Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) caused a stir this week when she took the floor of the House to oppose a gun safety bill and in the process seemed to vow to shoot her own grandchildren.
“I have five grandchildren,” the congresswoman began in her Tuesday speech. “I would do anything— anything —to protect my five grandchildren. Including, as a last resort, shooting them, if I had to, to protect the lives of my grandchildren.” Growing more angry, Lesko then accused Democrats of trying to “take away my right to protect my grandchildren” and “the rights of law-abiding citizens to protect their own children.”
“It never ceases to amaze me the lengths gun control zealots will go!” Lesko wrote on Twitter . “They turned my speech about protecting Second Amendment rights and my right to protect my grandchildren from violent criminals into a claim I would harm my own grandchildren. Absolutely ridiculous!”
Lesko, who won her Arizona district’s special election by a slim margin in 2018, does have a history of inflammatory statements, including anti-vaccine rhetoric that preceded the COVID-19 pandemic. She recently received Donald Trump’s endorsement for her 2022 re-election campaign.

Sounds like you have to be batshit crazy to fit in with the majority of the republicans nowadays.
The lady misspoke, I think she left an entire sentence out of her speech and so now she looks like a fool.
She should have took a couple deep breaths before she opened her mouth, but she was 'enraged' by the 'gun grabbers'.
I see where she may have left out the sentence - but these morons are so intent on arming everyfuckingone.
There is a lot of stuff going on in Maryland about open carry laws - and concealed carry - like everywhere now I guess.
I don't know why you would want to open carry unless you're a police officer or security guard. What are you trying to prove with a gun on your hip or openly displayed?
