Because mocowgirl and GregTx don't identify their choices in text along with the YouTubes I don't know if I might be repeating any that they posted, and although I have access to most of these songs on the two websites I have access to here I won't bother to provide links because one requires you to watch a short commercial first and the other breaks in with an interfering page requiring you to delete it and re- click the arrow to continue watching the rest of the song. However you are bound to find these songs on YouTube.
It shouldn't be a surprise that I would choose folk songs. Save for the Carter Family and Woody Guthrie I have watched all the others perform live and met most of them personally. The images of all the other performers are as they were when I first met them personally or watched them perform live.

Nat King Cole was truly one of the great voices in music.
This bears repeating....best version ever.
Ella Fitzgerald - Summertime (1968) - YouTube
By probably the best jazz/blues/pop music singer ever. But, of course, there was Aretha.

The Circle of Life
This is a performer that I would love to hear live. This was just a random video I was recommended due to the AI gods.
Life Changes
Speaking of melancholy, this Manhattan supper club singer leapt to her death from the balcony of her apartment at age 55.
The People You Never Get To Meet - Susannah McCorkle
I can’t post YouTube videos for some reason, other than by a link.
I'll have to ask why.
So open the link in a browser. Then copy what is in the address bar. That is a good URL.

Rene & Angela - You Don't Have To Cry
Luther Vandross - A House Is Not a Home (from Live at Wembley)
Pretty much anything Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits ever did.
Lucky enough to see them live a few times. Amazing shows! Pure music!
Saw Dire Straits as a hard core rock band and a sit down acoustic band. Both good.
The Rose - Bette Midler
Raglan Road - Jim McCann
Yesterday When I Was Young - Dusty Springfield
