Breaking *********** Derek Chauvin has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for the 2nd degree murder of George Floyd

Derek Chauvin has been sentenced by Judge Peter Cahill to 22 years in prison for the 2nd degree murder of George Floyd.

Even a plea for leniency from Chauvin's mother failed to save him from long prison time.

Hey, PJ! What's shakin '?

A little more on the right and left but it's still manageable so I won't complain.  I'm making my occasional appearance before disappearing again.  Hope you're doing well.  jrSmiley_15_smiley_image.gif

He isn't going to have an easy time. Being a cop and his high profile case.

Probably a few people will be waiting for him to be released to gen pop.

I think you're right. I used to watch this show called "oz" on HBO, it was about a prison. They put all the bad cops in one block to keep them safe from the other prisoners. I wonder if MN has anything like that?

"He won't be put in GP, he wouldn't last a month."

Aw, too bad.  It would have made a lot of white supremacists happy had he been given a much shorter sentence.  I would agree with them, as long as it would be served in the general population of the prison with no isolation, and with "Big Bubba" as his roommate.

I don't know, Trout but you can bet one way or the other he will not be in GP.

A lot of people on social media evidently upset about Chauvin's mothers statement to the court, in which she said what a good son Derek Chauvin is, but didnt show any notable sympathy for the Floyd family.

Basically his mom offered up the standard plea of: Your Honor, I know my son killed 6 people, but 12 of them deserved it.
