Trump threatened Hamas and Hamas buckled
I don't want to hurt your negotiations, [but] if [the hostages] are not back by the time I get into office, all hell will break out in the Middle East. And it will not be good for Hamas, and it will not be good, frankly, for anyone. All hell will break out. I don't have to say anymore, but that's what it is.

Link to quote: Trump Said 'All Hell Will Break Out' If Israeli Hostages Aren't Returned By Inauguration

A lot went into the mix. Despite Joe Biden telling Israel to be careful, go slow and stay out of Rafah, Israel managed to bring all of its enemies to their knees. Biden did pursue a cease fire deal since May. Most importantly the man who killed Soleimani and defanged ISIS warned of all hell breaking loose if the hostages were not released by inauguration Day.

I guess there is credit to a various degree for a few. The other thing that helped move the needle was that the Israeli Prime Minister was under pressure at home to get the hostages released. He also knew that the incoming President would have his back. For Hamas it was clear that within a few days there would not be any separation between the Isreal and the US, therefore the timing was right.

Last night Joe Biden in a very bitter farewell speech tried to take credit for the agreement, which btw is still tenuous at best. For most people the pending release of the hostages will remind them of the release of hostages after Jimmy Carter left office. There are many similarities. It was Carter whose incompetence turned Iran from a strategic ally to an Islamist militant state.

In the news:

16themorning-nl-BONDI-qjkc-jumbo-v4.jpg

Trumps nominees seem to be moving along rather nicely. Marco Rubio even got a mark-up, which means he may even be appointed the same day Trump is sworn in. Yesterday Pam Bondi turned the tables on democrats, especially Adam Schiff, who came out looking like nasty partisans.

According to forecasts, strong winds in California may be calming down. This would give the firefighters a chance to contain more of the fires.

Bezos launched a rocket.  The flight is seen as a crucial test of the company’s ability to compete with Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

Consumer prices rose again last month, a sign that the Fed’s fight against inflation might have stalled and an indication of more work for the incoming President.

Elon Musk intervened to help free an Italian journalist from Iran.

The N.Y.P.D. is now barring officers from chasing drivers who break traffic laws or commit low-level offenses. I expect that more bullies will take over the roads in NY.

And we all know Biden didn't do a damn thing for the agreement.  But that didn't stop Biden from claiming credit among all the lies he told last night.

If I recall, yesterday Bondi told Congress that she is unaware that Kash Patel wrote down on paper an enemies list.

She also claimed to be unaware of Trumps phone call to the secretary of state of Georgia where he tried to corrupt that states election results.

She also claimed to not know who won the 2020 election.

When she gets in office she should investigate herself for lying to Congress.

Why? Because he's smarter than all the conservative Republicans which pisses them off? Because he was right? Because he's telling the truth about Trump and the sniveling right wing pieces of shit that attacked our capital on January 6th? No amount of fascist rewriting of Jan 6th will change what every patriotic American knows happened that day which was an attempted insurrection inspired by a disgusting pig fucking piece of shit named Donald Trump. All the attempts to attack and malign those who are exposing the truth behind the attack on our capital on January 6th just exposes the worthless bigoted traitors among us.

It is according to Democrats/leftists.

Brandon and his family are guilty as in. So are the members of the Jan 6th committee of witness tampering; with holding evidence; and evidence tampering. The fact that Jack Smith used any of their "investigation" material is a joke. Same with Merrick Garland; and you can through in the Biden family bitch not so special counsel Weiss. Whose Hunter Biden report was something that a hung over college student throws together 1 hour before it is due after having an all night binger. Special counsels produce reports 100's of pages long detailing their investigative efforts- Weiss' was only 27 pages.

Democrats are scared shitless to face that Trump will purge the current DOJ; and they will have to face equal justice under the law for a change.

Simply an appreciation of people who take care of themselves and a society that once was well-groomed.

And since she does not look that way now are you suggesting she is "taking care" of herself less. That is none of our business!

