Gaetz Gone
Trump, who had privately conceded that Gaetz might not be confirmed but had made calls on his behalf, praised Gaetz in a Truth Social post. Trump said that Gaetz withdrew to avoid becoming a distraction for the administration and that he “has a wonderful future.”

Yesterday the unexpected happened.
Matt Gaetz withdrew from consideration to lead the Justice Department. Apparently, after meeting with Republican senators, Gaetz believed he lacked enough support to be confirmed. In a way that is good news for Donald Trump who happens to be in a hurry. It is good news for the US Senate because they won't have to get bogged down in a process that would only end up with them bucking the new President and his mandate. It is also good news for Gaetz, because as some may not know, he resigned his position in the current House session only. He was recently reelected to the House and could now serve in the next House session.

It is bad news for the leftwing media which worked so diligently to leak and smear Gaetz only to have served in getting Trump to choose a much more qualified candidate, with no baggage and most likely will be a tough as nails AG for the US and Donald Trump. The new nominee is the former attorney general of Florida, Pam Bondi.

110414-pam-bondi.jpg?resize=1200%2C675
Pam Bondi

She is loyal to Donald Trump and the rule of law. She is currently co-chair of the law and justice division at the America First Policy Institute. Bondi served as Florida’s attorney general from 2011-2019, the first woman to hold the office. While Florida's AG she initiated the state’s litigation against opioid manufacturers as well as trying to ban dog racing in Florida. I expect her nomination to glide through the US Senate. I am hoping that she will take a good hard look at the malfeasance of the previous DOJ and clean house.

In other news:

22themorning-nl-vwhz-jumbo.jpg

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and its former defense minister, Yoav Gallant, as part of its investigation into war crimes in Gaza. The court also issued a warrant for the arrest of Mohamed Deif, whom Israeli forces have already killed. Sen Lindsey Graham said: “The International Corrupt Criminal Court has acted in the most absurd and irresponsible manner possible by issuing arrest warrants against the Prime Minister and former Defense Minister of Israel while there is a serious cloud of allegations hanging over the prosecutor who sought these warrants.”

Vladimir Putin said Russia struck Ukraine with a new type of missile, one capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.

Police officers in Trenton, N.J., systematically violated citizens' rights and needlessly escalate peaceful interactions into violence, a Justice Department report found. We shall see what Pam Bondi's DOJ thinks about that.

Chuck Schumer is desperately trying to confirm every radical judge that Joe Biden nominated before the current Senate session ends. Right now, they are 15 judge confirmations away from breaking Trump's record of appointing responsible justices.

In a recount, Senator Bob Casey, a three-term Pennsylvania Democrat, finally accepted the election results and conceded to Dave McCormack.

In California votes are still being counted. There they have a law which allows people who never signed their mail in ballots to sign them and resubmit them right up until early December. The daughter of Nancy Pelosi & friends are out with two lists trying to cure votes. One list is of the states registered democrats and the other is of those who hadn't signed ballots. Is it any wonder that it is almost impossible to beat democrats out there.

The House passed legislation that would let the government revoke the tax-exempt status of nonprofit groups it accuses of supporting terrorism.

Zedan Racing Stables’ $3.2 million unraced 2-year-old colt, Barnes, is set to make his debut next Wednesday at Churchill Downs in a 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight contest for trainer Bob Baffert. This would mark Baffert’s first start beneath the Twin Spires since the end of his three-year suspension by Churchill Downs Incorporated in 2021.

Named in honor of Baffert’s longtime assistant Jimmy Barnes, the highly regarded  Into Mischief  colt is slated to break from post No. 3 under jockey Martin Garcia. Carded as Race 7 at 3:55 p.m., the race drew a field of 11 juveniles.

The message for Trump and Senate Republicans was clear.

As the Outfit's court jester used to say:

Found that the "judge" that brought the "war crime" charges has had some sexual related complaints filed against him.

Khan himself turned out to be at the center of a sex-pest complaint  by a former colleague at the ICC. The woman in question had lodged internal complaints about his lewd behavior.

