The National Prayer Breakfast

The National Prayer Breakfast at the Capitol, is a 70-year-old Washington tradition that brings together a bipartisan group of lawmakers for fellowship. Yesterday President Trump attended the National Prayer Breakfast and called for unity and an end to anti-Christian bias in the US. For those who don't know, the one group in this country that can get attacked with little push back happens to be Christians. I suppose that is because the US has a very tolerant majority.
During his speech yesterday, he called on the nation's newly appointed Attorney General to investigate the “targeting” of Christians. As those who accept facts already know, the FBI had investigated Catholics after clearly defining them as "extremist threats. " In classic Trump fashion, the President said that a task force would be directed to “immediately halt all forms of anti-Christian targeting and discrimination within the federal government, including at the DOJ, which was absolutely terrible, the IRS, the FBI - terrible - and other agencies.”
On a personal note, the President related how his relationship with religion had “changed” after a pair of failed assassination attempts last year and urged Americans to “bring God back" into their lives.
On the same day, a furious Tom Homan raged against an apparent intelligence leak that derailed a massive immigration raid on Tren de Aragua gang members in Colorado.
The incident unfolded early on Wednesday morning when hundreds of agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the FBI, CBP and DEA surrounded a number of apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado only to find that the Tren de Aragua gang members who had terrorized the complex had apparently been tipped off. 'They may find themselves in pair handcuffs very soon,' Homan said of whoever leaked information about the early morning raids. 'I'm working very close, starting this morning, with Department of Justice.'

Last night Laura Ingraham asked Jonathan Turley about democrats' response to DOGE:
TURLEY: “You have people all over the Beltway breathing in paper bags right now because of the idea that they could bring in these people, and that they're going to think outside the box. That's what Musk is known for. He's known as someone who rejects path dependence. He did that with Twitter. You know, they said he couldn't fire all those people at Twitter. Twitter became more efficient, and the operations continued unimpeded. That was against all the predictions that Twitter would literally shut down because it needed every one of those or most of those employees.
So, Musk is coming in here, and yeah, the terror alert in Washington is quite astonishing. But this idea that this is a danger to democracy is rather odd. You have a president who just ran on a pledge to shrink the government, to look for waste. He brought in someone from the outside for a reason, because past pledges by presidents have gone nowhere in terms of changing the way Washington functions. So, he brought in this guy who operates with a different approach. The truth is, they want people to leave some of these positions. The fact is that if you throw a badger into a crowded car, people are going to get out. And Musk is that badger. [Trump] threw him in that car, and they're trying to change the way government is composed and is running.”

DOGE went from a joke to a cause of existential panic for Democrats. People are losing their grift.
OMG, what will they be like next week when Musk starts looking at education funding?
Some in the media are concerned that he may assign his top investigator known as "big balls" to it.
Some of the same ones that were screaming hysterically at cameras the other day are now standing outside of the Department of Education office, demanding to be let in.
There is one guy at the door basically silently telling them to fuck off.
If they are so concerned about the children, as one of them screeched, where have they been over the past decades when our children have been dumbed down by liberal policies in the education system.
They are now crying about what THEY caused.
Does he look like he's 19 years old? It might be "big balls."
If they are so concerned about the children, as one of them screeched, where have they been over the past decades when our children have been dumbed down by liberal policies in the education system.
Most recently they shut down schools during covid. Prior to that they used taxpayer money to indoctrinate children. Obama all but ended discipline in the schools. It is about to all be reversed.
They are now crying about what THEY caused.
And America has risen against them.
One of the funny things I noticed is they want 16 year olds to be able to vote, but complain when a 19 year old is put in place to find THEIR corruption.