Well-groomed? It's a 'photoshoot' pic (Where the best picture is chosen from a 'lot' of images.) The image of Gilabrand is her on her day job—not being performative .

Yet look at what I was compelled to do to address this! I am deeply offended. Bondi is seeking a position of power over us. . . I could care less about her appearance ("Medusa"?) while yielding such power. It is what she will do with that power ("Medusa"?) that is of importance and at issue.

Yes, I was going through TSA security screening. I resented the demand too. I only had my bald spot under my cap. . . the agent did not even touch/feel around  the cap at all to look for any paraphernalia. . .and I couldn't help but think . . . I digress.

Here is the latest:

"Israeli Prime Minister  Benjamin Netanyahu  on Thursday accused Hamas of backing out of a cease-fire deal to release hostages and bring a pause to more than a year of fighting in the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu's office said Thursday his Cabinet won't meet to vote on the  Gaza cease-fire deal  until Hamas backs down from what it called a "last minute crisis."

Netanyahu's office accused Hamas, without elaborating, of trying to go back on part of the agreement in an attempt "to extort last minute concessions."

There is nothing Trump can do to Hamas that Israel has not already done.

I thought the threat was to the middle east: most likely IRAN. That would get their attention, wouldn't it.  Iran already knows that they are going to be under strong sanctions again. Who responded with "I don't recall" or "I don't remember" how many times when questioned? It is Hillary's favorite response to any question she doesn't feel like answering.

That is when she isn't being flippant about the deaths of those that served in her department.

Clinton: "With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d they go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, senator. Now, honestly, I will do my best to answer your questions about this, but the fact is that people were trying in real time to get to the best information. The IC has a process, I understand, going with the other committees to explain how these talking points came out. But you know, to be clear, it is, from my perspective, less important today looking backwards as to why these militants decided they did it than to find them and bring them to justice, and then maybe we’ll figure out what was going on in the meantime."

Tell us, were those "militants" Obama and Hillary worked so damn hard to play off as protestors ever brought to justice? Did they ever get to the bottom of why both the Obama administration and intelligence community fucked up so badly and allowed this to happen?

Imagine any Republican saying what Hillary did. The media would have skewered them until they were forced from office.

We wouldn’t be having this conversation if the Biden administration did not supply Israel with bombs, drones, missles, small arms ammo, and everything else imaginable for war fighting. In addition carrier task force off their coast, fighter wings sent to ME and special forces embedded in the ME. Without our total support Israel would be in a very different place today.

Of course Israel total destruction of Gaza, much of the West Bank and Lebanon also had a great deal to do with the ‘’yet to be voted’’ cease fire.

You left out Brandon's literally dropping aid on Gazan's heads (when parachutes failed on multiple occasions); that is when he was drowning them when the aided drifted out to sea. His worthless temporary port that didn't survive survive the first storm; or the aid that was brought in by it rotting in warehouses because there is absolutely no distribution system in Gaza.

Or his complete and total lack of support for West Bank Palestinians who had jack shit of nothing to do with Jan 6th; but who are still being massively punished by having their land stolen; being killed daily; and being arrested and held w/o charges for no reason during IDF raids.

At least there will be no doubt where Trump stands. No faux overtures to the Palestinians trying to win votes. No platitudes extolling Israel over how many civilians are getting killed. No restraints what-so-ever.

We can also look forward to no more Brandon "Don't" responses that are ignored by the whole damn world.

Funny how when Trump was elected the first thing Qatar did was kick out the heads of Hamas. It wasn't a coincidence.

Guess Qatar doesn't want to be involved with Trump's "...it will be bad for everyone." promise.

With Trump in charge Israel will have no more damn excuses. They will need to quickly get the job done; and then get out of Gaza (which they have no damn plans of doing). The only thing the Palestinians can look forward to (along with Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon) is the day when Israel forces all of them out. Trump won't stop them from doing that either.

