Arkansas man accused of beating officer with American flag at U.S. Capitol
The Department of Justice is charging an Arkansas man accused of repeatedly beating a police officer with an American flag during the riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Peter Francis Stager is accused of violating a federal law that makes it illegal to obstruct a law enforcement officer during civil disorder.
A federal complaint and arrest warrant details the accusation.
An officer wearing his official police uniform stood in an archway to prevent a group from breaching the Capitol.
Some people grabbed the officer and dragged him down the stairs. They forced him into a prone position and hit him repeatedly in the head and body with various objects.
This incident was captured on videos, which were posted on Twitter. Witnesses identified Peter Francis Stager from the videos, according to the court documents.
One video shows Stager using an American flag to repeatedly strike the officer, the document states.
In another video, Stager says, "Everybody in there is a treasonous traitor. Death is the only remedy for what's in that building."
One witness told law enforcement he had spoken with Stager after the incident. Stager told him he thought the officer was "antifa." He said he planned to turn himself in but hadn't yet.
Stager is not the only Arkansan facing charges related to the insurrection.
Richard Morris Barnett was photographed with his feet up on a desk in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office. Prosecutors said he was carrying a stun gun.
His bail hearing is scheduled for Friday.
So glad they got this guy. There are others who were stomping and beating the officer, as well. They all belong in prison.
every time one of these trumpster terrorists gets arrested, a NT roll call should be done.
I know, right? But in reality, the ones here would be too old and too fat to have been helpful in any way.
However, last week on the news, I saw someone who looked extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY familiar... I consider him a friend, but I think he would be entirely capable of making his voice heard in Washington, DC. I do not, however, think he would have participated in the really bad stuff. At least I hope he wouldn't have.
who? fat ass?
btw...love your new avatar.
Throw the book at him and hopefully they will get the rest of the traitors.
I agree. one of the more disturbing visuals of the trumpster insurrection.
Well it won't matter much, because Trump will pardon him.
On a slightly different note , Jim Jordan filed a complaint against Liz Cheney seeking to get her removed as the third ranking member of the House Republicans . The complaint says that by voting for impeachment Cheney was attempting to bring the Republican conference "into disrepute". No, that is not made up.
too fucking late for that. she's still a republican, but he's part of the new trump sedition party from now on.
Jim Jordan is a horrid little man.
A person of the male gender without a spine, and/or moral core. I cannot in good conscience call him a 'man.' Any thing hanging between his legs are nothing but dangling hemorrhoids.
I heard that happens to disappointed wrestling coaches. Cauliflower balls.
I doubt he has any balls, cauliflower or not.
Republicans are tough on terrorists until the terrorists are Republicans.
BINGO
Remember the Repubs are the ''Law and Order'' party, we all saw that on the 6th..../s
