Very Fine People On Both Sides
The revisionist history revolves around Donald Trump's official reaction to the violence at that location on that date , a reaction that includes the words "there were some very fine people on both sides"

Over the last couple years there has been a growing revisionist history of Trump's reaction to the events of Aug 11 and 12, 2017, at Lee Park in Charlottesville Virginia.

voke the permit for the “Unite the Right” rally August 12?

Can Charlottesville revoke the permit for the “Unite the Right” rally August 12?

Published by   lloyd   on   July 18, 2017

After the noise and mess and 23 arrests on July 8 for the KKK rally — 40 KKK members, at least 1,000 community members yelling at them, with something like 200 police officers deployed — Charlottesville is bracing for a “Unite the Right” rally being planned by Jason Kessler and his friends.  His advertising proclaims that various alt-right national figures like Richard Spencer are coming.  Kessler has been granted a permit to hold his “Unite the Right” rally in Emancipation Park (formerly Lee Park) on August 12, from 12 noon to 5 PM.  Can the City revoke the permit, as we learn more about who is coming?

Let's see who Jason Kessler is again

Jason Eric Kessler is an American neo-Nazi, white supremacist and anti-semitic conspiracy theorist. Kessler organized the Unite the Right rally held in Charlottesville, Virginia on August 11–12, 2017 and the Unite the Right 2 rally held on August 12, 2018.

=======================================================================

The rally, although opposed by many in the Charlottesville community went off on schedule, and included a torchlight protest on the previous evenong

white-nationalist-rally-charlottesville-violence-15.jpg?w=1520

white-nationalist-rally-charlottesville-violence-16.jpg?w=1520

This was the infamous "Jews will not replace us" procession.

===============================================================================

On Saturday morning and afternoon the white nationalist rally turned into considerable violence and a woman counter protester Heather Heyer was killed when a group of counter protesters were run over by a neo-Nazi driving a car.

===============================================================

Later that afternoon Donald Trump went to a room in the White House and made a statement saying that the violence came from "many sides".

His words on Saturday were widely deemed by the media as insufficient for the horror of seeing white racists clashing with counter protesters and the death (murder)  of one of the anti-racist protesters.

Appx 48 hours after the violence, on Monday Aug 14 Trump read an additional statement

"As I said on Saturday, we condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence – it has no place in America. And as I have said many times before, no matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws. We all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God. We must love each other, show affection for each other and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry and violence. We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans.

Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans. We are a nation founded on the truth that all of us are created equal."

============================================================

Something then happened to Donald Trump. Someone or something got to him and told him that his words of Monday were not sufficient to satisfy his political base. He had to amend them, or perhaps pay a political price.

So, the next day , Aug 15 , Trump made his third statement on the Unite The Right rally. It was part of a long press conference where Trump bent over backwards to portray the rally as a place where innocent people simply wanted to protest the removal of a statue of Robert E Lee.

TRUMP: Excuse me, excuse me. They didn’t put themselves -- and you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Sat Aug 12 Trump waited hours to make any statement at all as the nation watched this racist violence unfold on cable news channels. He then made an insufficient statement.

On Monday, 48 hours later, he read a statement someone wrote for him condemning racism and white supremacy and the violence in Charlottesville.

On Tuesday, the next day after he condemned the racism he said that there were "fine people on both sides".

Here is my point. This event was never anything but a racist rally organized and promoted by neo Nazis and white supremacists. A white supremacist applied for and received the permit to hold the rally. White supremacists literally came from all over the country to Charlottesville to participate in this racist rally.

When Trump said three days later that there were fine people on both sides, was he a phenomenal ignoramous who was truly unaware that this rally was organized by, promoted by and led by white supremacists, or was he placating the element of his base that didnt approve of his anti-racism statement of Monday (the day before)?

Not nearly as some of us at people who continue to take words out of context even after it has been pointed out to them time and time and time again.

Give me your facts.

I'll tell you what happened.  On Sat there was violence at a racist rally when counter protesters confronted the racists.

