We know pollution is a problem on earth, but we’re filling space with our junk too.
And if we don’t figure out a way to clean up space junk,
we could end our interstellar dreams before they even get started.
Today, we’re visiting some cool engineers in Switzerland to learn about the space junk problem and the giant space claw that might be the perfect solution.
Capitalists consider that "if no one can show clear title, we can do whatever we want".
The communications businesses alone - not just Musk - are putting up huge numbers of satellites, each one accompanied by shrouds, nosecones, whatever...
Libertarians' heaven. Literally.
We have polluted the lakes, rivers, oceans and terra firma and now we've moved to space to do what we seem to do best, pollute.
I would think the millions of shotgun pellet size pieces are of more danger than whatever Giant Claw can grab.
I think so, too.
I've seen "magnetic brooms" proposed. Collecting small stuff doesn't present the same problem of needing to match speed and vector.
