Another monster lie.

Another monster lie.
"Claims that [Texas Military Dept] prevented Border Patrol from saving the lives of drowning migrants are wholly inaccurate. At the time that Border Patrol requested access, the drownings had occurred, Mexican authorities were recovering the bodies, and Border Patrol expressed these facts to the TMD personnel on site," the Texas Military Dept. said in a statement.

On Friday night a woman and two children drowned near Eagle Pass. They were illegally trying to cross into the US. Had anyone seen them they would have naturally tried to save them. However, Joe Biden and his handlers tried to blame the state of Texas for the deaths since Texas is trying to protect its borders. The Biden administration falsely claimed that Texas officials blocked U.S. Border Patrol from attempting to provide emergency assistance. That was an outright lie. Texas officials didn't get notice of the event until after the tragedy had occurred:

However, in a court filing as part of ongoing litigation, the DOJ said Mexican officials advised Border Patrol at 9 p.m. local time that the migrants had drowned at 8 p.m -- but that there were an additional two migrants "in distress" on the U.S. side of the border. The filing repeats the claim that Border Patrol was not allowed to enter the area "even in emergency situations." The two additional migrants were later rescued by Mexican officials while suffering from hypothermia.

However, the DOJ suggested that it may have been able to spot the migrants if they had access to the area.

"It is impossible to say what might have happened if Border Patrol had had its former access to the area -- including through its surveillance trucks that assisted in monitoring the area," they said. "At the very least, however, Border Patrol would have had the opportunity to take any available steps to fulfill its responsibilities and assist its counterparts in the Mexican government with undertaking the rescue mission. Texas made that impossible."

Texas had initially pushed back on the narrative, saying that claims of requesting access to save distressed migrants "are inaccurate"

Gov. Abbott blamed lawmakers and some media outlets for being "so eager to point finger at Texas for drowning of migrants they forgot to get the facts."

The administration didn't stop when it should have. The president's incompetent press secretary was confronted by Fox News hottie reporter Jacqui Heinrich :

It was tough to watch, but as usual Karine had an impossible task. Lie after lie came out of her mouth. Can you imagine how those who watch this nonsense must feel about this president.

Another staggering loss for Joe Biden.

A group of 14 Democrats sided with Republicans on Wednesday in denouncing President Joe Biden's policies surrounding the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Republican-led House  voted 225-187  in favor of the resolution, sponsored by Rep. Nathaniel Moran, R-Texas, that called on Biden to end his so-called "open-border policy," identifying the situation at the southern border as a national crisis.

What Border Crossing Data Shows

According to a  Newsweek  analysis of data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, overall encounters under the Biden administration have continued to trend higher than in previous years before recently decreasing in June. While the number of migrant encounters has fallen, those figures remain significantly higher than when Trump was in office.

Migrant encounters during the Trump administration did generally trend downward after he instituted the Remain in Mexico policy, which required asylum-seekers to wait in Mexico for their hearings in U.S. immigration court. Initially, there had been an uptick in encounters after the policy took effect in January 2019. However, by the end of that year, encounters had fallen below the figures seen a year before and remained relatively low until March 2021, which was when the Biden administration first faced national criticism related to the border.

Trump's Remain in Mexico policy stayed in place until August, when Biden was finally able to lift the program after months of a legal back-and-forth. It is unclear what the true impact of revoking the policy is. The number of encounters in the month since the policy was reversed have yet to be released, and even if they were, it is likely too early to extrapolate conclusions about the Trump-era policy.

Impact of Title 42

Experts also caution against relying solely on historical comparisons to understand the impact of immigration policies. Because pandemic-era factors like Title 42 halted the processing of all asylum-seekers who arrived at ports of entry, a revolving-door effect has ensued.

"The high numbers we are seeing now is largely the result of the same people trying to cross again and being caught again, which is in part the consequence of Title 42," Ieva Jusionyte, an associate professor on international security at Brown University, told  Newsweek . "Because regular processing of asylum-seekers has been suspended since March 2020, more people have been waiting in Mexico to make their claims and new migrants join them every day, fleeing their home countries for reasons that were there during Trump."

Newsweek 's analysis shows that while the number of Title 42 expulsions accounted for just over 20 percent of apprehensions in March of 2020, the figure rose to 90 percent and hovered steadily around that mark until the end of that year. In July of this year, Title 42 expulsions accounted for less than 38 percent of encounters.

On Sunday, Vice President  Kamala Harris  told  NBC 's  Meet the Press  that she was confident the border is secure, but added, "We also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed." Her comment was criticized both by  Republicans  and members of the press given recent migrant deaths and busing of migrants across the country.

It's possible the number of encounters is inflated from people making repeated attempts to cross. Each time a person is apprehended is considered one encounter, regardless of whether it's their first attempt.

