Securing the border
"Today we are announcing that Texas will build a border wall in our state to help secure our border," Abbott said at a press conference.

The Governor of the Great state of Texas is forced to secure the southern border, which is a federal duty. When did our nation's leaders stop enforcing federal law?   How did an evil ideology get so far? It is the dark times in which we live.

Yesterday Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that Texas will build its own border wall. Future generations will look back and wonder at the idea of trying to change the population and demographics of the United States. History will show that Biden was chosen as the democratic nominee by the powers that existed in the democratic party only because the primary came down to Biden and the man many democrats considered unelectable - Bernie Sanders. History will also record that as soon as Biden, posing as a moderate, was elected he proceeded to govern as Sanders would have.

The taxpayers of Texas are on the hook for a $250 million down payment to begin the project. Donations will also play a part in the construction of a wall.

The Governor minced no words in stating the obvious: "Make no mistake, the border crisis that we’re dealing with right now is a direct result of the open border policies that have been put in place by the Biden administration."

"Abbott said that border states like Texas have seen "carnage" from people coming over. He said that in the first four months of the year, the Texas Department of Public Safety saw an 800% increase in the amount of fentanyl apprehended at the border – enough to kill more than 21 million Americans.

"Homes are being invaded, neighborhoods are dangerous and people are being threatened on a daily basis with guns by people coming across the border or those working with those coming across the border," he said."

Texas Democratic congressman Henry Cuellar: All I've been asking, this administration and the prior administration, is to listen to the people that live on the border. We don't just come and visit for a few hours. We actually live there. There are people there with so much experience. The border shows the police chiefs, the mayors and the judges. And we know how the border works. We understand the dynamics.
We understand what happens on the Mexican side. Like your reporter said, most of the property or the territory on the other side of the border is controlled by drug cartels. Nobody goes in. Nobody crosses without them charging them and giving them the OK.
We certainly encourage the vice president, the president to come visit the border. I think it's important, but I guess he'll do it on their own time and terms. But certainly, at the same time, when we're doing that, I sit in on the appropriations. I got folks that are on the border, that we serve in the appropriations, and we have a list of proposals to add, for example, more ATSI officers, the homeland investigators, so they can go after those criminal drug cartels, not only in the US, but go into the foreign countries and go after those drug cartels. Because if you don't stop the money, you know what they charge? 6,000-8,000 dollars a year.

"Over 170,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended at the U.S-Mexico border in May, the most since 2006 and the third straight month in this fiscal year, according to Axios.

Based on preliminary Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data  Axios obtained , the report added that approximately 900,000 migrants had been apprehended between Oct. 1 to May 31, the most in the last eight months of a fiscal year since 2006.

Last month, the number of illegal immigrants stopped at the border hit a 20-year high — the most encounters in a single month since April of 2000, with the number reaching  more than 178,000 recorded . The April increase was driven by an 11.2 percent increase in the number of single adults attempting to enter the US. A total of 111,301 were stopped by CBP in April, up from 100,104 in March."

“More migrants are being granted humanitarian exceptions because they are considered the most vulnerable, including families with young children and transgender people who had been living in dangerous conditions in Mexican border towns,”  NPR reported .

Have those who run the Biden administration ever met anyone they thought wasn't "most vulnerable?"

Have they ever explained how that system works?

Meanwhile Texans are now being asked to set their thermostats to a toasty eighty two degrees at night because their aging power grid is failing, again...

Do you think Texan's priorities are out of whack?

Who needs a modern power grid when they can have a wall which was already obsolete in The Dark Ages?

I haven't been asked to do that.

Check your sources--you DO have one for that claim, right?

A state with people facing $80 something BILLION in unpaid electrical bills AND still facing the possibility of rolling blackouts in record breaking heat will be so happy with a governor spending $250M on some fencing on state land. Nothing more than a drop in a bucket that has holes in it...It's apparent that Abbot's only priority is his 2024 Presidential campaign.

That's working people only.

Texans who matter [petroleum barons, etc.] don't have those problems.

Proletarians don't matter.

Where did you find that nonsense? Nothing could be further from the truth!

The record is established beyond all contestation!

It is about class.
It has always been about class.
It will continue to be about class.

How many times does a dumbass need to watch a video of how quickly a wall can be crossed to realize what a colossal waste of money it is?  This doesn’t even factor in the environmental damage and the assault on citizen property rights.
