Cops: Teen Posed as OB/GYN for a Month

He walked halls of medical center with white coat, was caught in exam room

(Newser) Apparently, the only thing necessary to pass yourself off as a doctoran OB/GYN, no lessis an official-looking white coat. Fox 13 reports that a teenager pulled it off for a month at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. The center insists that the unnamed juvenile never had contact with patients, but he apparently came close. A police reports says the ruse finally came to a halt when the teen was inside an exam room with a doctor and his patient.

The first thing I thought was, I am getting, I am really getting old because these young doctors look younger every year, recalls Dr. Sebastian Kent. The suspicious doctor called authorities, and the youth was taken into custody. His mother later explained that her son has an undisclosed illness for which he's been refusing to take medication, and no charges were filed, reports the Orlando Sun-Sentinel . Based on interviews with security guards, "Dr. Robinson" had been walking the halls of the facility for about a month, and he had gotten into secured areas. "Terrifying," writes a blogger at Jezebel .

Now, that's pretty scary! How could someone onthe staff not have noticed such a young face!

Before reading this article, I surmised that this incident happened in Florida. Lo and behold, it did. It seems the craziest and most outlandish things occur there more than elsewhere.

Sheesh.

When I had Matthew, back in the day, it was seemingly a cast of thousands there... They ALL looked like kids to me. If I had had my wits about me, I would have thrown them all out, but nope, I didn't. It's pretty intimidating lying there with your innards hanging out-- when you want to say, EVERYBODY OUT OF HERE... Well, you're just not able. Then, too, my blood pressure had dropped to 35/25 and it was all I could do to keep from going into the dark tunnel with the light at the end...

I was too busy just trying to breathe... It was sort of pleasant, actually. Not the thought that I was dying, but that it was so peaceful to do so. I was disappointed to have come this far and to never get to hold the baby...

After it was all over with, I told my doctor that, even though I will NOT be having any more children, I will never agree to allowing ANYONE to observe anything, ever again. In fact, I make that clear, up front, to all of my doctors. NO OBSERVATIONS, no visitors, no learning doctors-- let them learn on someone else...

The big deal was that I was so old, and we both almost didn't make it. They all wanted to be there at such an 'elderly' birth. I take a dim view of this. Smile.gif

I take a dim view of this I would too!!

I have had basically the same experience, but, it was when an aneurysm ruptured. They brought me back to life 5 times.

EGAD! Yours was MUCH more serious!

Matthew had an Apgar score of 1, and they were too busy teaching, and not helping him to breathe. Finally, the head nurse stepped in and revived him. All I could do was lay there, tied to the table, and flutter my hands... It was a C-section, I guess you could tell. Finally, I heard him cry. I thought, at least there's that-- and sort of drifted off... But I came back of my own. Smile.gif

I take a dim view of all those shenanigans. Teaching should not take precidence over living. They were all a bunch of yip yaps. I still get mad about it...

Thank God you and Matthew are alive and well, with no residuals.
