Trump's Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany leaves White House a few days early.
"Instead of providing the public with useful information, McEnany puts on a masterclass of spin, obfuscation, and propaganda that would be amusing if it wasn't such an affront to the idea that the federal government should work on behalf of the people."

Kayleigh McEnany, President Donald Trump's press secretary, has decided not to stick around until the end of the term and packed up her office Friday. Although she will continue officially holding the role, she will no longer be at the White House, or even in the nation's capital. McEnany will reportedly be working remotely from Tampa until Wednesday.

After some reports that she was leaving, McEnany sent out a tweet acknowledging that. "As I leave the White House, I have the privilege of reading notes from incredible servants to our country," McEnany tweeted. Amid the packing up she also had time for one last tiff with a journalist, pushing back against a tweet from the New York Times' Maggie Haberman, who first reported the news that McEnany was leaving the White House. Haberman had tweeted that "the last time McEnany responded to a question from me was when it was a story about herself." The press secretary said that "with one exception, the last time she emailed me was July," speculating that was because she "refused to be an anonymous source for her."

McEnany took on the job of press secretary in April from Stephanie Grisham, who served for nine months and didn't hold a single news conference. McEnany had been a staunch defender of Trump on cable news before joining him in the White House.

Ever since Trump moved into the White House, his press secretaries often made news themselves as they tried to speak for a president who often liked to talk for himself via Twitter. Sean Spicer was the first press secretary and he only lasted seven months. Then came Sarah Huckabee Sanders who was in the role the longest, serving for almost two years until June, 2019. In her first news conference, McEnany famously told reporters, "I will never lie to you. You have my word on that." But, of course, she often did just that. "The White House press briefings have become something akin to a parody of Trump's administration" Vox's Aaron Rupar wrote in September. "Instead of providing the public with useful information, McEnany puts on a masterclass of spin, obfuscation, and propaganda that would be amusing if it wasn't such an affront to the idea that the federal government should work on behalf of the people."

She did her job perfectly. Her job was to try and bamboozle America and promote Trump's lies, and she did try.

Now she will most likely try to get a show on one of the conservative media platforms or perhaps run for Congress in a district that hasnt elected a Democrat since 1922.

She was proficient at giving snowjobs which is exactly why Trump hired her.

I wonder if the street corner they got her from is still available for her to resume her former career.

I find it whimsical that some of the new electees appear to be the best their constituents could get to put themselves in the hornets nest known as our Congress. I wonder if it was because those with even a modicum of intelligence did not want to join Trumps' clown circus in case he was able to steal the election from Biden by his usual degraded tricks and threats.

Now, they see those they chose for what they really are, and they are ashamed to have it known that they represent not only their state, but, those who voted for them.

Next time they should look with a different pair of glasses.

I see her continuing her current role in the private sector by opening a successful "consulting" business where she can dive head first into the crotch of problems that plague the mature conservative base.

There is nothing the MSM and liberals hate more than a strong, attractive woman who is prepared to call BS on them.  She was masterful.  She embarrassed them at every news conference and proved that the media was just there to get gotcha moments and had no interest in reporting facts..

Hahaha

She lied when ever she could. The ones that should be embarrassed are comically not...

There is nothing attractive about a woman lying through her teeth. We all saw her tabbed cheat binder of topics to keep her on the bogus narrative being fed to America by a deceptive dishonest administration.

She was masterful.

Oh please. If that was masterful I'd hate to see what you consider amateur.

She embarrassed them at every news conference

The only person she embarrassed at every news conference was herself.

proved that the media was just there to get gotcha moments and had no interest in reporting facts.

The media would have been more than happy if she had ever given them any facts, but sadly that was too much to ask of this inept half wit regurgitating talking points.

I find it hilarious that some consider brown nosing the worst President in history and his moronic minions as "right down the center". Perhaps it's "right down the center" of right wing extremism, but its certainly not the viewpoint of actual centrists and the majority of Americans.

I can't say I watch a lot of White House press conferences, but she appeared to be very good at her job. She dispensed the information expected, and when challenged, seemed to have an answer for everything. She was articulate, calm, and well prepared. The relationship between the press and the White House has been generally hostile and she was a skilled advocate for her side.

Trump’s favorite way of buying time has apparently rubbed off on Kayleigh McEnany, his fourth White House press secretary. Asked during Tuesday’s briefing if a health care plan that Trump has been saying is merely weeks away will finally be unveiled this week — “there are doubts that such a thing actually exists,” a reporter pointed out — McEnany said, without a shred of irony, that her boss “will be laying out some additional health care steps in the coming, I would say two weeks.”

That particular exchange illustrated how at this late date of Trump’s first term, the White House press briefings have become something akin to a parody of Trump’s administration. Instead of providing the public with useful information, McEnany puts on a masterclass of spin, obfuscation, and propaganda that would be amusing if it wasn’t such an affront to the idea that the federal government should work on behalf of the people.

I'm fascinated to see what she does next. I hope it's something more interesting than just a TV job, which is usually where these people end up.

I have to admit it's a hell of springboard. Some young person gets this job for a year or two and then ends up with an extremely lucrative television career. Nice work, if you can get it.

She did her job exactly as she should do it and is a great American!  She could easily get that job again in any future GOP administration.
