Former President Donald Trump took a break from sending statements that make false and baseless claims of a rigged election, and instead called for military intervention in Afghanistan despite previous negotiations of a complete withdrawal with the Taliban.
The withdrawal of US military personnel under the Biden administration has objectively not gone according to plan, and reasonable people would likely agree that it has been disastrous, at the very least from a public relations perspective, if not more. 300,000 Afghan troops appeared to literally roll over to Taliban forces in less than two weeks, giving up control of the entire wartorn nation, along with $85 billion in high-grade arms provided to them over the course of two decades.
Trump and his administration had negotiated with the Taliban to take over the country but failed to withdraw all troops during his four years in office. However, President Joe Biden fulfilled that promise but did so in a manner that appears to have made an already unstable political situation impossibly worse, an issue which has been seized upon by critics of this administration.
Trump hit this note in a statement released Monday morning, writing "Never in history has a withdrawal from war been handled so badly or incompetently as the Biden Administration's withdrawal from Afghanistan." Trump then went on to demand that all equipment be returned, and if not, "we should either go in with unequivocal Military force and get it or at least bomb the hell out of it. "

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America
Never in history has a withdrawal from war been handled so badly or incompetently as the Biden Administration's withdrawal from Afghanistan. In addition to the obvious, ALL EQUIPMENT should be demanded to be immediately returned to the United States, and that includes every penny of the $85 billion dollars in cost. If it is not handed back, we should either go in with unequivocal Military force and get it, or at least bomb the hell out of it. Nobody ever thought such stupidity, as this feeble-brained withdrawal, was possible!
Trump had long campaigned on the benefits of removing US troops from Afghanistan and even led a similar operation in Syria, which left Kurdish allies to the American effort in the region exposed to bad actors. It is not clear how Trump squares his previous policy of ending intervention in war-torn areas with little strategic benefit and returning US military forces to the very region from which he previously negotiated a withdrawal.

First of all it was a conditional withdrawal. Several of those conditions weren't met. Secondly, Trump promised to bomb the Taliban into oblivion if they harmed 1 US soldier or citizen. I think the airport terrorist attack qualifies. No way does the the ISIS-K terrorist get anywhere near the airport unless the Taliban allow it.
Biden massively fucked up the withdrawal and evacuation; and the left has been screaming "But Trruuummmmppppp!!!!!!" louder and louder ever since. Nothing is ever going to change the facts that Biden put the US in the situation it is today; of abandoning US citizens on the ground in Afghanistan while the last US soldiers pull out. Scream Trump all you want; the majority are no longer listening anymore.
And since the Taliban are in town, in residential areas, you think "bombing the hell out of them" is a good idea???
Trump was right about everything regarding Afghanistan and Biden had to do it differently because but Trump!
Letter to the editor: Trump 's surrender created chaos ...
Aug 26, 2021 · The dishonorable, twice-impeached, former president, Donald J. Trump , unconditionally surrendered to the Taliban without making any provisions for …
"twice-impeached"???? Jjjeeeezzzz - only the House impeached him - the Senate said "Nah"
Next facts???
<SIGH>
I thought you knew this. Impeachment is an indictment. That is the House's responsibility. It is up to the Senate to hold the trial and to determine his guilt or innocence. If he had been convicted the Senate would have determined his punishment. Bill Clinton was impeached. The Senate found him guilty and censured him
Yes'm - and I appreciate the clarification.
Obviously the commenter I was responding to doesn't know the difference.
On a different subject - there's a lady in Little Rock who has some Maine Coons available - if you're interested.
I dont know why you are trying to pick a fight with me about impeachment because so far today you have shown you know very little about it. Particularly the last two impeachments.

I can't have any more cats. But thanks
History will show that he was impeached twice. That's a fact.
Trump had zero, zilch, nada, to do with Biden's fucked up withdrawal.
Face up to it John, your president is an ever present danger our democracy and national security
Trump is no better at armchair quarterbacking than he was at playing POTUS.
I guess he wasn't around during the fall of Saigon....
He was too busy draft dodging on the golf courses.
Todd Starnes, (right wing evangelical), said much the same thing...
I guess Jesus has become pretty vengeful in his old age. /s
I think Todd Starnes should spend some time on his knees
He probably already has monogrammed knee pads.
The difference between Trump and Biden is glaring.
Biden ran with his tail between his legs trying to satisfy a campaign promise. Even when keeping that promise broke his other more sacred promise of not leaving any American(s) behind.... which he did.
Trump had a conditions based plan, which had the Taliban and the government forming a coalition type government, and we would maintain a small contingent of troops to endure no terrorist revival in Afghanistan.
As a reminder, when they broke their promise in those negotiations, he gave them a reminder of America might. He gave them the displeasure of being on the receiving end of a MOAB.
The MOAB was dropped on ISIS not the Taliban in 2017. It didn’t seem to slow them down much.
B-52's were used against the Taliban as late as 08/08/2021 and it didn't slow them down or impress them.
