Re: The "conflict between Trump and Zalenskiy-- we may be hearing more about the so-called "Rare Earth Elements" in the near future. (Ukraine has some, Trump wants them. Putin, Zalenskiy, and of course Elon Musk may express their opinions accordingly).

And of course our local "experts" should have their say!

Most of them are afraid of you.

Who is afraid of me?

I'm harmless-- in actuality I'm a real pussycat!

"Rare Earth Elements"

Most of which are located in Putin controlled areas of Ukraine giving this the appearance of a caveat emptor shell game.

Many people are unaware of the fact-- but there are some in the U.S. as well.

They're pretty well everywhere, but the problem is the ability to process them.

In any event, apparently extraction can be somewhat hazardous. IIRC mining some of them releases toxins...?

I just listened to Tom Lehrer singing the elements, but I don't know what to search for the first YouTube.

The first video is rather unusual. You might try searching for "Jim Parsons will never ever forget 'The Elements' song on Conan.

I don't know how much you know about popular American "Late Nite TV". "Conan" (Conan O'Brien) has his own late night TV show. He interviews guests, well known celebrities from the media.

In this video he is interviewing Jim Parsons, a well known actor (oneof the main characters) from the very popular TV comedy show "The Big Bang Theory".

Why I posted it here is that during the interaction between the host (Conan) and Parsons, Parsons goes into talking about how difficult it was to memorize the elements in that song ("The Elements"). He also points out that as an experienced actor he's generally become very good at memorizing lines-- but this one was difficult.

That video is not all that important, but I posted itbecause it is related to Tom Lehrer 's performing the song. Which I posted only because its somewhat related to a topic in the news, i.e. "Rare Earth Elements".

I usually don't watch these types of shows (like "The Big Bang Theory'0 but I used to watch that one because IMO the humor is much more sophisticated that much TV comedy.

In addition, the characters (except for Penny) are all "intellectuals"-- "nerds", "Geeks"-- and they are the sort of friends I hung out with when I was that age!

(I used to walk around with a slide rule hanging from my belt, a a pen protector in my shirt pocket full fo different coloured pencils.

And of course Trump has expressed his opinion (and then changed it):

In reversal, Trump says Russia attacked Ukraine!!!

What will happen next is anyone's guess...

Maybe he should consider reversing his tariff war now that the stocks are taking a hit as a precursor to the bankruptcies that might start happening.

As I mentioned I follow the market closely, and do some trades.

Everytime there's some new news item about Trump and the tariffs the market reacts...back and forth. Trump has said he actually doesn't care abouthow the market does (which is a blatant lie).

As I do some trading, I watch it daily, and try to anticipate his next move-- and occasionally do trades based upon my guesses.

P.S: There is actually an American company that has finally begun mining of rare earths (In the U.S.). I own a little but I am not recomending it as it is still pretty risky(And I used to say I'd never own any Bitcoin or related stocks, but since Trump got elected (and he's very "pro-Bitcoin") I do have some exposure to that.
