Kash on the line.
“I have no interest, no desire, and will not, If confirmed, go backwards,” Patel said. “There will be no politicization at the FBI. There will be no retributive actions taken by any FBI.”

Yesterday Senate democrats used childlike tactics to try and get Kash Patel to promise not to investigate anyone that President Trump occasionally advocated to be investigated. Patel always had the correct answer: " I think if anyone commits a wrong in government service, the American public deserve to know every absolute detail of that corrupt activity.” In other words, Patel wouldn't seek to investigate anyone as a form of retribution, but if officials broke laws, they need to be held accountable. The democrats did manage to get this principled opinion out of him: “As for January 6, I have repeatedly, often, publicly and privately, said there can never be a tolerance for violence against law enforcement.” The good news is that thus far, no Republicans have publicly stated their opposition to Patel’s nomination, and none raised concerns at the hearing.

Tulsi Gabbard nominated for director of national intelligence

The hearing for Tulsi Gabbard was even more infantile as democrats demanded that she declare Edward Snowden a traitor. Sadly, some Republicans joined in on that. The Republicans in the Senate can only afford to lose three votes on all things in the face of the usual democrat unity. Unfortunately, there are 3 Senators who are always at risk: 1) Maine Senator Susan Collins who frequently sacrifices what is good over principle, 2) Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, who is loosely described as a Republican and won her seat via the flawed rank voting system and finally 3) Mitch McConnell who has become the second coming of the bitter John McCain who put hated of Trump over love of country.

At a second Senate hearing for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s pick for health secretary, Kennedy defended his views on vaccination. He delivered what was without a doubt the best line of the day:

The Senate did manage to confirm Doug Burgum as Interior Secretary.

An appeals court ruled that a longstanding ban on handgun sales to people aged 18 to 20 was unconstitutional.

Paramount is now in talks with Trump to settle a lawsuit he brought accusing the company of deceptively editing a “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris. It will be yet another victory for Trump.

Good morning.

It seems that the continent of Africa is going through a World War of its own.

31themorning-nl-Congo-02-qckh-jumbo-v3.jpg

What's it about?

A hint: Colonizing the mineral rich Congo.

The participants: Not the mean old Europeans, nope, it's the more primitive locals.

How can that be?

You must of missed a huge part of history. For instance King Leopold ll of Belgium killed off hundreds of thousands of black Africans most in the Congo. So yes, the Europeans were mean, actually they morally bankrupt scum.

I see in your comment that you refer to the blacks today in the Congo as primitive locals. [deleted][]

The difference between the bloodbath taking place in the Congo right now and the Colonist of the past is the supplemental. For example, India has a railroad system and a level of decent discourse which they inherited. The Indonesians have resources which they would have had trouble developing. And in some places people were taught not to shit where they eat.

The current bloodbath in the Congo nothing compared to Leopold ll who killed as many a 10 million black Africans in a 30 year period and that is just the Belgians, add in the Germans, Brits, French etc and you just might understand why I said ‘’Europeans were morally bankrupt scum’’…But it seems to you that killing people by the million and raping the land for all it is worth is fine as long as they are non white…

As far people were taught not to shit where they eat is quite funny, the Europeans the greatest spreader of disease in the world because of their filthy living conditions and of course shitting in the street was commonplace.

Neither India or Indonesia is in Africa, try again.

This just kinds of skims the surface.

Patel spent the four years between Trump’s terms participating in the pro-Trump movement’s grift machine, cashing in on appearances and merchandise to exploit the demand for all things Trump.

He produced a podcast for The Epoch Times, a news site known for promoting conspiracy theories. He traveled the country for revival-style  meetings  of believers in QAnon, a fringe movement that sees Trump as a messianic figure destined to rid the government of those who secretly murder children to drink their blood.

He  marketed  clothing and accessories with his “K$H” logo, peddling them at conservative gatherings. He published a series of children’s books featuring “King Donald” and casting himself as a wizard who foils plots against him by villains including “Hillary Queenton” and “Comma-la-la-la.”

