Even on former President Jimmy Carter's 100th birthday, former President Donald Trump could not pass up reprising his longstanding jab at the Georgia Democrat.
In Waunakee, Wisconsin, Trump was lambasting Democratic President Joe Biden, calling him "the worst president," and declaring Carter "the happiest man because Carter is considered a brilliant president by comparison."
It was hollow praise for the one-term president defeated for reelection in 1980 by Ronald Reagan, but who has gone on to become a respected world figure since his presidency.
All without even a nod to Carter's birthday and status as the longest-living former president, who has also been living in hospice care for 19 months.

Good man and a fine person. But he was an awful president.
Yet, Carter is ranked mid pack and Trump is rated dead last...
No one rational could say the same about Trump.
no patriot either ...
Carter can still think more clearly than Trump.
Carter has been a great ex-president. I voted for him in 76 but not 80.
Comparing Carter to Trump is comparing a diamond to a turd.
In a time where some continually excuse the importance of character, there comes a time when common decency is important.
That this aberration of a ‘leader’ will not, cannot, rise to the occasion in making the simplest of conciliatory gestures is once again beyond the pale.
He deserves every thing he has coming to him…legally, electorally, and spiritually.
Trump was roundly defeated by the Biden in an election, was annihilated by Harris in a debate, and will be roundly defeated in this election. Considering how dumb (even mentally disabled) he claims these opponents are, what does that make him?
what does that make him?
He will always be remembered as the asshole that kept Hillary off of the throne.
… and as a truly deplorable person.
No, it makes Trump a loser...
You realize he was president right?
Trump never got over 50% of the votes!
He won only one election by pulling an inside straight in the Electoral College...
And he was the president
Was, past tense, a one term President who is losing again!
Doesn't change the fact Trump never won with a majority.
Pretty sure he had the majority in what counted or he would not have been president
I believe that "what counted" was not the popular vote.
You would think anyone that supported Hillary would have known that before the actual election and told her not to ignore any states.
Except, Trump still cannot admit he lost 2020...
Trump is an idiot but he was still a president
"Was" as in past tense because Joe Biden whooped him!
He will still be a "Was" after Kamala Harris whoops him...
Joe biden will soon be a was so what is your point?
I did not care much for Carter's presidency but Trump will be exceedingly lucky to live as long and be as well liked as Jimmy Carter is today.
Well, President Carter said that he is staying alive so that he can vote for Kamala Harris.
MAGA should look at Carter to see how a real man operates.
What an asshole. What an absolute asshole. Why would anyone vote for this selfish prick?
Every living president - both Democrats and Republicans - made public videos praising Carter and wishing him well on his birthday. Every. single. one.
But not Trump.
Even if you don’t have something positive to say…even if if you can’t find the grace to say “Happy Birthday” to a 100 year-old man who is no threat to you…how hard is it to just be neutral? If you can’t bring yourself to say something nice, how about just shut the fuck up? Don’t mention him.
But not Trump.
On this occasion, he unnecessarily went out of his way to talk shit about a man who has lived a life of incomparable service. Jimmy Carter has set an example Trump could never hope to live up to.
I think the Narcissist-in-Chief just could not stomach the idea that some presidential person was in the news for a nice thing and it wasn’t him.
Having just read about the purple heart, and now this, I'm beginning to think that anyone who would vote for him would also have voted for Saddam Houssain, Genghis Khan or Attila the Hun if they could have.
The same folks who think Lt. Pinkerton is the hero in Madam Butterfly.