As multiple papers around the world have reported, Khan apparently made completely inappropriate sexual demands of a female colleague on multiple occasions. When she complained he threatened to ruin her career. I don’t know where the “MeToo” crowd were over that. But they seem to have been remarkably quiet.

The Pinocchio Test

The evidence shows there were no quiet protesters against removing the statue that weekend. That’s just a figment of the president’s imagination. The militia groups were not spurred on by the Confederate statue controversy. They arrived in Charlottesville heavily armed and, by their own account, were prepared to use deadly force — because of a desire to insert themselves in a dangerous situation that, in effect, pitted them against the foes of white supremacists.

Supposedly Ellen DeGeneres was one of the very few to make good on her promise to leave the US if Trump won the election.

latest?cb=20180125231207

The truth is much different:

Ellen DeGeneres  left the US for the UK with her wife Portia de Rossi to begin her “retirement” right after her career collapsed because of allegations of creating a toxic workplace on her talk show. The couple reportedly settled in England after listing their Montecito mansion on the market in response to the results of the US elections 2024.

However, insiders now reveal that the two had already planned to leave the States behind long before Trump was declared victorious in the elections.

Real reason behind Ellen DeGeneres and wife's move to the UK unveiled

I guess it is a win-win for both countries. The US is rid of one lefty Trump-hater and England has Peter Pan back.

Pathologist disputes finding that Marine veteran's chokehold caused subway rider's death

For roughly six minutes,  Jordan Neely  was pinned to a subway floor in a chokehold that ended with him lying still. But that's not what killed him, a forensic pathologist testified Thursday in defense of the military-trained commuter  charged with killing Neely .

“In your opinion, did Mr. Penny choke Mr. Neely to death?" defense lawyer Steven Raiser asked.

“No,” replied Chundru, who has worked as a medical examiner for county governments in Florida and Texas.

He said Neely died from "the combined effects” of synthetic marijuana, schizophrenia, his struggle and restraint, and a blood condition that can lead to fatal complications during exertion.

“The chokehold did not cause death,” the pathologist said.

That, or he will be the one criminal they actually prosecute because he robbed a member of  HIS team, and not some lowly civilian.

I think you're correct.  He was arrested and let loose several times before breaking in to a Bragg team member house.

We always knew it would take the crime to hit them personally before something gets done.

Jordan Neely

And the medical examiner who declared that he died of a chokehold didn't even wait for the toxicology report:

The New York medical examiner who performed Jordan Neely’s autopsy testified that she determined Neely died from asphyxiation after viewing viral videos of him in a chokehold and without waiting to see a toxicology report.

J ose Ibarra, the illegal immigrant and Tren de Aragua gang member accused of viciously murdering 22-year-old coed Laken Reilly, was found guilty of all charges in an Athens, Georgia courtroom Monday.

Judge Patrick Haggard handed down the guilty verdicts on a range of charges, returning to the bench just 19 minutes after the prosecution and defense presented their closing arguments.

He still maintains his lie, but the ruling by the state of Illinois actually mentions that he was guilty of staging a false hate crime. They are overturning it because Kim Fox made a deal with the defense team to get him off the hook. You may remember Michelle Obama getting involved.

Btw did anyone catch Special Report last night?

Bret Baier had Peggy Noonan on as a special guest. I thought she explained the past election beautifully, as only the woman of words could do:

BAIER: I read your column every week, and you, like our late colleague Charles Krauthammer have this ability to cut through the noise of the moment and get to the heart of the issue. This book is filled with all kinds of essays and columns, but it is -- I wanted to talk to about the moment that we're in now and where America is right now after this election. How do you see it?

NOONAN: I've been thinking a lot about this. We all sense we are in a big historical moment. I'm so sorry. We all sense we are in the middle of something very big, a kind of hinge moment, I think. I have been thinking a lot -- about it a lot, as you have. And I have a feeling that people are thinking that they don't really like all that they have seen of the 21st century, and they had a sense that Mr. Trump didn't like it either. That's why they elected him twice. And more than half the country, I think, is just in a major pushback against the establishment.
