Joe Biden, frequent Delaware vacationer, doesn't have time for your stupid border

President Joe Biden still hasn't been to the U.S.-Mexico border, where a humanitarian crisis of his administration's own making has raged for the past several months. He is just too darn busy, the president explained Thursday evening during a town hall event hosted by CNN.
Yes, all presidents are busy. But not all presidents make two dozen trips to Delaware over the span of 10 months.
"Do you have plans to visit the southern border?" asked host Anderson Cooper.
Said Biden, "I've been there before and I haven't — I mean, I know it well."
Let's stop right there and review the facts. Biden hasn't been to the border in 13 years, and even then it was only because he drove past El Paso, Texas, on his way to a campaign event.
Asked Friday why the president said he has been to the border when the facts show this doesn't appear to be the case, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed the last time Biden has been near the border was when former President Barack Obama first ran for president.
"He did drive through the border when he was on the campaign trail in 2008," she said.
If you think this is bad, the rest of Biden's response Thursday evening is worse.
"I guess I should go down," the president said. "But the whole point of it is I haven't had a whole hell of a lot of time to get down. I've been spending time going around looking at the $900 billion worth of damage done by — by hurricanes and floods and weather and traveling around the world."
As of this writing, Biden is scheduled to spend yet another weekend at his home in Delaware. This marks his 20th such trip since becoming president, according to former CBS News reporter Mark Knoller.
In total, Biden has visited Delaware 24 times since January.
The president has also done 10 weekends at the presidential retreat at Camp David, according to Breitbart'sCharlie Spiering.
"Biden enjoys leaving the White House on Friday and returning home on Monday, following a similar schedule that he enjoyed as a U.S. senator," Spiering notes. "Instead of riding Amtrak, Biden utilizes the presidential Marine One helicopter to fly back and forth from Washington, D.C."
He adds, "In August, Biden took nine Marine One flights in just 18 days in an effort to salvage his vacation in Delaware and Camp David even as he struggled to react to his botched exit out of Afghanistan.
On Thursday, Biden scrambled to address the question of why he hasn't prioritized visiting the border to survey the slow-rolling humanitarian crisis that has grown exponentially worse on his watch.
"I plan on - now, my wife Jill has been down," he said, as if the first lady were an acceptable substitute for the commander-in-chief. "She's been on both sides of the river. She's seen the circumstances there. She's looked into those places."
He added, "You notice you're not seeing a lot of pictures of kids lying on top of one another with, you know, with — you know, looks like tarps on top of them. We've been able to deal with that. We've been able to significantly increase funding through the HHS, Health and Human Services, to provide shelter for these kids and people."
The Border Patrol recorded an astonishing 208,887 encounters with migrants in August (this figure includes apprehensions plus crossings of migrants at legal ports of entry). This number far surpasses anything seen during the Trump administration, when Biden regularly railed against the Republican administration's harsh and "inhuman" immigration policies.
In Tapachula, Mexico, alone, an estimated 50,000-100,000 asylum seekers are shelter in "squalid conditions," according to former foreign minister of Mexico Jorge G. Castaneda.
Biden promised in 2020 that immigration would be one of his top priorities as president. In his defense, he never said where on his list of priorities immigration would go. As it turns out, it's somewhere far, far below "weekends in Delaware."

Joe Biden escapes his White House 'gilded cage' at a faster pace than Trump (msn.com)
Well gee that means that in order to try and catch up with Trump's 38 weekends at his properties in his first year, Biden will have to spend ALL of the rest of the weekends this year in Delaware.
See 2.4 and maybe read the other link..
That would be fine if the ignorant POS could do something positive for America. We wouldn't care where he did it from.

I guess you would rather having him play golf 5 days a week like Trump did and that you and yours were okay with.
You know that Trump has properties in states other than FL and NJ right?
The author is trying to pull a fast one. Failed.
Pulling a "Fact Check"???
Failed.
Trump has a properties in both Virginia and DC 1st. He spent weekends at BOTH during his first year in office.
What's your point? Yeah, both have "properties" - BUT - Biden spends more time at his than your TDS did.
The author's point has been made. What's your point?
No matter how many times you claim that, it's still false 1st. Trump spent 38 weekends at his own properties in his first year in office.
Yes, he whined about Biden going to Delaware 24 times. I think that comparing that to Trump's 38 is relevant.
Figure it out for yourself 1st.
You don't have one - got it.
Your reasoning is limited.
From the article GregTx linked at 1
So 108 days for Biden away from the White House; as compared to 61 days by Trump over the same time period.
You were saying about Trump?
TDS
Oh, is that what Kamala is doing? After all, she is "in charge" of correcting the overflow from down south. Just haven't seen her near a border other than passing through on her way to Cali for a "retreat".
this is the most time a president has spent away from the White House on personal travel at this point in the presidency in recent history.
Apples and Oranges Paula.
It's really sad that our country is so culpable in the human tragedy occurring. Many think these migrants will get a better life here but the reality is many are indentured servants to violent drug cartels with networks in all 50 states. Women and children sold for sex, men working for nothing paying cartels for their trip to a better life that will never come. We are an awful country for promoting this.
Biden and his progressive stooges are promoting this.
I don’t care where presidents flop at night. I never have and I never will. I don’t care if they spend one night in the White House. I also don’t care if they golf every damned day. The only thing I care about is the job they do. You can be at the White House 24/7/365 and still be a slacker. Or you can work from home or a vacation house and get a bunch of shit done. Lots of people do.
I agree, however when you're not getting a bunch of shit done people start to take notice.
On the other hand, they do less harm that way, too.
Doing nothing about the border crisis and the US citizens Biden abandoned in Afghanistan is absolutely harmful.
i wouldn't disagree with that thought either. However when that becomes the main positive then essentially their job becomes to do "less harm". Kinda a wtf moment, don't you think?
