Trump Pressures Pence To Overturn The Election. (Pence Can’t Overturn The Election)
Trump is so desperate that he is tweeting demands that Mike Pence overturn the election for him, which Pence can’t do.
Trump tweeted:
The Vice President has the power to reject fraudulently chosen electors.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 5, 2021
Trump’s false claim has been fact-checked over and over again. Pence’s role is ceremonial. He has no actual power to do anything. Mike Pence can’t reject or refuse to seat electors. His job is to announce the count. If the seating of electors is challenged, it is up to the Senate to vote and decide whether or not to accept them. If the Senate votes to reject a slate, the matter would then go to the House, which would need to agree for electors to be rejected.
The most uninformed president in American history is intentionally misleading the American people on the process and Pence’s role.
The Senate won’t vote against any of the electors.
Trump has no path to hang on to power and his public attempts to pressure Pence to do something that he does not have the power to do are the bumbling moves of a desperate fool who realizes that his life of crime is about to catch up to him in roughly two weeks.
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump turned up the pressure on Tuesday to enlist Vice President Mike Pence in a futile effort to reverse the outcome of the presidential election and keep them in office for another four years.
With a president who has excelled at remaining the focus of Washington during his time in office, Pence has largely played the role of quiet support character, never publicly rebuking his boss and sticking to his script with unwavering consistency.
But Trump's ongoing effort to keep from being evicted from the White House on Jan. 20 has pushed Pence into the limelight and left him in a position those close to him say he is "dreading."
Pence has a constitutional role in the process of officially making President-elect Joe Biden the commander in chief. On Wednesday, he will be charged with overseeing Congress's count of the Electoral College votes that have been submitted by the states. A group of Republican lawmakers have announced they plan to object, although they are unlikely to be successful in actually throwing out the Biden votes.
There is a fairly simple way for Pence to stay in Trumps good graces. He can grovel before the king and say he really wanted to rule in Trumps favor and overturn the election results, but his hands were tied by the constitution.
Trump wont really have an answer to that.
Trump wont really have an answer to that.
Dude, Trump to Raffensperger that “there’s nothing wrong with just saying you’ve recalculated the votes and I won”. Answers are not Trump’s strong suit.
To Trump, the constitution is his to abuse.
But Trump won't like Pence as much if he doesn't ''help'' Trump out.
Bizarro world is upon us.
I don't think he likes him to begin with.
bwah ha ha. pence has no power to overturn shit. trumpski has found a convenient idiot patsy for his own electoral failure. another systematic trumpski take down of a potential 2024 rival for his ignorant followers. nice of trumpski to destroy the GOP at the end of his 4 year adventure destroying america.
I don't think the man has ever read the constitution
I don't think he reads anything, unless it's got lots of pretty pictures . . . . .
I found the votes!!!!
...and 5 cat toys, a dozen cheetos, and 85 cents in change
A key point:
