New York Democrat Attorney General Letitia James has appointed a senior counsel who has spoken about her desire to use the state office to "prosecute" and "abolish" Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Zephyr Teachout announced that she would be taking a "leave of absence from Fordham Law School to work for the great New York state attorney general @TishJames asa a special adviser and senior counsel for economic justice."
Teachout, who briefly launched a campaign for attorney general last year prior to dropping out and endorsing James, assumes her position as the state legislature considers a number of bills that would prohibit state law enforcement officers from working with ICE. Additionally, the New York City council passed a law in December that will allow noncitizens to vote in municipal elections.
In a video from her unsuccessful run for AG, Teachout spoke out against both ICE and CBP. " think it's critical that law enforcement speak out and say [ICE] is a tool of cruelty, unconstitutional behavior, illegality. I will prosecute ICE for their criminal acts," she said.
Teachout claims the agency was "born in xenophobia in the time after 9/11, and has grown up to become a tool of fear and illegality."
The attorney also campaigned on a call to end arrests for low-level crimes, arguing that the state should be focused on investigating financial crimes. "The wrong people are in jail. We have to end mass incarceration and return our focus to white collar crime," Teachout said at the time.
It may be time to investigate and or recall the NY AG.
Past time. She seems worthless..................
Her two name tags are useless & worthless.
It may be time to investigate and or recall the NY AG.
Why?
It may be appropriate that you didn't direct that question at anyone.
The answer is obvious.
Because Q has sent out multiple emails to spam folders with the reasons why?
Oh the almighty Q, you guys are always talking about, that most have never heard of
What nonsense.
The great majority of Republicans and conservatives believe in some level of political conspiracy theories.
What do you think of an AG who campaigned on prosecuting a President and now wants to prosecute ICE?
You don't think that is a little outrageous?
As a "woke" white person, I am positive he cheers that shit on!
You mean there are some who might think it normal?
The left will cheer for her appointment.
More evidence that they just don't seem to care much for law and order.
Maybe brainless Joe will nominate her for Breyer's seat?
Are we talking Barr now? Wasn't he promising to prosecute Obama when Trump hired?
The hard core liberal left generally has no problem making up their own definitions on what is considered normal or not.
Given that NY passed a law allowing illegal aliens to vote, it doesn't surprise me in the least that this liberal bottom feeder to want to prosecute people who enforce immigration law.
This is a lie. They passed a law allowing non-citizens to vote in specified local elections. Only right wingers equate non-citizens to illegals.
Thanks for the truth. That's not to be found here otherwise.
and the left wingers celebrate election interference.
Actually they were fully opposed to Trump's election interference, phone calls, lawsuits, etc.....
So against it that they launched a 4 year investigation and wasted millions only to come up empty.
Are you from the future? Jan. 6th committee has only been going for less than a year.
I know you cannot be talking the Mueller investigation, since that was started and run by Trump's own appointed republican AG. AND total of thirty-four individuals and three companies were indicted by Mueller's investigators. So, not empty.
No wonder the Left is having so many problems. They've forgotten their own past.
So what 4 year, democratic, investigation are you talking about Jeremy?

Guess she still hasn't learned that Feds outrank states.
You would think that somebody teaching at Fordham Law School would know that.
Just shows that just because somebody has a degree it doesn't make them smart.
Not that they have not learned. More like they just do not care.
