A Palestinian poll amid acts of valor
"You have a mandate to fight, you have no mandate to stop" Bereaved families, members of the Forum of Heroism, demand that the government continue the war until the goals are achieved: Our sons did not fall in vain. Netanyahu: "I would like to reply to the dear families: The will of the fallen is what guides us. We will fight to the end" "The nation is strong and its spirit is strong, the civilians and heroic soldiers are determined to achieve total victory," the families wrote.

For those who believe there is any distinction between the sentiments of the Palestinian people and those they elected, there is a new poll out:

The survey was conducted from Nov. 22 to Dec. 2 among 1,231 people in the West Bank and Gaza and had an error margin of 4 percentage points. In Gaza, poll workers conducted 481 in-person interviews during a weeklong cease-fire that ended Dec. 1.

Palestinian poll shows a rise in Hamas support and close to 90% | AP News

Among the findings:

57% of respondents in Gaza and 82% in the West Bank believe Hamas was correct in launching the October attack.

Only 10% said they believed Hamas has committed war crimes.

Shikaki said support for the PA declined further, with nearly 60% now saying it should be dissolved.

The question is what is the difference between the Palestinians and Hamas?

As the US leftwing media tries to undermine Israel's effort to win the war, we hear this daily recitation of why Israel's Prime Minister should be removed by any method possible. Israel is on a mission to destroy terrorist organizations and once they succeed, justice will never have been better served. In the meantime, the Houthi rebels, whom Joe Biden has removed from terrorist status, continue to target shipping in the Red Sea:

"The USS Carney once again shot down multiple drones launched from Yemen earlier today.

The U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, operating in the Red Sea, engaged a drone swarm launched from parts of Yemen controlled by Houthi rebels, according to U.S. Central Command. The engagement took place early on Saturday, Dec. 16 local time.

CENTCOM did not elaborate on the details, including what the likely targets were, or how long the engagement lasted.

The USS Carney’s action came a day after Houthis launched a drone and a missile respectively at a pair of commercial ships traveling through the Red Sea. The MSC Alanya, flying under a Liberian flag, was directed by Houthis to turn south to the end of the sea. The ship continued heading north, in contact with the U.S. Two hours later, a single UAV launched from Yemen hit another Liberian-flagged ship, the Al Jasrah, and struck the ship, starting a fire. Midday on Friday, CENTCOM said that two ballistic missiles were sent toward the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. It hit the Liberian-flagged MV Palatium 3, starting another fire. The USS Mason answered its mayday call. However, no one was injured in these attacks, according to CENTCOM."

The Biden gang is keeping a tight lid on details.

Five days ago, in an urban ambush 9 Israeli soldiers were killed. The reason for this close combat was that Israel was trying to avoid the kind of bombing that would kill civilians. What other army takes such losses to protect civilians?  The very civilians that Hamas puts in harm's way. Nine valiant men lost to do what a fighter jet could have done.

In other news:

The US Senate has remained in session this week, rather than starting its holiday recess, so that its members can continue to negotiate over border security measures. Can you imagine negotiating the nation's security?  Republicans will not pass a foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan unless it includes policies to tighten the southern border. Thus far after 3 year Joe Biden remains committed to an open border policy. During his 2020 campaign he went on "Univision" (a democrat propaganda outlet for Spanish speaking people) and said:

"I would in fact make sure that there is, that we immediately surge to the border -- all those people are seeking asylum. They deserve to be heard," Biden said. "That's who we are. We're a nation that says, 'If you want to flee and you're fleeing oppression, you should come.'"

Biden Called for the Border Surge, and Now He Owns It | RealClearPolitics

Biden though backed into a corner, shows no signs of honoring American Immigration Law. (Which should = Article 1 of Impeachment)

Good morning.

I am told that the traditional "heavy drinking" Christmas office parties are fading away.

And another day begins in Joe Biden's America.

all those people are seeking asylum

IF they were seeking asylum then why is this in the news:

10 explosives found at southern border

After the Mexican military confiscated ten improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at the southern border, the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is alerting agents to “exercise extreme caution” and watch for additional explosive devices.

They're all "seeking asylum" my ass.

S ami Abu Zuhri, a senior Hamas official, called for  violence  against the U.S. and U.K. in response to their support for Israel’s actions in Gaza.

He specifically  targeted  Secretary of State Tony Blinken and urged violent acts against American and British interests, as well as those of other countries supporting the occupation.