He even helped market pills that claim — with zero evidence of efficacy — to undo the effects of COVID-19 vaccines. “Spike the Vax, order this homerun kit to rid your body of the harms of the vax,”  Patel wrote  in a social media post, linking to a “Warrior Essentials” website. And who ordered the training mission?  Was he white too? What does that even mean? The tower was very short on-air traffic controllers. That air traffic controller was handling both planes and helicopters. Why have we had such a shortage?

Maybe it's this mentality:

The disturbing rise in near misses at our nation’s airports is no accident. A class-action lawsuit by the Mountain States Legal Foundation has amassed a trove of documents shedding new light on an Obama-era Federal Aviation Administration initiative that rejected prospective air traffic controllers based solely on their race.

A 2013 FAA document, “Controller Hiring by the Numbers,” raised the issue in stark terms, asking, “How much of a change in job performance is acceptable to achieve what diversity goals?”

When failure is measured in human blood, the answer should have been none.

At the beginning of the year, five people died at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport after a jumbo jet carrying 379 travelers crashed into a smaller coast guard plane that had mistakenly entered the runway. It’s the job of air traffic controllers to keep this from happening.

There hasn’t been a fatal airline crash in the United States since 2009, but it’s only a matter of time before the streak ends. The FAA recorded two serious, near-miss “runway incursions” at Reagan National and Baltimore-Washington International last year.

Vigilance is waning because the nation’s air traffic control towers are woefully understaffed. The people responsible for keeping planes from smashing into one another are tired after working long, mandatory overtime shifts to make up for the lack of controllers.

Contributing to the shortage, the FAA temporarily put the brakes on hiring in 2012 so it could replace race-blind hiring rules with a “Biographical Assessment” stratagem designed to hire more minorities.

This quiz served as further screening of applicants who had already graduated from a 200-hour training program and achieved high scores on AT-SAT, a grueling, eight-hour cognitive test that measures each of the specific skills needed to do the job properly.

The questionnaire sought irrelevant information such as the “college subject in which I received my lowest grade.” Those answering “history/political science” received 15 points. Playing four or more sports in high school was worth 5 points.

By contrast, holding a pilot’s license — a major advantage for a controller — was worth only 2 points. And having valuable experience as an air traffic controller in the military was worth no points at all.

Flashback: FAA Turned Away Qualified Air Traffic Controllers Based Solely on Race

All part of the pedigree with the problem.

Where will the room be for this to be the fault of DEI?

In all of these accidents there are fundamental causes and then proximate causes. I'm sure that DEI would be part of the latter.

Then you don't understand what DEI is.

You can either have merit or equity. The whole purpose of equity is to select someone who isn't the most qualified, but might be "qualified enough" and has the biological characteristics necessary to achieve some targeted goal.    To choose using factors other than merit is literally the entire the point of DEI. Let's say there is a white female applying for a job with almost impeccable qualifications. There is a white male applying for the same position that is not as qualified as the withe female, but because the company wants to have equity and inclusion, they hire the withe male. Here's a reporter, a Pete Buttigieg voter, detailing in 2024 how the FAA knew switching to a new program to help DEI applicants would reduce air traffic controller  performance but decided to do it anyway, because "diversity" was the priority and admitting that : "the organizational goals of maximizing performance and minimizing adverse impact (AI) appear to be in direct conflict."

This should be obvious to anyone who understands what DEI mandates but some people refuse to live in reality where tradeoffs exists.

Those who have any doubts feel free to deal with data from the FAA.

Next time post a link to what you’re referring to, X is not worth trying to read. There are many links to this.

I’ve read the whole thing and since the preference given to minorities, in this case it seemed that blacks were the minority of choice. Using those standards the FAA controllers have an excellent record in air safety. Still the overwhelming race of ATC is white. So are you saying that the DEI standards have made the ATC not qualified? Did you think that with the shortage of ATC between three and four thousand across the US just might have something to do with the outreach by the FAA.