Last night Joe Biden in a very bitter farewell speech tried to take credit for the agreement, which btw is still tenuous at best. For most people the pending release of the hostages will remind them of the release of hostages after Jimmy Carter left office.

I don't know why as Biden supplied all that Israel asked for in its hour of need, even as 'need' kept wideningBut, not matter.

In addition, If it was all Trump's rhetoric that won the 'coming' ceasefire and nothing of Biden's actions on the ground at all - as MAGA is desperately trying to frame the NARRATIVE. . . then it begs the question that the quote above circles back on itself to suggest this is "STILL TENUOUS AT BEST" Which is it?

You will not be allowed to have it both ways, MAGA.

So he never threatened to withhold aid from Israel?

The Biden administration may restrict military assistance to Israel if the humanitarian situation in Gaza doesn’t improve within the next 30 days, according to a letter sent last weekend to Israeli Defense Minister Yaov Gallant and Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer. A U.S. State Department spokesperson confirmed the existence of the letter yesterday.

In the letter, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the U.S. must continually assess under its own law whether Israel is “directly or indirectly” impeding the transport of U.S. humanitarian assistance to Gaza. If it is, they warned that the U.S. could halt additional military financing, two U.S. officials and a defense official said.

The Biden administration sent a similar warning to Israeli officials in April but ultimately determined the actions taken by Israel to improve the humanitarian situation afterward met the requirements under the law. Since then, the situation in the Gaza Strip has further deteriorated.

It is a blueprint for an entirely different approach by Israel to the aid operation in Gaza - expediting it, rather than imposing restrictions. The letter is a line-by-line examination of Israel’s obstruction of aid deliveries – and the way its forcible relocation of civilians has exposed 1.7 million Palestinians to serious risk of disease.

It even challenges Israel’s long-standing attack on UNRWA, the UN agency that looks after Palestinian refugees.

The US is “very concerned” about proposed new laws that would “remove certain privileges and immunities”. An Israeli government minister wants to confiscate UNRWA’s headquarters in occupied East Jerusalem to use the land for a Jewish settlement.

The US says it acknowledges Israeli concerns about UNRWA, but that restrictions on it would “devastate” the humanitarian effort in Gaza and the education and welfare of tens of thousands of Palestinians in East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.

President Joe Biden said for the first time Wednesday he would   halt some shipments of American weapons to Israel   – which he acknowledged have been used to kill civilians in Gaza – if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu orders a major invasion of the city of Rafah.

“Civilians have been killed in Gaza as a consequence of those bombs and other ways in which they go after population centers,” Biden told CNN’s Erin Burnett in an exclusive interview on “Erin Burnett OutFront,” referring to 2,000-pound bombs that Biden paused shipments of last week.

“I made it clear that if they go into Rafah – they haven’t gone in Rafah yet – if they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities – that deal with that problem,” Biden said.

The president’s announcement that he was prepared to condition American weaponry on Israel’s actions amounts to a turning point in the seven-month conflict between Israel and Hamas. And his acknowledgement that American bombs   had been used to kill civilians   in Gaza was a stark recognition of the United States’ role in the war.

The president has come under extraordinary pressure, including from members of his own party, to limit shipments of arms amid a humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

You can't have it both way's Democrats/leftists. Biden can't be giving Israel "everything it needed" while threatening to restrict US aid multiple times.

At least with Trump I won't have to listen to this BS from a weak kneed POS president that didn't do jack shit to save a single Palestinian life; but just prolonged the war and allowed it to expand- which is exactly what Israel wanted.

Seems to me there is some U.S.-styled 'Good cop - Bad cop' action going on with this 'coming' ceasefire.

Iran, Hamas, and Islamic terrorists/militants don't understand "Good cop"- they listen to and fear "Bad cop" especially when the bad cop will go after Iranian and Hamas leadership.

Rhetorically-speaking: the inverse can be true as well. As all of that is above the 'grade' of online discussion. Moving on. . . .
