Ted Cruz On Trump's Hunter Biden Obsession: It Doesn't Move 'A Single Voter'

Sen. Ted Cruz wrote off President Donald Trump’s repeated efforts to accuse Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden of corruption, saying in an interview that the narrative doesn’t move “a single voter.”

The Texas Republican spoke with Axios’ Jonathan Swan after last week’s presidential debate for an interview released Monday. Cruz complimented Biden at one point, telling Swan that one of the former vice president’s “best points” was when he said all of the attacks back and forth about his family and Trump’s family “don’t matter. What matters is your family.”

“That may have been Biden’s best moment, actually,” said Cruz.

Swan countered by asking, “So you don’t believe voters are moved by the Hunter Biden story?”

“I don’t think it moves a single voter,” Cruz replied.

Trump has accused Joe and Hunter Biden of engaging in corruption with Ukraine, declaring in the first presidential debate that the younger Biden got “millions of dollars” from China, Moscow and Ukraine. These claims remain unproven .

The president has also lambasted Hunter Biden, both during debates and elsewhere, for his struggles with addiction.

Outside of Cruz, other conservatives have also criticized Trump’s repeated attacks on Hunter Biden. Fox News pundit and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has called that narrative a “mistake” because “the average person doesn’t understand it, it is too complicated,”   according to Forbes . Conservative pollster Frank Luntz has called the focus on Hunter Biden part of “the worst campaign I’ve ever seen.”

Notably, after   a particularly crude political hit in the New York Post   earlier this month that sent many Trump supporters into a tailspin online, the Trump campaign has since   quieted substantially on its rhetoric   against the Biden family.

Much as I hate to agree with this slimy tRump ass kisser, he's right.

Anyone who thinks this will sway one single vote towards tRump is pathetic, desperate.

“So you don’t believe voters are moved by the Hunter Biden story?” “I don’t think it moves a single voter,” Cruz replied.

The only ones drinking the poisoned cool-aid were already in Jonestown.

Repeating the same lie isn't going to magically turn it into the truth. No one here claimed Cruz "is a good guy" other than yourself, which is pretty hilarious.

Slimy tRump ass kissers do occasionally, though often unintentionally, tell the truth. It doesn't absolve them from their active brown nosing of a vile narcissistic bigot like Trump, but it is humorous when they get something right among the mountain of lies they tell.

There's nothing wrong in agreeing time to time with someone you dislike

True but in this case that would be called cherry-picking.

Especially with how negatively some of you have characterized Cruz here in the past.

Even you say some things I agree with, so I guess you can call that cherry picking, too

Sure, we can call it that once you actually admit that you've agreed with me.

Which i know you have but have not admitted to in public.

Which is actually funny and a little sad at the same time.

I have agreed with you in public, you just don't remember it. I actually made a joke about it and you got offended

I vaguely remember that one in a million occurrence but know it's happened more without any comment.

And i doubt i got offended by your joke.   More like my response didn't fit neatly and exactly into how you wanted me to respond.

It's not like you suddenly began playing well with others here on that one comment ...... not at all ....

I'd say that the only area that Hunter Biden is a topic of conversation, other than with the administration is by some on NT.

That's because of the clearly troublesome mass media news blackout on the story.

Very troublesome ......

The mass media is quick to take the word of porn stars or shyster lawyers with no solid proof but not the word of a Navy Vet and former business partner of Bidens.

Telling, very telling .....

Looks like Mr. Cruz is looking for the exit door.  I personally don't care what he or any other GOP representative has to say at this point because it's pointless.  They all had an opportunity to speak truth to power and to do the right thing for the country when it really mattered and they chose their political careers over doing what they swore to do.  Cruz is a pathetic creep who sold out his wife and his father while falling to his knees and worshiping Trump.  What he says now no longer matters.

After Trump let the world know he thinks Cruz' wife is dog ugly,  Cruz held a press gaggle where he said Trump is a psychopath. A day or two later Cruz fell in line and has been submissive to Trump ever since.

Yes, I remember.  And it just goes to show it's not what you say but what you do.  He held his press conference and talked the talk then fell to his knees as a servant to Trump.  Pathetic.  No one should look to the GOP leadership as having anything worthwhile to say or to be trusted.
