Although Ricky Nelson sold a lot of records, it took many years for his music to be taken seriously by critics. It is strange since Fools Rush In features backing by James Burton, one of the best guitarists of all time, and the "Wrecking Crew", considered the pro's pro's among studio musicians.
James Burton is, indeed, one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He played on most of Ricky Nelson's songs during the early part of Ricky Nelson's career. He also played guitar on Elvis Presley's version of Fools Rush In. Among his many credits, he toured the world with John Denver. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 and has received numerous other well-deserved tributes. James is still with us at age 81. May he rock forever!
My opinion of a truly underrated Rock group, sadly performing and producing albums with music and style too far ahead of their time .

The group and their manager were my friends and my clients. I talked their manager and Luke Gibson into buying an abandoned farm with a great house and very solid barns as partners in the Killaloe area west of Ottawa in Ontario, a very rural area where there were hippie communes. They rarely used it, but I did.
A few tidbits of info about them that you otherwise would never know:
Keith McKie's girl friend looked just like him.
Jimmy Watson drove a yellow Lotus.
Alex Darou starved himself to death.
Their manager went on to form his own Record Company, and continued to manage other Canadian musicians.
Unfortunately I cannot provide a link to their music - but I bet you can find it on YouTube.
A song by my friend, the great H.B. Barnum. He wrote, arranged, performed on and produced hits for many artists. H.B. was Aretha Franklin's musical director for decades.
MR. BUSINESSMAN - Ray Stevens

Billy Vera and the Beaters, ''At This Moment''...I saw this performance at the Wiltern Theatre in LA.
He has a very soulful voice that is somewhat belied by his appearance.

Oh, man ! That song always broke my heart. Excellent and wayyyy underrated.
It's one of my all-time favorite songs.
Great tune. AWESOME group.
DON'T YOU CARE - The Buckinghams
Link Wray and the Wraymen, ''Rumble''
Blind Faith
Anything by Blind Faith. Anything by Steve Winwood!
Underrated in the '70s and '80s and here she is today recording hits with Keb' Mo'.

She has a great voice.
Indeed she does.
DR. HOOK - A Little Bit More

Sounds like hippie/artist music , late 60's. I can almost smell the incense.
Well, those were the days....
Thanks, John.
This was a local L.A. hit named after Slauson Ave. I met Robin last year. Very cool guy.

My great grandmother used to play Dominique frequently.
KEEP SEARCHIN' - Del Shannon
FOOLISH LITTLE GIRL - The Shirelles

My 17 year old daughter loves Loggins and Messina.
I know that Bread had 13 songs on the Top 100 Charts in the 70's, but I think a lot of people forgot about them.
And the song I was named after...
Pretty song.
