Origin of the rumor -

The speculation began after The Hill published a report on Thursday discussing potential Democratic candidates who could "lead their party in a 2028 presidential contest." AOC's name was featured on the list of contenders. Citing a Democratic strategist, the outlet noted that the party has long admired Ocasio-Cortez's ability to "cut through the BS and tell it like it is.""She's somebody who can cut through the noise and doesn't talk like Washington," the strategist added. Another strategist, however, suggested that her support for centrist candidates might diminish her chances."She and the 'squad' started pushing too hard, too fast," the strategist told The Hill. "D.C. doesn't work that way. And our party doesn't work that way. We need to get back to the basics."

This would be more epic than the 2016 match up.  Two culture warriors, JD Vance VS  AOC!

Please make this happen!

I thought that was truly ironic, vote for Kamala who was appointed or it's the end of "Democracy".

The Ds need to get a charismatic, moderate, grounded, presidential individual who can appeal to the bulk of the modern electorate.   The individual should be 45-65 years of age, have sound executive experience, and be likeable with no major ghosts in their closet.    My first inclination is to look at past and present popular governors.

AOC is entirely wrong here.

She did recently remove her pronouns from her Twitter profile the day after the election. I suspect this was a move to the center for her.

Is that even possible?  I doubt many realize that the democrat party is actually a revolutionary party, best exemplified by AOC. It has drifted this way for a long time. In the early 70's it began with the McGovern presidential campaign, then came Carter at the end of the decade. Obama had little opposition and Biden pretended to be a moderate but turned out to be the most radical of all. They recently drove two moderate Senators right out of running again and now refuse to even a bit of self-reflection.

I think AOC is inevitable.

Progressive ≠ revolutionary.

The Democrat Party may as well further its suicidal tendency and nominate Bernie Sanders or Rashida Tlaib (Oh, wait, Rashida may have been born in the country of her greatest loyalty).

You are absolutely right.

She may run anyway.

In the meantime, she makes a good pantomime villain.  She's a sort of Democrat version of Sarah Palin.  She can be the cartoonish figure keeping the focus of the RW media while they figure out some more suitable candidates.

It’s the next logical step in the party’s evolution

We are in the midst of the post woke culture war. Generation Y is embracing traditional values, it's the new Punk Rock. Democrats clearly lost this election in part over the cultural issues. Most indications from recent interviews with Liberal cultural leaders indicate they believe they didn't move far enough to the left. They are begging for another tough lesson in 2028.

I saw on the news today there is a movement to bring back the “Redskins” name to Washington football.

Hilarious!

lol ….where is the satire tag?

For their own sake, I hope Dems realize what running radical accomplishes.
