Elon Musk called the woman who accused him of sexually harassing her flight-attendant friend a 'far left' actor 'with a major political axe to grind'

Elon Musk is facing a sexual-misconduct claim relating to an incident alleged to have taken place aboard his private jet in 2016. Jae C. Hong/AP
  • Elon Musk used Twitter on Thursday to rebut a woman's claim of sexual harassment.

  • Musk called the accusations "utterly untrue" and called a person who talked to Insider a "liar."

  • He also called the source "a far left activist/actress in LA with a major political axe to grind."

Elon Musk took to Twitter on Thursday night to hit out at a woman who accused him of sexually harassing her friend aboard his private jet in 2016.

Insider published a report earlier Thursday   in which Musk was accused of exposing himself during a massage and offering to buy a horse for a SpaceX flight attendant if she were willing to perform a sex act on him.

About seven hours after the piece was published, Musk responded to a Twitter user who wrote: "Where were these wild accusations against @elonmusk before he took a stand against the establishment?"

"Exactly," Musk   tweeted ,   adding   that the "wild accusations" were "utterly untrue."

He then called out a friend of the flight attendant who had made the claims and who talked to Insider for the article.

"But I have a challenge to this liar who claims their friend saw me 'exposed' — describe just one thing, anything at all (scars, tattoos, …) that isn't known by the public," Musk   tweeted . "She won't be able to do so, because it never happened."

He went on to describe the woman's friend as "a far left activist/actress in LA with a major political axe to grind."

Asked by a Twitter user whether Musk responded to Insider's   request for comment ,   he tweeted : "No, it was clear that their only goal was a hit price to interfere with the Twitter acquisition. The story was written before they even talked to me."

Contrary to Musk's claim, Insider quoted a response from him in its article. Answering via email, he said there was "a lot more to this story."

"If I were inclined to engage in sexual harassment, this is unlikely to be the first time in my entire 30-year career that it comes to light," he wrote to Insider, also calling the story a "politically motivated hit piece."

He also requested and was given more time to respond but ultimately gave no further comment before the story was published.

Musk, the world's richest person, has repeatedly   argued   he is   being attacked for his political views . This week, he   called the Democratic Party a "party of division and hate"   while vowing to vote Republican.

I thought Musk borrowed money and he and his partners lived in their office to keep expenses low when he started Zip2.  Musk was able to persuade Navteq, to give him free mapping software. Musk wrote the code that linked business listing databases and maps together.  He grew the Zip2 by convincing businesses to pay to be included in the application.

I think that I read that he sold his first software, a game, when he was 12 years old.

What do you know about his parents and why do you think that he was never told no?

It isn't hard to imagine that growing up white in South Africa is a way to learn how to be an asshole with some poor instincts for helping to make America a better version of itself.

It's a shame because Elon Musk's engineering instincts seem to mostly have goals that are attractive to the left. The man is capable of taking leadership in getting our automobiles powered by electricity and ultimately alternative and renewable sources. He is capable of deploying solar energy and internet access to places that are off the grid.

And then the man needs to be a dick 24/7.

What a tragedy. It will ultimately be his downfall.

No, they employ and pay people to work and generate a profit for the owner(s) of the business..  I have never seen a job that gives a rat's ass about your sense of accomplishment, they leave that up to the individual employee.

Give to charity?

If it wasn't a tax write off, would they?

Give back to the community?

Would like some examples of that.

They don't have to do that you know.

Do what?

Employ people to run a business, to make a profit?  Can you list a single business that does not have any employees?

Donate to charity to write it off their taxes, or for advertisements to push their brand?

Do you realize how little sense those 2 sentences make together?

They care about our future and retirement as well as health with incentives as well as wellness programs.

The company I work for also has those options, however the truth of the matter is that they only have them because they wouldn't be able to retain any employees without them.  There is no evidence your company is any different.

Don't misunderstand.  Some companies do better by their employees than other.  I work at a good one myself.  However the truth of the matter is that they do not do any of these things, without getting something in return.  Whether it is employee retention, or appearing in such a way to attract more (better) employees.

One of the biggest things these companies see is the need to have employees in order to make money.  But too many of them, at first signs of an economic turn down, also see their employees as disposable.  They would rather eliminate those employees than have a drop in their profit margin.

Stock options Musk was awarded in 2012 are set to expire in August next year. In order to exercise them, he has to pay income tax on the gain.

Rather than take a salary or cash bonus, Musk’s wealth comes from stock awards and gains in Tesla’s share price.

Though Tesla shares have taken a tumble since Musk’s Twitter poll, they remain incredibly valuable — the stock is up 28% year-to-date.

When Musk wants cash, he can simply borrow money using his company’s stock as collateral. However, this practice has been criticized by some politicians as a   tax loophole   for the mega-rich.

Earlier this year, ProPublica   published an investigation   showing Musk and several other billionaires paid no federal income taxes in 2018.

Between 2014 and 2018, Musk paid $455 million in taxes on $1.52 billion of income, according to ProPublica, despite his wealth growing by $13.9 billion over that period.

Thanks Ender, but I know how it works .. I just cannot miss an opportunity to get my digs in when it come to the whack a doo's in DC crying that billionaires do not pay their fair share, billionaires do pay their fair share - corporations may not, but that is not the billionaires fault ..  For as 'smart' as our elected officials claim to be somehow they just cannot separate the 2 [it is a head shaker]

You must not have individuals in your personal life with Asperger's .. they are definitely very unique people [I can see how some think they are nutjobs] a childhood friend of my oldest son has Asperger's.. they have been buddies for almost 22 years.  He just moved back to town, I had not seen him in a couple years ... he is now a 31 year old man soooo intelligent, doing well for himself, great job etc - but there is still that same 9 year kid that could make me cringe at the lack of filter .. or just simply crack me up because of his lack of filter .. never a dull moment!

Yep. The man pays far more in taxes that anybody here will ever see in their lifetimes.

That he pays 11 billion in taxes is a lie.

So I showed what he has actually paid. I showed he doesn't take a salary as a way to not have to pay taxes on it. I showed where the 11 billion figure comes from, not him paying it ever. It is something he will owe capitol gains taxes on on stocks he was awarded.

And you blame the people in DC and act like he actually pays 11 billion...

So because he supposedly has a form of autism, no one is allowed to critique him?

I have a 22 year old grandson with Aspergers who lives with me so I get where you are coming from, and the young man has a near genius IQ. But as you said, lack of filter, and also as you said cracks me up a lot of times. Cannot imagine him not being in my life.

People like Musk threaten our friends on the left.    He doesn’t automatically goose step to their liberal/progressive narrative so he must be attacked.

Such is the modus operandi of that hive mind.

This is pretty shocking. It took the dems a full month to find someone to accuse Elon of sexual misconduct after he had the audacity to buy one of their branches of propaganda. They are slipping. Maybe they were looking for another way to call Republicans racist and when they found replacement bullshit they could turn their full attention to try and bring Elon down.

I have an alternate take. Elon doesn't mind the hot press he will get telling the sub-billionaire class that they can get happy endings in outer space.

What else is SpaceX good for?

Without SpaceX would would still be dependent on Russia for International Space Station Support and without Starllink, Ukraine might be losing.

Before I go .. I must ask where do you get your information from, as I think you should avoid that source .. I am beginning to wonder if you even know who  Elon Musk is....

I can't stay mad at Elon Musk as an engineer tech entrepreneur.

But as a human being the man needs work.