Is there some reason they shouldn’t be let in?
Seems like they should toss him to the side and bust down the door. That’s what patriots do, right?
He goes by, "big Balls" online, and he has your SSN#.. good job LOL
Only if the patriots busting down the doors are leftists- only those on the right are punished for doing that.
That absurd myth again. It should be amazing that people believe that, but the willingness to accept absurd conspiracy theories is pretty much on-brand at this point.
The hysterical reaction from some Democrats was bizarre, even for democrats. Presidents since Eisenhower have attended this.
And here is why the democrat party has become an absolute joke, We have a democrat rep quitting the DOGE caucus in congress, why you ask?
Now if it is a principled decision i might understand, but i wonder how you can effect change if you fucking quit you moron?
if she had stopped there she gets the benefit of the doubt but no, she just couldn't help herself.
They just can't help themselves, ignorant tired tropes.
You know, all of their other bullshit talking points seem to have passed but we always have the "tax breaks to billionaires" go to. Even if it is seemingly only in their imaginations.
The American people are on to them
My guess is because she was probably pressured by dem leadership to quit and act like she is all disappointed in what is happening.
In reality, she probably realized they are uncovering the grift and fraud her brethren have instigated over the decades and doesn't want to be tied in with uncovering it.
The amount of bullshit in that statement is right in line with the rest of the bullshit coming from the Democrats. I want to know when she thinks DOGE got that authority.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba didn’t skimp on the legwork as he prepared for his first meeting with President Donald Trump.
He huddled this week with SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, two executives Trump recently hosted at the White House . He sought advice from his immediate predecessor, Fumio Kishida .
Ishiba even called on the widow of Shinzo Abe, the Japanese prime minister with whom Trump bonded over rounds of golf during his first term.
“It will be our first face-to-face talks, so I would like to focus on building a personal relationship of trust between the two of us,” Ishiba told reporters before heading to Washington for his White House visit, taking place Friday.
It’s a tall order for Ishiba to replicate Trump’s relationship with Abe, who resigned as prime minister in 2020 and was assassinated by a gunman as he delivered a campaign speech in 2022. Nevertheless, Ishiba is making it a priority to connect with Trump.

I have a feeling a lot of diplomats will be meeting with Trump in Washington, since - as a convicted felon - he’s probably prohibited from visiting them.
How much do you want to bet that no countries refuse entry to trump?
Probably. Why would the special treatment stop now?
So basically your first comment was just trolling.
Nope. I’m sorry you feel the need to be antagonistic today over such a minor point, I think it’s a real question, but you do you I guess.
I am sorry you think that states have the right to prosecute federal laws.
Seem to remember Mayorkas and Garland both suing border states for enforcing their borders and immigration laws.
But with Democrats/leftists it is beyond OK for a New York DA and Democrat New York judge to prosecute and enforce federal election laws.
Only in TDS driven heads is Trump a convicted felon.
Those in reality see what that faux show trial was really all about.
I haven’t said that, nor would I. And if you’re talking about Trump, I know you know better. We have been over this and over this. Stop trying to push the lie that he was convicted of federal crimes in state court.
He is a convicted felon according to the law. You don’t have to like it, but any other take is irrational and denies facts.
I thought this was hilarious:
LMAO!
Holy shit that will put California leftists in a tailspin.
I wonder what happened to all those "Trump is ruining international relations" screeching we have been hearing here the past couple of weeks.
That ended when Canada, Mexico and Panama realized that Trump meant business.
They have moved onto the next thing to be outraged about. It is fun watching them attempt to keep up with outrage du jour.
I doubt it. The president only controls what the federal government does. He doesn’t have any authority over the state, counties, and cities of California and how they approach dealing with their own trash.
I get it, they wanted to do away with plastic straws. But when you look at it, the whole paper straw thing is stupid as hell. We had plastic straws wrapped in paper. Then they switched to paper straws wrapped in - PLASTIC. They didn't do a damn thing but force an inferior product on the people in a pathetic attempt to virtue signal.
That's an understatement. Using a paper straw only serves one purpose - to end one's thirst.
What’s wrong with paper straws? Who are these mentally challenged snowflakes who can’t manage to use a paper straw?
I think they think that paper straws drain your manliness or something. When, in fact, worrying about it is a sign it’s already gone.
But for some of them, the point is moot. Some of these babies have even gotten the idea that using a straw at all is unmanly.
Now those EV guys can get in on the annoying truck nutz issue .
should see the ones i found for the tesla cyber truck .....
The idea that God saved Trump is laughable.
Come on John, God loves guys that cheat on all three wives and pay off porn stars.
Did God tell you that John?
Reality told me that. Do you think a just god would save Donald Trump's life but not the life of a three-year-old girl with brain cancer or the families killed in an airplane crash or the millions of people that have been put to death around the world by totalitarian governments, . Or the human beings that starve to death everyday because they don't have food? It is offensive for people to claim that God save Donald Trump
Anyone who believes God saved Trump and not the three-year-old with brain cancer should donate their brains to brain cancer research. And not like after they die of brain cancer, now would be good. I think by definition, believing Trump was saved by God while small innocent children die of cancer, proves a person has brain cancer so they should just donate the brain right away.
There are 330 million people in America and Trump is dead last on the list of who could unite the country.
I love watching what maga xenophobes are doing to the catholic church in colorado. time to liquidate some assets ...
Probably not dead last but low to be sure. There are too many TDS sufferers that can't see past their hate to try to come together and compromise with him or a Republican party they consider Nazis.
I haven’t seen much evidence of Trump trying to compromise.
Obama and Biden didn't seem to be ready to compromise either
Remember the good old days when the Dems and Repubs could work together and get things done?
What happened? It certainly didn't start with the Republicans
Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neill: A Real-life Friendship
True, trump devotion syndrome is destroying the country.
TDS is what is destroying this country.
There is no known cure; and even if there was there would be no convincing those that have it to take it.
Newt Gingrich was a very polarizing figure in the 90's. He was one of the people who lead the Republicans towards divisive rhetoric and viewing the opposing party as enemies.
Obama tried to get both sides of the aisle to come together, but by the time of his election the Republican party was determined to make him a "one term president"(Thanks, Mitch. Good thing you missed that one./s) and seemed as a result to have the knee jerk reaction of casting anything that he tried to do as negatively as possible.
Biden didn't try all that hard because he knew where the cards lay and knew that no-matter what he said or did, it would be construed by the "other side" as deception, lies and whatever other catch phrases they could invent to tear him down personally and officially because of the perception of unfairness towards Trump.
All of this leaves us at where we are now: Two parties, each with about the same amount of pull on the public, gripped in a deathmatch. The Republicans have capitulated their once strong position of family values and fiscal conservatism for the devil-may-care, burn-it-all-down ethos of Trump and his followers. They appear to want not only to restructure the government, but also to wreak havoc on members of society whom they deem to have mistreated them in some way. This should immediately be recognizable to all as anti-American at the very least, but after three decades of mind poisoning by politicians and their mouthpieces in the press, Trump's supporters rally round and clamor for more.
We are in desperate need of a total reboot.
It most certainly was the Republicans. They have been the ones who have 'religiously' rejected compromise and have been doing it for years now which is how they ended up with a piece of shit like Trump leading their party.
The Republicans waged a 3-decade war on government. They got Trump.
Trumpism may have parallels in populist, nativist movements abroad, but it is also the culmination of a proud political party’s steady descent into a deeply destructive and dysfunctional state.
While that descent has been underway for a long time, it has accelerated its pace in recent years. We noted four years ago the dysfunction of the Republican Party, arguing that its obstructionism, anti-intellectualism, and attacks on American institutions were making responsible governance impossible. The rise of Trump completes the script, confirming our thesis in explicit fashion.
The Republicans abandoned compromise, which is essential in a democracy
This new version of the party eschewed any serious effort to bargain and compromise with the opposition party, an essential activity within the American constitutional system.
The reasons for the changes in the GOP were many, and the Democrats were affected by some of the same forces. Both parties were reshaped by political developments in the 1960s — the counterculture, the Vietnam War, Barry Goldwater’s candidacy, the Voting Rights Act, and the racial realignment of the South.