This went on for hours, and was shown on all the cable news channels. Trump waited hours to make a statement on Saturday and then made one condemning the violence, but also saying it came from "many sides".

He was heavily criticized for not condemning the white racists on Saturday, so on Monday he read a statement condemning racism.

The foillowing day, Tuesday, during a press conference he began to make the case of "fine people on both sides" as if he was minimizing the racist nature of the rally.

This rally was organized and promoted by white supremacists and everyone knew it. The city council in Charlottesville had tried to stop the rally, because they knew it was a hate rally organized by white supremacists.

So, please tell me, just what the hell was wrong with Donald Trump on that Tuesday?

Not a thing.

You have been told repeatedly about this. I see no point in butting my head against a brick wall, so I will not indulge you yet again.

You keep on knowing your version of the truth, and I will do the same.

Dennis, well prior to the date of the Charlottesville Aug 12, 2017 rally it was well known that it was organized by white supremacists. It was in local media and the city was deliberating as to whether the group should be given a permit to rally in a city park.  Why did any "very fine people" attend a white supremacist rally as participants?

John, is everyone who attended  an anti war march a true believing communist? Or everyone who attended the women’s  March organized by anti semites an anti semite?   Do you believe it’s wrong to claim anyone who attended a march against the Iraq war is a very fine person? Are they all communists?

guilt by association is not a game Democrats can win, given their embrace of terrorists and race baiters like Jesse Jackson, al sharpton, Farrakhan etc...spend a few minutes looking at some of the beliefs and actions of the groups that organize left wing protests.

remember, you support a guy who said the pretty much the exact same same about those who built statues to the Klan...the problem you have is that Every point you think you are making when you take trump out of context actually applies to joe Biden, in context.

Sean, Trump deliberately minimized the nature of who organized and promoted that rally. Never of his own volition did he condemn that rally. Under tremendous pressure he read a statement on Monday decrying racism . So I will ask you a simple question. Why did he elaborate on Tuesday to the extent that he now acknowledged "fine people on both sides" ?

This was a racist white supremacist rally. It is right there in black and white. What compelled him to try and paint it as "fine people on both sides".?

Is he an idiot, or did he placate elements in his base that objected to the anti-racism statement of Monday ?

512 This is not rocket science.

1 The marchers were fascists.

2 Trump is a fascist.

3 Fascists never say their name.

4 Fascist Trump gave cover to fascist marchers.

Not rocket science.

Sovereign Nation, Proud Boys, American Nazis, Ku Klux Klan, White Nationalists and the many more rising from the underbelly of American society doesn't matter anymore.

     1.  Trumpism is in financial, ethical and legal dilemmas.

     2.  These ultra unpatriotic and probably foreign financed hate groups have only flames in their future.

     3.  A 'real' US Attorney General and Justice Department will understand the danger they present and will act accordingly.

     5.  Trump and the right wing are scared.

     6.  Truth will set us free from them.

As someone who spent two months covering the aftermath of the most widespread riots in at least 50 years, this never-ending fixation with illusory organized "white supremacist" groups couldn't be more absurd. It's 99% a media invention totally disconnected from reality

Proud Boys" and similar groups would be marginal non-entities if the media didn't chronically exaggerate their influence to advance a fictitious narrative -- it's such a joke that they would even be mentioned in a presidential debate
The biggest ally of the small number of "white supremacists" who actually do exist is the hysterical profit-driven corporate media -- as well as activist dupes who march in lockstep -- which constantly pumps up these non-entities for clicks, ratings and cheap anti-Trump theatrics
Manufacturing hysteria around "Proud Boys" and other joke right-wing groups is a standard left/liberal conformity-enforcing tactic. Instead of producing a rational argument against Trump (not difficult) they once again use emotional manipulation to stoke fake "fascism" fears

The media's total incuriosity about the ideological underpinnings of the most pervasive riots in half a century now creates a situation where pundits can say with a straight face that the most worrisome source of potential street unrest are joke organizations like "Proud Boys"
