I think you have it backwards. The leaders of both Mexico and Canada have very publicly been trying to have normal conversations with Trump for weeks, and he has been nothing but a very public dick about it. I doubt very much that Canada or Mexico are doing anything they weren't already willing to do if he had just asked nicely.

and detained 100,000 border violators... about 0.2% of all the fentanyl and illegal entry.
