Creators. Influencers. Streamers. Vloggers. Whatever you call them, these powerful social media personalities are calling the shots in entertainment and advertising.
This year, the 50 honorees on our second annual Forbes Top Creator list harnessed their combined 2.6 billion followers to haul in an estimated $700 million in earnings. That's up more than 20% from 2022's $570 million score.
They’re not alone, in 2023 brands will spend an estimated $21 billion on creator marketing, up from just $1.6 billion seven years ago, according to the social media research firm, Influencer Marketing Hub.
"Influencers are more trusted by their audiences than ads. They can sell out products in minutes. They can cause a flash mob that shuts down a major city," says Erin Lanuti, the chief innovation officer at ad titan Omnicom PR Group.
To rank the world's Top Creators, Forbes crunched data on the estimated earnings, follower counts, engagement rates, and entrepreneurial activities of thousands of internet personalities with the help of the creator marketing firm, Influential .
The result: The 50 people tapping their massive fan bases to reshape the worlds of media, marketing, entertainment, and taste.

And America, "The Land of Opportunity" is trying to pull the rug out from under these entrepreneurs.
No, a "company" is refusing to divest itself of its business and make billons of dollars and will pull the rug out from under these entrepreneurs because its purpose is intellgence gathering and pushing propaganda, not operating as a business.
That is about the most ridiculous cooked-up comment I've ever seen on NT.
Apologies for the poor formatting-- for sdome reason I found the way these two sites are set up to be very difficult to seed.
But if anyone is interested in this topic, these two sites have a lot of useful information.
Do you mean the "View Profile" links?
I wonder what is supposed to happen if ByteDance does nothing if the SCotUS rules against it. Will TikTok be blocked (as a lot of web sites are blocked here so I can't open them)? Doesn't that mean that Trump could cause it to be reopened?
Another question. Since so many Americans see nothing wrong with what happened on Jan 6, I wonder if there could be a similar invasion of the SCotUS building.
AMERICAN PARANOIA
Who are the biggest tik tok stars in China?
Oh, right, the chinese government bans tik-tok in China.
LINK -> www.washingtonpost.com/world/2025/01/17/countries-banned-tiktok/
But after all, Free Speech SHOULD have made the difference, shouldn't it? VPNs are available in China. Anyway, the flood has already started with American TikTok users are running to ANOTHER Chinese site, that IS available in China, as I pointed out in my article:
LINK -> Looming Tiktok Ban Takes Us Citizens Closer To China - Buzz Of The Orient | The NewsTalkers
So who wins?
Tik tok is also banned in iran, which makes sense as china and iran are best buds.
Chinese Paranoia of the chinese to blame? This is a Chinese company whose product the CCP doesn't allow its citizens to use. Doesn't that strike you as incredibly bizarre?
So many sites and apps are banned in China. Are they excessively paranoid? I've never seen you post memes of "Chinese Paranoia" when people post links to one of those sites here on NT. How come?
I can understand why China has blocked American sites and TikTok. It's because it doesn't want its citizens to become Americanized, and I can understand why. If you lived here you would know why yourself. Here when families get together for celebrations, they don't need rules as to what they can say and not say in order to prevent a family fight; there is absolutely no concern about gun violence; being educated is of primary importance and narcotics are STRONGLY controlled - death sentences for dealing and everyone knows it; with 4.5 times the population of America, it takes a strong hand to maintain peace, order and good government. For that I'll use an example. I taught a class of 12 students - so easy to maintain the necessary control. I don't think I would have found it easy to maintain the necessary control of a class of 60 students. Get the idea? I know China isn't perfect, it isn't utopia, but it's a lot better life for me than I could be living today in the USA or even my home country of Canada, so I don't mind the strong hand at all - I have been treated with respect not only by the people, but by the police and government officials and I'm happy. here. You only know what you've read or heard, I know because it's where I have been for more than 18 years.
Anyway, I thought The First Amendment was sacrosanct in the USA. You now have about 120 million Americans who know it's bullshit.
So China is paranoid that exposure to American culture and freedom will appeal to Chinese and make them unhappy with living in a police state? That probably is a legitimate fear for a totalitarian regime. North Korea bans american media too.
It is. No speech is being censored. Whatever is said or posted on tiktok can be said or posted on any number of other forums. Even here. The only thing banned is spyware by a hostile government is banned. Hostile countries don't have the right to spy on Americans. There is not a First Amendment issue, whatsoever.
If bytedance were a legitimate company, it could sell tik tok for billions and the the app would remain available to all Americans (but not, of course, Chinese). But because it's not legitimate country Bytedance has chosen not to divest itself and will forsake billions of dollars rather than expose the extent of spying.
Your comments would have made Mark Twain and Ernest Hemingway jealous, let alone the great sci-fi authors. I'll let a British-Australian freelance writer educate you about China:.
People tell me I live in a police state, but I don’t, I live in China

I have never even heard of any of these people with the exception of numbers 9 and 10.
I dont feel like I'm missing anything either.
Guess that means that you are not really a member of "Gen Z'. eh?
yep
Some are-- some aren't. Check this out:
Who are the highest paid influencers on TikTok?
Do you think that these three are "sheep"? Making over $100,000 by posting a video doesn't sound like they are "sheep". (Rather, IMNSHO, each of them could be described not as a sheep-- but perhaps more accurate lt "Leader of The Pack"!
So John-- I'm sure some people, for example lurkers here (who may not yet be familiar with NT) . . . based on your earning per video you seed here . . . would classify you as a "Sheep"...or as a "Leader of the Pack"?
a "Leader of the Pack"?
THE SHANGRELAS - LEADER OF THE PACK
No, this isn't one of Shakespeare's plays!
(Buzz-- I know you can't access YouTube videos. So if you want to see this one, search for "Shangra-las Leader of the Pack")
OMG!!!
I know that video is not supposed to be humorous-- but it did give a few good laughs!
Heh
No wonder people here look down on him-- guys a total failure! A total fool!
(No one here would waste their time the way he does!!!)
