Gold Star Father Arrested for State of the Union Heckling
“Abbey Gate” and “United States Marines”, Steve Nikoui

In an amazing display of the "empathy" for families of fallen servicemen that President Biden is always talking Steve Nikoui was arrested at the State of the Union speech trying to bring national attention  to the total failure of the exit from Afghanistan orchestrated by this administration.

I guess they didn't give the president a coin with "Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui" written on it.

The clowning, shouting and campaigning by the president and the misbehavior of members of the House and this Gold Star Father gets arrested.

Pitiful

( NewsNation ) — The father of a marine who died in the   Kabul International Airport bombing   during the 2021 U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan faces charges after interrupting   President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address   Thursday night.

Steve Nikoui , 51, father of Marine Lance Cpl.   Kareem M. Nikoui , who was just 20 years old when he was killed, was arrested Thursday after shouting “Abbey Gate” and “United States Marines” during Biden’s speech.

The two phrases were references to the deadly bombing in which his son, 12 other American service members and 170 Afghan civilians were killed.

The United States Capitol Police charged Steve Nikoui with a misdemeanor that carries a maximum fine of $500 and up to 90 days in prison.

“Tonight at approximately 10:15 p.m., a man disrupted the   State of the Union   address by yelling. Our officers warned him to stop and when he did not, the man was removed from the House Galleries and was arrested for D.C. Code § 22–1307 – Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding. Disrupting the Congress and demonstrating in the Congressional Buildings is illegal,” the Capitol police said in a statement to NewsNation.

In a statement to NewsNation, the Capitol police said it was a routine charge on Capitol Hill and that people who illegally demonstrate or disrupt Congress are typically released after they pay a $50 fine. The department said the misdemeanor charge is typically resolved without going to court.

Steve Nikoui was a guest of Florida Republican Rep. Brian Mast, who was outraged by the arrest.

This is the era of the radical left. They control the university, the media and the federal government.

They do it all brazenly with a grin.

Should they have let him keep screaming, when was he going to stop ?

At worst he'll pay a $50 fine and now he has national publicity for his cause.

seems like a good deal for him

John

You are probably right about the plea and the fine

But what if, he would demand a trial by jury and the subpoenas started flying for Biden, Harris and other high ups in the DoD and the Pentagon.  That would make for some interesting TV and newspaper stories during the campaign.

Not likely, but it would be "must see TV" right?

C'mon man, this isn't something new, protesting at the SOTU has always resulted in arrest regardless of party.

Maybe he should have shut the fuck up and express his feelings in an appropriate setting instead.

Regardless of ones sympathetic excuses, politics or who is President just try disrupting a State of the Union Address and find out...

I get it. He is a MAGA hero like Kyle Rittenhouse and George Santos!

A Victim...

Wow - comparing a father who lost a son fighting for our country to idiots like Santos and Rittenhouse - you have no sense of perspective at all.

Pardon me for being unmoved by gratuitous false grace or even copious doses of feigned righteous indignation. He acted badly and was removed exactly as a sane person would expect to be.

Yes, as if President Biden knew who the krazy krank yelling gibberish from high in the gallery even was...

As if the President of the United States of America should stop his State of the Union Message in front of a national TV audience and a Joint Session of Congress to investigate who was the deranged person disrespecting everyone in America and engage a lunatic.

Irrational hatred of Biden is a Real Derangement!

I understand the grief and anger the father is going through and I would think that his yelling helped stem the hurt but I'm sure that he knew he would be tossed out of SOTU speech.

I do not have a problem with his being thrown out of the SOTU, but he should have been acknowledged from the podium by the CINC responsible for the military operation that took his sons life

How about apologizing for leaving the troops in danger?

I guess the Taliban didn't protect the perimeter.  Joe trusted them.