This is really send you into orbit, my great nephew is a ACT and he is an Indian. His schooling was in the Air Force program and it was very extensive and the first few years after graduating they are still in a training mode at an airport. He will request a transfer or be transferred since he has completed two yeas OTJ training at a smaller air port.

I’m sure that to you he would be a DEI.

BTW, the San Carlos airport in Cali has NO controllers currently. Since the FAA transferred the contract to another company that isn’t paying the adjustment due for working in a high price living area. San Carlos handles part of the traffic for SFO.

In another comment congrress passed a bill in 2024 that gave RR airport 10 more slots. This senators congress men from MD and VA plus the FAA voted against it saying RR was overcrowded and opening up new spots would end in tragety, congress still voted for it and RR will get the new spots in the next couple of weeks, do you think that they will get additional ATCs?

Seems that safety was not a concern of their’s, perhaps that will change now.

Do you think that the Captain of the AA flight was a DEI hire, after all his name is Campos, could be Hispanic.

It's not like that is anything new.  They've done it on EVERY confirmation hearing.

Their fear of being investigated is very telling.  If they were doing what they were supposed to and it was legal they would have no reason to be scared and lashing out like petulant children.

That is part of it. Those helicopters are supposed be fly low. Another question we may never know is if the pilot of the helicopter heard the air traffic controller or was eyeing the wrong plane. There is a lot of things involved here John.

Why do you little yourself by praising Trump for attributes that dont exist ?

I'll let the history books tend to that.

In 2024 congress passed a bill to allow/open 10 more slots at Reagan Airport. All the congresspeople from VA and MD voted against it and told everyone how dangerous it would be and there was going to be a tragedy there. Congress voted for it and the 10 new slots are supposed to become available in the next few weeks.

The FAA also recommended against opening the slots.

Just a few weeks ago the head of the FAA was forced out by civilian non elected Musk. Good move Musk, was it because he fined your company for not following procedure?

Of course it matters a great deal. The Blackhawk should not have been any more than 200 feet AGL The last radar returns showed to be over 300 feet. They also showed the radar giving traffic alert signals the controller should have acted upon.

Grassley, Johnson Make Public Whistleblower Records Revealing DOJ and FBI Plot to Pin Trump in Jack Smith Elector Case

The FBI’s investigation into Trump, dubbed “Arctic Frost,” was spearheaded by a known anti-Trump agent.

WASHINGTON –   Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) are releasing legally protected whistleblower disclosures that prove the genesis of the federal election interference case brought against President Trump began at the hands of a prolific anti-Trump FBI agent who acted outside of established protocol for opening cases.

Internal FBI emails and predicating documents provided to Grassley and released jointly by the two senators show Timothy Thibault, a former FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) who was   forced to retire   from the Bureau after Grassley   exposed   his public anti-Trump bias, authored the initial language for what ultimately became Jack Smith’s federal case against Trump regarding the 2020 presidential election. Records show Thibault essentially opened and approved his own investigation. The FBI titled the ensuing investigation “Arctic Frost.”

Records further reveal Richard Pilger, an official in the Justice Department (DOJ)’s Public Integrity Section, reviewed and approved the FBI’s Arctic Frost investigation, authorizing DOJ to move forward with a full field criminal and Grand Jury investigation that ultimately transformed into the Trump elector case. Grassley published a   2021 report   that raised concerns regarding Pilger’s troubling record at DOJ.

Grassley in 2022 additionally questioned Thibault’s role at the FBI,   writing , “I remain very concerned that political bias by a select group of Justice Department and FBI officials has infected the Justice Department’s and FBI’s usual process and procedure to open and pursue high-profile and politically charged investigations.” Grassley and Johnson in November called on Jack Smith to   preserve all records   related to Trump-targeted investigations.

And then there is Adam Schitt.  Always reliable when it comes to needing somebody to make a complete ass out of themselves in public.

Newly minted Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, a former congressman who was a main driver the Russia hoax and impeachments of Trump, is now on the Committee.

During his questioning of Patel, Schiff bizarrely focused on podcast participation and the definition of "we," rather than serious threats facing the country like terrorism, cyber crime and much more.
