Texas Governor: Biden border crisis a 'self inflicted wound'
Gov. Abbott joins 'America Reports' live from the Southern border
Former President Donald Trump blasted President Biden's handling of the border crisis, saying the country is being "destroyed" by the recent surge of illegal migrants at the border.
In a statement released Tuesday, Trump pointed to his border policy wins as president, saying that the US-Mexico border under his watch was "in great shape" and was "stronger, safer and more secure than ever before."
He also said that the border wall "would have easily" been completed if not for Democrats stalling the project.
"We ended Catch-and-Release, shut down asylum fraud and crippled the vicious smugglers, drug dealers and human traffickers," wrote the former president. "The Wall, despite horrendous Democratic delays, would have easily been finished by now, and is working magnificently."
Trump concluded: "Our country is being destroyed at the Southern border, a terrible thing to see!"
The former president's statement comes as the Biden administration faces down a massive wave of illegal migrants at the southern border.
The "overwhelming" number of migrants seen at the border had Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas ask for volunteers in his agency to help deal with the crisis.
Fox News reported on Tuesday that U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) would be shutting down three border checkpoints in Arizona as the agency has trouble dealing with the giant flux of migrants.
"Our country is being destroyed" says Trump, by 100,000 people trying to enter the country and in one month !
Hide the women and children ! The idiot factory is in full operation.
I thought it was already destroyed by those endless caravans....
This smells like a distraction by Trump to knock the story about his financial misdeeds off the news pages.
As Trump has done many times, he reports his properties with one value when he wants to borrow money and wants to show a high worth, and reports them at a different value when it's time to pay property taxes on them. He has done this many times. The prosecutor will likely look for a few most egregious cases to prosecute.
WE DON'T TAKE ADVISEMENT FROM THE FORMER OCCUPANT OF THE WHITE HOUSE.
FUCK OFF!
Keep deflecting to Trump. It is all the leftist lemmings have.
Nothing is going fix the mammoth crisis on the Southern Border that is of the Democrats making.
Of course since the dinner bell has been rung so loud and clear I am sure those overstaying their expired VISA will also take advantage of the administration's lax stance on immigration and national security.
"Keep deflecting to Trump."
Duh - who is the article about?????????????????????????
Your deflection and projection and whataboutism and denial is duly noted
Our country isnt being "destroyed" by 100,000 immigrants detained at the border. Trump and his mimics should stop lying, if possible.
Not gonna happen, there's too much power in deception.
Correction.... There is much grift in deception... Must be one of Trumps mantras....
Unfortunately some of our southern border countries are a shithole and people want out, its been like that for many years. Obama had to deal with it as did trump.
Obama tried to deal with the crisis by helping foreign countries and letting in some of the most persecuted people from those countries enter America.
trump just stopped as many border crossings as he possibly could for the time being by locking everyone up and separating their families.
Now there is a huge backlog of people not far from the border who have been waiting to see IF they would ever have a chance to come here.
Of course a new president with a more reasonable approach to the border security is a hopeful opportunity for them because the original problem still exists, some of our southern border countries are a still shithole and people still want out,
But, That's what we have immigration laws for.