News reporting is beginning to make plain that unbiased liberal sentiment is shifting toward throwing Israel under the bus.  Unbiased liberals cannot accept that nation building will never work in Gaza and the West Bank.  The unbiased liberals are wedded to a two state solution that Palestinians never accepted.  Palestinians ain't gonna eat Madeleine Albright's peas.    (Yes, unbiased liberals have been blaming Benjamin Netanyahu for a very long time.)

The problem for unbiased liberals is they desperately need Benjamin Netanyahu now.  Great liberal thinkers and politicians will gradually drift toward calls for fearsome sanctions against Israel -- until Benjamin Netanyahu is removed.  So, now, Israel must ramp up its military efforts in Gaza (strike 'em more often, strike 'em harder) while the unbiased liberal elite quaver and equivocate.  Netanyahu will be the convenient scapegoat that provides a degree of separation between the destruction of Gaza and the Israeli people, in liberal minds.  Of course, Palestinians won't see it that way and will blame the decadent liberal west.

So, the unbiased liberals are preparing the world for another decade of Arab unrest.  Third verse same as the first.  We've heard all of this before.  Nothing will change until unbiased liberals join the rest of us in the real world.

We see it right here almost every day of the week is some silly article claiming that the only solution is to give the Palestinians a fifth chance to live in peace right next door to Israel. They walk a fine line in presenting the fiction that there are two legitimate sides to this.

Well, there are two legitimate sides.  Israel has accepted the legitimacy of the Palestinian side.  But Palestinians have reject the legitimacy of the Israeli side.

The unbiased liberal thinkers and politicians won't accept any responsibility for holding Israel and Palestine to an agreement.  Palestinians engage in terror and the liberals stain their frillies excusing the terror while avoiding responsibility or accountability.  The only way a two-state solution is going to work is for someone to put their knee on Palestinian necks and force them to coexist with Israel.

Where's the damned United Nations we keep subsidizing?  Where's the EU?  Where's all the unbiased liberal finger waggers?  I'd be willing to bet that if we gave both Gaza and the West Bank to China then Palestine would become an exceedingly prosperous part of the world.  China seems to know how to leverage capitalism to achieve positive geopolitical outcomes.  Something the unbiased liberal thinkers have destroyed in the west.

For that matter, where are the Arab countries?  They want no part of the Palestinians. A good homeland might be in Iran. Why hasn't Iran made the offer?

China does seem to know how do leverage Capitalism. Then again, even the old Ottoman Empire had a way of dealing with the Arabs.

Here's a good explanation of what he actually wrote.  The headlines are wrong.

This makes it clear that the Church still forbids the blessing of these unions, and for that matter, forbids the blessing of the   relationships   between “couples in irregular situations,” referring to cohabitating heterosexual couples. What priests  can   do is offer blessings to the  individuals involved   in these “irregular situations,” not as a  sotto voce   approval of sin but as a call to bring them closer to the Lord.

This becomes explicit in paragraphs 5 and 6, which utterly contradict both the headline and lead above:

5. This is also the understanding of marriage that is offered by the Gospel. For this reason, when it comes to blessings, the Church has the right and the duty to avoid any rite that might contradict this conviction or lead to confusion. Such is also the meaning of the   Responsum  of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which states that the Church does not have the power to impart blessings on unions of persons of the same sex.

6. It should be emphasized that in the Rite of the Sacrament of Marriage, this concerns not just any blessing but a gesture reserved to the ordained minister. In this case, the blessing given by the ordained minister is tied directly to the specific union of a man and a woman, who establish an exclusive and indissoluble covenant by their consent. This fact allows us to highlight the risk of confusing a blessing given to any other union with the Rite that is proper to the Sacrament of Marriage.

And again in paragraph 11:

11. Basing itself on these considerations, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith’s  Explanatory Note  to its 2021  Responsum  recalls that when a blessing is invoked on certain human relationships by a special liturgical rite, it is necessary that what is blessed corresponds with God’s designs written in creation and fully revealed by Christ the Lord. For this reason, since the Church has always considered only those sexual relations that are lived out within marriage to be morally licit, the Church does not have the power to confer its liturgical blessing when that would somehow offer a form of moral legitimacy to a union that presumes to be a marriage or to an extra-marital sexual practice. The Holy Father reiterated the substance of this Declaration in his  Respuestas  to the  Dubia  of   two Cardinals.
