U.S. reports record 88,521 new Covid cases as scientists warn of ‘exponential growth’
The U.S. reported more than 88,500 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, a record daily high since the beginning of the pandemic.

The United States reported a record 88,521 new coronavirus cases on Thursday as the pandemic seeps into every area of the country and scientists warn of exponential growth ahead of the holidays.
“We’re starting to find ourselves on a steep slope of the epidemic curve, so I think you’re going to see cases accelerate,” Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the former head of the Food and Drug Administration, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Friday. The positivity rate, or the percentage of total tests that are positive, is greater than 10% in roughly 15 states, a sign that “there’s more infection out there that we’re not turning over,” he said.
Gottlieb predicted that the U.S. could hit 100,000 new cases Friday or Saturday.

The U.S. is continuing its upward climb on what’s now the pandemic’s third peak, with cases growing by 5% or more in 45 states as of Thursday, according to a CNBC analysis of data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
Yet another YUGE success for the Trump Administration-- there are as many as 5 states where the number of cases is definitely not continuing its upward climb-- where its not growing that fast!
Over the last week, the U.S. reported an average of roughly 76,590 new cases every day, the highest seven-day average recorded yet and up more than 25% compared with a week ago, according to Johns Hopkins data.
Good news indeed! Great to hear that its up considerably less than 30% compared to a week ago-- its obvious that the trump Administration now has it totally under control-- as it had since it began months ago! Goodm for them!!!

Not surprisingly, many republican voters actually don't see the sharp spike in the number of cases as an important issue.

Every day there are 80,00 to 90,00 new cases in some areas. And hundreds of new deaths. If this keeps up America and its people will be in serious sanger on many levels.
Trump and his political ass kissers have the blood of all those who have died on their hands. They refused to attack the virus first off, and then tried to blame others for their own ineptitude and willingness to listen to those who are far more knowledgeable about this kind of disease. And yes, there are a lot more cases and deaths that are happening across America than are not being recorded.
If God did cast this virus on the world to take the lives of all these people, cost them their jobs and livelihood, and turn the world into a earthly Hell, then I am totally glad that God is not the deity that I recognize, as my deity would not be that cruel to His own.
