Karen Carpenter had one of the sweetest, clearest voices ever, IMO.

She was great.

Hi shona.  One of my dearest friends for 40 years, who passed away 5 years ago at age 90, was a leading studio drummer, and he played on most of The Carpenters' records.  He called me totally shaken up the day Karen died.  She was only 32.  A tragedy indeed.  This is the link to an interview he did about The Carpenters that you might find interesting: .

All of her friends saw her weight loss and saw her death coming. Seems nobody did anything about her disease.

Ever watch Jaco Pastorius play the bass guitar?

He's one weird dude...

As a long-time bassist, Jaco inspired my fast fingers.

Jack Bruce inspired my melodic tendencies.

Actually, learned from every note I ever heard.

Anything sung by Andrea Bocelli, IMO the most magnificent voice of these times.

Best band on the planet for decades now has been Led Zeppelin.

Best first album ever was Led Zeppelin.

You're entitled to your opinion on that but I don't really agree.

My posts are two songs by Steve Winwood, so other than being British, I don't know that he has much to do with Led Zeppelin.  I did read somewhere that Jimmy Page liked Winwood as a possible lead singer, though, along with a few others.
