rep told the Post . "Medical research tells us that wearing a mask is one of the most effective ways to reduce the COVID-19 infection rate," she added.
Hours after that Post report was published, O'Neill tweeted that he had been banned from the airline.
O'Neill also fired back at criticism of his tweet on the platform, stating that he did not mean the photo as an attack on the man in the Marines hat behind him, but as a joke.

There are also a few taunts of his critics, which includes an odd tweet that can only be described as Covid-baiting:
I shook thousands of hands and gave thousands of hugs this week. I flew on some planes. I'll be alive next week.

Delta did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

I dont think this incident enhanced his reputation, so it must have hurt it.
SEALS tend to think that they are invincible and can do anything. That's how they're trained.
Seem to recall that the powers-that-be wanted Osama alive and this guy went rogue.

Color me surprised of his actions based upon my experiences. The guy is probably close to being worn out. I've worked with SEALs back in the 1980s, and normally they were pretty quiet and went about their business. Call it quiet confidence. O'Neal seems to be an exception.

It sounds like he wanted to use his fame to break the rules and make a joke out of it. Not too cool.
Yeah, not too cool, but nothing to write home about, either, just fluff.
I would like to see a new regulation be put into place in the UCMJ that all members of the military must wear masks when out in public. If you are caught violating that, automatic Article 15. Get enough of those, your NCOER's (Non Commissioned Officer Evaluation Report) and OER's (Officer Evaluation Report) will reflect it and you can kiss future promotions goodbye. Lower enlisted who don't get those reports will find themselves not recommended for advancement.
Bin Laden's capture was the mission, not his assassination.

I will always be grateful for how this soldier helped take Bin Laden out, but damn it man wear the fing mask. You are a seal, not a sheeple.
Proof you can wear the uniform, be a hero - or do anything else that's worthy of respect - and still be a dumb ass at times.
