When you posted this article I was listening to probably the greatest impromptu session in music history.
1987 Palomino Club in North Hollywood, CA.
Taj Mahal was playing with Jesse Ed Davis and in walks, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, and John Fogerty joined Taj and Jesse Ed for an unforgettable session.
John Turdell, Bob Dylan, George Harrison and Jesse Ed Davis.
I was just getting breakfast toasted muffin and Vegemite and Ringo Starr's Photograph was playing on the radio..I just thought thank goodness we had decent music then...
Every Sunday morning they play two hours of 70s 80s music..nice way to start the day....🌅
It's mine, too, and I love everything Brian's ever written. Although, God Only Knows comes in a close second.
Darlin is on the Wild Honey album, which was released in 1967. The night it was released one of our local A.M. radio stations, KRLA, played the entire album without interruption. I've never forgotten that.
No music today, but yesterday I watched the 1960 The Magnificent Seven and High Noon, so that music remains. However, now that I have music on my mind I'm going to listen to Andrea Bocelli and his daughter sing Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.
Once I listened to Hallelujah, I got in the mood to listen to some more music so I listened to Bocelli do a duet with Sarah Brightman singing It's Time to Say Goodbye, and that got me to listen to some of The Phantom of the Opera, and then I was really into listening to music so I listened to and watched the whole Concert for George (Harrison). I'll not bother linking them here because if anyone is interested they can pick them up on YouTube.
I just ran across these videos this morning. They not popular music , but I thought they were inspirational. Alabama teens were slated to sing at the Cherry Blossom Festival. While in DC, they visited the Jefferson Memorial and sang our National Anthem. Observe how quiet the visitors became.
My thanks John. During my time at McMurdo Station, Antarctica I used to listen to this CD at night to relax and fall asleep while the wind raged outside. Brings back a lot of memories.

I just listened to these wonderful songs.
According to wikipedia, Brian Wilson has said that Darlin' is his favorite Beach Boys song, because of the melody.

Summer is near and the Beach Boys recorded another winner with Kokomo. It's hard to believe that it was 35 years ago.
I love that song, too. It was everywhere at the time I met Matt, so it makes me think of him with a smile.
I love the song "Darlin' ". Not your typical Beach Boys song.
Another gem from the past...still together after 50+ years.
John Williams...still working at age 90!

Exquisite!
Both those movies had great music associated with them.

Getting into a summer place of mind:
great acoustic work
Maybe my first reggae album.
This is one of my favorite music videos. I love the song and the audience looks so happy.

More about them:
At the moment I'm listening to the background music that plays during the weather forecase on the Weather channel
Vangelis's soundtrack from "Blade Runner".
My thanks as I am a big fan of Vangelis. Sadly he passed away not too long ago. The man was a genius. My actual favorite is Vangelis's "Antarctica".
