White House says US support for Israel is 'ironclad,' will 'support their defense' amid Iran attack
The White House vowed Saturday that the United States' support for Israel's security is "ironclad," pledging to stand with the Jewish state and "support their defense" after Iran launched an aerial drone attack towards the country Saturday afternoon.
Iran launched drones from its own territory toward Israel late Saturday, days after its Supreme Leader warned it would hit back in response to an airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Syria that left several generals dead.
"Iran has begun an airborne attack against Israel," White House National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said in a statement Saturday. "President Biden is being regularly updated on the situation by his national security team and will meet with them this afternoon at the White House."

Iran has been attacking Israel through proxies for the last six months. Biden rewarded Iran by waiving 10 billion in sanctions in March. We are literally funding Iranian terrorism thanks to Biden.

I don't remember all the details but in today's news I read that some crazy in Australia had a knife and attacked a few people in a mall, killed at least one person, seriously wounded a few others (until someone-- I believe it was a security guard-- shot him and stopped the attack). I
Also, of course, a country with a large and powerful military (Iran) attacked Israel. Shooting a large number of drones and some missiles
So let's compare the two. Questions:
1. Which of those two incidents harmed more people?
2. Why?

First off he was a fellow Australian who did the killing..
He murdered 6 people and also stabbed a 6 month old baby..many are still on hospital..
A lone police woman shot him dead thank goodness..

What an asinine statement. In the US system, the President is the dominant power in foreign relations and he's spent the last month publicly attacking Israel and signaling a disconnect between our two countries. He's emboldened Hamas to reject cease fire after cease fire and made himself (and our country) look incredibly weak in the process.
And again, his warning of "don't" was completely ignored by Iran. As soon as Biden publicly tells a country "don't" do something, be assured they will. It's embarrassing.

Well during the Iraq War the U.S. projected ground forces into Iraq--- and we had to cross an ocean first!
The shortest route from Iran would be to cross Iraq, then Jordan, then Israel.
True, we did it in 1990 and in 2003, but that's us not Iran.
The point is-- they felt they had to attack Israel-because Israel attacked them:

So what to do?
Well, if they didn't want to start a war with Israel, but they didn't want to be seen as weak (by not attacking)-- the answer was to attack Israel, but make it so they really didn't harm Israel greatly, so there were few casualties.
Yes, shooting drones and missiles. But apparently the drones were mostly for show. Lots of drones, but few missiles.
Exactly, their “Righteous Machismo" demands an honor attack.
Because any Iranian ground attack would need to go through several countries; would take several days; would be easily tracked by US and Israeli drones and satellites; and dealt with before it ever reached Israeli soil.

What, now somebody cares what the United Nations has to say? Usually, most of the commentary on NT is about what a feckless waste of money the organization is. Recently, a lot of right-wing hyperbole has been spent on claiming the UN is anti-Israel and pro-arab. Well based on that, one reasonable conclusion would be that Iran is inept.
However, there is another possibility....
And that is-- Iran was deliberately avoiding harming the Israelis too much-- because they knew if they did, Israel would counter-attack ferociously! (Look what Israel is doing to Gaza after Hamas' brutal attack on israel).
So Iran had to attack Israel (to show they weren't afraid to retaliate for israeli attack on their consulate), but they also had to do the attack in a way that wouldn't piss the Israelis off.
Then they could have their Falafel-- and eat it to! (To coin a phrase).

Iranian missile and drone attacks were launched at Israel from positions in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen. Given the varying distances from launch sites and the varying speeds between the missiles and drones, If Iran wanted to overwhelm Israeli AMD, they needed to do a better job of synchronizing the launches.
Perhaps Israel will show them how it is done.
IMO Israel could humiliate Iran by not retaliating, in other words acting as if Israel treated Iran like a fly landing on its arm and brushing it away as if it were meaningless, since Iran's 170 drones, 30 cruise missiles and 100 ballistic missiles accomplished almost nothing.

I am not sure Israel has the resources to take on such an initiative. They are stretched pretty thin right now. But if they could nullify enemy command and control without triggering more repercussions then that would be sensible.

We deployed around 470,000 across all Services and the Britts added 50,000 to face around 300,000 Iraqis in Kuwait. We lost about the same to non-hostile action while losing less the 150 to combat while killing around 35,000 Iraqi military.
Highway 80 (AKA Highway of Death) was nothing but an air power turkey shoot. From about 20 miles west of Kuwait City to the border, almost 3,000 vehicles were destroyed.
This short, war taught me the value of endless training and complete preparation.
