Trump's incitement for insurrection started with his whole "Stop the Steal" campaign, his personally broadcasting to his base that the election was stolen from him because of massive fraud since he "had actually won by a landslide".  His frivolous fantasy lawsuits and claims virtually provoked his violent base and on January 6th his language egged the mob on to storm the Capitol building.  If he does not in these last frew hours pardon himself (if doing so is effective) he should be treated not as a past POTUS, but as a traitor to his country.

I just read that there are moving trucks at the White House.  I think they should be inspected before they leave because I wouldn't put it past him to steal priceless White House historical artifacts, maybe even the Oval Office Resolute Desk - because, what the hell does the law mean to him, the great "law and order" spokesman.

A bust of Lincoln was already taken by team Trump.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if, as Buzz mentioned, he (and his kids) take a lot more...

Look, I get that you are an expert on all things Fox News.

Now, if you could link a story from Fox News about the Trumps taking a bust of Lincoln, that would be swell!

Should be a breeze for an expert like yourself.

TMZ link quote:

It's possible the sculpture is a personal item Trump brought when he moved into the White House.

Of course, Trump and staffers are prepping to move out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave to make room for President-electJoe Biden--

Now damn, if THAT isn't just iron-clad proof of, well, something, eh?

Couldn't find the Fox News one, either?

Hmmmm.

Its always a judgement call as to what to do (when a troll posts something that's obviously false).

Do we post links from reliable sources and call them out on their sleazy tactics? Or do we ignore them?

Calling them out on their blatant lies and sleazy tactics may seem like the wiser choice. But OTOH the more attention you give them the longer they persist.

Lately I've been leaning towards thinking its better to just totally ignore these as-holes!

(And remember, no matter how sleazy they are-- and no matter how much they drag down the site-- they are secure in their knowledge that no matter what they do-- they will never actually be banned....and no matter how many people realize itsa better not to respond..there will always be a few people who will engage them in debate, thus ensuring their effectiveness)

Which is why I'm thinking of a third alternative. Yes, I am considering starting my own (troll-free) site. I will be privately inviting those people who I think are appropriate...stay tuned for details jrSmiley_9_smiley_image.gif

There are photos of it being removed from the White House.

It is POSSIBLE it was being removed to return it to the museum it came from.

It is POSSIBLE it was being stolen.

It is POSSIBLE that the moon is made of green cheese.

It is POSSIBLE that Trump loyalists might one day admit that maybe he wasn't perfect after all.

I used to think it necessary to ''debate''', just in case an undecided third party was listening in.

But hey! There are none! ''Undecided third party'' is a unicorn.

So... ''debate'' with RWNJs is simply a waste of time.

True.

But then again-- what about all our years of service? Posting all those seeds and articles that got clicks.

And an occasional winner-- something we posted that got the site a tremendous number of clicks and page views?

IIRC, I read they he definitely wanted to pardon himself-- as well as pre-emptively pardoning some members of his family.  As  well as a few other of his ass-kissing groupies. But apparently some of his close advisors talked him out of it.

If he does not in these last few hours pardon himself (if doing so is effective)

The last I've heard is that its still not certain whether or not a President has the power to pardon himself. (There are some interesting legal arguments on both sides of that issue)

That must be a difficult decision for him-- whichever way he decides it will alienate some group of Kentucky voters. (Although I believe I've read he may have decided to retire ...?)

Dedicated to the Thief in Chief (with apologies to Bob Dylan)

"Once upon a time you dressed so fine
Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People call say 'beware y'all, you're bound to fall'
You thought they were all kidding you
You used to tweet about
Everybody that was hanging out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be losing your best deal
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be without that home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone"