"Would-be asylum-seekers who have turned themselves in to Border Patrol agents and were quickly expelled under Title 42 authority have tried again, and again," Wayne Cornelius, the director of UC San Diego's Mexican Migration Field Research Program, told  Newsweek . "They show up in Border Patrol stats as multiple encounters rather than discrete individuals."

The Story the Data Doesn't Tell

And data only reveals so much about immigration policies. What the data doesn't show is the result of the encounters (whether a visa was granted or not), and more importantly, how many people slipped through the border undetected, what is known as the "got away" ratio.

"The Border Patrol has never developed a scientifically defensible methodology for estimating the number of undetected entries," Cornelius said.

Because of the lapse in data, the high number of encounters seen under the Biden administration could mean that the border is more secure. Yet, it could also mean that the border is less secure because more people have slipped past the border, although Cornelius said there has been no evidence from government or academic sources that the ratio has changed significantly.

He added that there is no evidence that border enforcement has declined under Biden. While there has been a higher percentage of asylum-seekers paroled into the U.S. to await their hearings, it is a trend that has been seen in previous administrations, "and the differences from the Obama and Trump years to Biden are not that striking."

At the end of the day, Jusionyte said, "We just don't know what we don't know—that is, how many people succeed in crossing the border without being apprehended." With the limited numbers provided by the government, she said it's likely that humanitarian organizations providing aid to migrants are the ones with the best sense as to whether there truly is an influx of migrants.

Because they meet the people both before they cross and after," Jusionyte said these groups would be able to better "compare the situation under [the] Biden and Trump administrations."

They need the border czar Kamelbreath to go there and look for the root cause.  Of course if she did she would find the root cause is Biden not doing his job protecting the border and hanging up signs saying "comeon down".

Legal Document Suggests DA Fani Willis May Be Subject to RICO CHARGES Over Purported 'Inappropriate Relationship' with Prosecutor in Trump Investigation in Georgia..

The court petition claims Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade “have been engaged in an improper, clandestine PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP during the pendency of this case, which has resulted in the special prosecutor, and, in turn, the district attorney, profiting significantly from this prosecution at the expense of the taxpayers.”

So, where was the Coast Guard?  Rescuing people in navigable waters of the United States is within the authority of the USGG.

Why aren't the bleeding hearts crowd funding flotation devices for these poor, disadvantaged border jumpers?  Pool noodles don't cost that much.

No, this seems like nothing more than an attempt by DHS Washington staff to show they're on top of the situation and doing something.  That's a lie, of course, but it's how administrators do things.

I guess the C in C is too busy "campaigning" to worry much about the border.

Ah, who am I kidding? Traitor Joe doesn't give a damn about the border other than the Republican Governors are making him look like the fool he is.

Well, that and some Democratic mayors keep whining about the cost of aliens.

Why does the GOP refuse to do anything about the border? This has been proposed by the current admin, but republicans don't want it. Weird!

Hiring Spree Much of the supplemental money would go toward hiring.  The administration says the funds would allow for the hiring of an additional 1,300 border patrol agents, 300 border patrol processing coordinators and support staff, 1,000 Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers, 1,600 asylum officers and support staff, and 1,470 Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) attorneys. The attorneys would match the 375 new immigration judge teams to speed up the processing of immigration requests. Thirty (30) new U.S. Customs and Immigration Service (USCIS) officers would be hired to speed up issuing work authorization documents for eligible noncitizens.

The GOP doesn't want to fix the border, it's their perfect campaign football.

Because we don't need to turn the southern border into one gigantic Democrat processing plant.

Which is all Brandon's idea will do.

It will do jack shit of nothing to close the border or stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the country.

Nothing weird about not supporting that POS legislation.

Why does the GOP refuse to do anything about the border?

Because the Biden Dumpster Fire has blocked every attempt to do anything about the border.  Or did you all forget:

  • On day one Traitor Joe signed an EO stopping construction of any border structures.
  • Arizona and Texas were sued to removed shipping containers they put in place to secure their sections of the border.
  • Texas is being sued by the Biden Dumpster Fire over the state's implementation of a new immigration law allowing state and local law enforcement officials to arrest, jail and prosecute migrants who may have entered the U.S. illegally.  You know, something the Biden Dumpster Fire is supposed to be enforcing.

It is kind of funny that now that Democrat run sanctuary shitholes are having to deal with a very small slice of the illegals border states deal with the left is now crying about the border.  All this despite Traitor Joe and that idiot Mayorkis lying to the country claiming the border is secure.

Texas is refusing to comply with a   cease-and-desist letter   from the Biden administration over actions by the state that have impeded U.S. Border Patrol agents from accessing part of   the border with Mexico .

In a   letter   to the Department of Homeland Security, Texas Attorney General   Ken Paxton   rejected the Biden administration’s request for the state to “cease and desist” its takeover of Shelby Park, an epicenter of southwest border illegal immigration in Eagle Pass.

"Because the facts and law side with Texas, the State will continue utilizing its constitutional authority to defend her territory, and I will continue defending those lawful efforts in court," Paxton wrote.