History confirms Republicans rejected a once-in-a-lifetime immigration opportunity
In reviewing the failed history of immigration efforts, remember that neither party was ever going to get their preferred solutions without some compromise:
The politics that have killed this deal in 2024 are clear. If Republicans pass legislation that improves the border chaos that’s plagued President Biden’s presidency, they ease a political albatross around his neck in the middle of a presidential campaign. But just as most Republicans look back at 2006, 2007, 2013 and 2018 as missed chances to improve our border policies, we surely will look back at this 2024 bill as the biggest whiff.
History confirms Republicans rejected a once-in-a-lifetime immigration opportunity
Republicans have been rejecting compromise for a while now and it's brought us here, to the brink of what some have considered the closest to civil war we've been since 1860. All because bigoted religious holier-than-though hypocritical Republicans refuse to compromise. They figure they'll just wait it out if they don't get their way or perhaps, they'll just support a slimy dictator who says he's got their back and they can do whatever the fuck they want, constitution be damned. And that's exactly what they voted for and what we have for the next four years, a lawless piece of shit felon backed by slimy lying self-serving religious bigots who want to install Christo-fascism as fast as they can so that it will take decades before we can rip it out of our government and throw it back into the tub of putrid stinking shit their vile ideology came from.
Yet somehow he beat the Democrat nominee, again.
Which means Kamala and Brandon are dead last on the list of who could unite the country.
They lost to Trump- just like Hillary did.
Other than specific military expenditures, government spending is not really a secret. So it’s more likely the former.
VP Musk is trying to figure out how to get more taxpayer dollars into his own pocket.
I would be curious to hear examples of this.
