America's business

America's business
"I will meet with President Trump," the Ukrainian leader said on Wednesday. "For me, and for all of us in the world, it is crucial that America's assistance is not stopped. Strength is essential on the path to peace."

It was another busy day for President Trump, doing America's business.
President Trump hosted the British prime minister, Keir Starmer, for diplomatic talks about Ukraine, trade and more. We won't know what the details are yet, but it sounds like the US and the UK might just have arranged a very sweet trade deal. The PM also brought with him a letter from the King of England. It turned out to be an invitation for President Trump to meet with the British Monarch. PM Stamer pointed out that it was the only time a world leader got a second invitation by the King. An honor that belongs to Donald Trump alone.

Trump praised Starmer for announcing this week that Britain would increase its military spending to 3 percent of economic output within a decade. England as we all know once civilized and educated the world. The British Empire died along with most of Europe after the Second World War (as England calls it.)  Today England is the personification of the Socialist nanny state. It also is fighting against the populist movement that is sweeping Europe. It was nice to see two leaders so ideologically apart come to agreement on a few vital issues.

Later today, Trump will meet with Ukraine’s president. They are set to sign a deal that gives some of Ukraine’s mineral wealth to the United States, meeting one of Trump’s conditions for supporting Ukraine.

In the news:

The Israeli military released the first findings from its internal investigations into the Oct. 7 attacks. It found that senior officers had underestimated Hamas and misinterpreted warnings about the attack.

Mexico transferred more than two dozen drug cartel operatives to the U.S. for prosecution, including a founding member of the Sinaloa cartel. In the US they are likely to be prosecuted and imprisoned. In Mexico they could likely escape. The cartels are much stronger than the Mexican government.

China has been staging military drills off Australia and Vietnam. It is showing off its military power in the region. Maybe Trump should offer Australia nuclear weapons?

Defense Department schools, which serve American children on military bases, have cut "pride programs" in compliance with the President's end wokeness in the military policy. The Defense Department is barring transgender members of the military from service.

Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed a witness told her that the FBI Field Office in New York has thousands of pages worth of outstanding documents and demanded the bureau fork over that material so that she can disclose it to the public.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement will reopen a federal immigration detention center in Newark, New Jersey, that has a 1,000-bed capacity — the largest facility of its type on the East Coast.

You mean a headline for the "funny pages."

Our comics section is far too large and as I once told our comedy writer member: (no longer here,) it simply isn't even funny.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Republican-backed candidate for Wisconsin Supreme Court race who has received  the support of Elon Musk  said Wednesday that it's more concerning that his Democratic-supported opponent is  benefiting from donations  by liberal philanthropist George Soros.

“I don’t think these two things compare,” Brad Schimel told reporters. “I don’t think they equate at all.”

The race for ideological control of the battleground state's highest court is nonpartisan in name only, with Republicans lining up behind Schimel and Democrats backing Susan Crawford. The election on April 1 will determine whether liberals maintain their 4-3 majority on the court with major cases dealing with  abortion union rights , election law and congressional redistricting already under consideration by the court or expected to be argued before it soon.

Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates spar over Musk and Soros donations in high-stakes race

It is obvious why George Soros is flooding this race with money. If democrats can redistrict it might force out 2 GOP seats.

It’s a farce. Nothing to do with justice, just soros buying a judicial election to steal congressional seats with a mid decade partisan gerrymander.

And when you see a budget deal that gets by with a 217-215 vote, the reason is clear.

Yesterday at the press conference with Starmer  a reporter asked Trump about Gaza.   Shamefully he, nor any other reporter , asked the president* about the sick and vile video he posted two days ago imagining a 50 ft. tall gold statue of himself on a Gazan plaza and Elon Musk giddily throwing money in the air on a Gazan beach.  Lets not leave out the new hotel, the Trump Gaza, suggesting Trump wants to personally monetarily profit off the souls of 50,000 dead.

How do you explain that Vic?

How do you explain that Vic?

Simple. Reporters ask questions on substance rather than frivolity. At least they should. I think the Washington Press Corps has been educated recently.

BTW, I love when Trump called on one of them by saying "You with the nice face."  Even the PM had to laugh!

The accurate description is that they are afraid of getting AP'd, or worse.

If the president*  "joking" about forcefully renaming after himself a piece of land where 50,000 people have recently died  than nothing is news.

Did you hear a reporter ask him if he meant it when he called Zelensky a dictator?

Trump responded with "I can't believe I said that."

We know he didn't mean that. You did reference normal minds, right?
