Kremlin: Washington now ‘largely aligns’ with Moscow’s vision
The Pentagon is halting cyber operations against Russia, despite ongoing attacks from Moscow

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

In the Trump administration’s latest overture to the Kremlin, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth   has   reportedly   ordered a halt to offensive cyber operations against Russia—a move that has been cast as part of the president’s stated effort to get a ceasefire in Ukraine. “There will be all kinds of carrots and sticks to get this war to an end,” National Security Adviser Mike Waltz   said   Sunday on CNN.

The reported pause comes despite ongoing Russian cyber attacks on the United States and its traditional allies—and as President   Donald Trump   openly embraces Russian strongman   Vladimir Putin   over   Volodymyr Zelensky .   “He’s got to say, ‘I want to make peace,’” Trump said regarding Zelensky on Friday, shortly after he and Vice President   JD Vance   browbeat the Ukrainian president during a shocking Oval Office dustup. “He doesn’t have to stand there and say about ‘Putin this, Putin that,’ all negative things. He’s got to say, ‘I want to make peace. I don’t want to fight a war any longer.’” Earlier in the day, during that precedent-shattering meeting, Trump said of Zelensky: “You see the hatred he’s got for Putin. That’s very tough for me to make a deal with that kind of hate.”

Zelensky has good reason to distrust and detest Putin—the Russian autocrat invaded Ukraine three years ago, after all. However, Trump has   suggested Kyiv is to blame   for the bloody conflict. While his administration has refused to provide security guarantees to Ukraine and has   closed the door on NATO membership   for the besieged democracy, the president has   suggested   that Russia may not need to make any concessions as part of his desired ceasefire. “It’s too early to say what’s going to happen,” Trump said last month. “Maybe Russia will give up a lot, maybe they won’t, and it’s all dependent on what is going to happen.”

That led to Friday’s Oval Office confrontation, in which Trump and Vance hectored the wartime leader for supposedly lacking gratitude for US support, casting him as an impediment to peace. “You’re either going to make a deal or we’re out,” Trump told Zelensky, whom he described as a “dictator” prior to their meeting. “You don’t have the cards right now,” the US president declared.

The White House asked Zelensky to leave after the heated, televised exchange—which the administration  maintains  was not planned—and the fallout has persisted, reflecting a paradigm shift in Trump’s Washington away from traditional alliances.

Some Republicans seem to bristle at this Moscow-friendly turn in the US approach to the conflict. The Oval Office blow-up marked a “bad day for America’s foreign policy,” GOP Congressman  Don Bacon   told  The Hill. “We should be clear that we stand for freedom.”

Is that like some "I'm rubber you're glue" playground logic? The President Republicans elected is literally repeating Russian propaganda talking points and abandoning our ally which is EXACTLY what Putin wanted, but it's Democrats pushing Russian propaganda? I honestly can't think how dense a brain must be to believe something so mind-numbingly stupid.

Wtf are you talking about? Russia is giving Trump a standing ovation for taking a giant crap all over our alliances. You can call it propaganda, but they are clearly stoked. Trump is giving Putin more than he dared hope for.

It's true. Putin holds all the cards right now. Zelensky wants the hostilities to continue, believing he can somehow defeat and defang the Russian bear, and wants the USA to fund it. The majority of Americans don't want to pay for it or have US troops involved

I believe that would be Trump the King of Pussies. Apparently, he grabbed them all and now they're his base.

It's true. Putin holds all the cards right now.

It's not.  Can Putin send jets or helicopters over Ukraine wherever he wishes?  No.

God bless the Russian Navy if you can find it.  It certainly cannot conduct offensive operations against the Ukraine.

Russia couldn't even steal oil from the Uranian oil platforms or hold Snake island.

Now that the UK< US< France and Germany took the offensive limits off of their missiles and the Ukrainian's figured out how to get better range out of their own missiles, Moskow is within reach of many of these platforms

Zelensky wants the hostilities to continue,

Zelensky did not start this.

believing he can somehow defeat and defang the Russian bear,

possibly

and wants the USA to fund it.

I am sure he doesnt care if it's the EU or the USA

The majority of Americans don't want to pay for it or have US troops involved

Maybe so, but that will be remembered by future generations when some Asian country again attacks the US and we need the help.

I would guess that Kavika means that Trump's braub has been virtually implanted with a module that enables Russian propaganda to take hold there.  Did you ever watch either version of The Manchurian Candidate?

I wouldn’t say all. There are still several countries intent on helping Ukraine, even if Trump isn’t interested. He’s probably already getting ready to rename another geographical location.

Yeah, whatever .. if President Trump is embracing Putin, it is because he knows that Putin does not have to be an enemy, and the fighting needs to stop!   It might be possible to salvage parts (perhaps all) of eastern Ukraine - but Crimea was a forgone conclusion in 2014, Zelensky knew / knows that.

If one takes a deep dive, you will find that the US has been a major instigator [if that is too harsh a word, how does stir stick sound?] in the aggressive actions that Putin has taken in Ukraine since the 2014 coup that toppled Yanukovych on the closing weekend of the Sochi Winter Olympics to present day.

Friday was unexpected to say the least, but Zelensky was not browbeat, he was not ambushed .. Zelensky's brand of 'toxic masculinity' is being ignored or perhaps even worshipped as some kind of comic book superhero .. is this because at all costs Trump is worse than anyone alive or dead like say Hitler? -- [scream throw hands in air .. runaway]

I certainly have no answers - but I am smart enough to see that there is a serious embellishment of truth going round in a circle on a 2-way street .. selective outrage is off the charts .. Wow, for real, anyone that was brave enough to acknowledge in public that they saw the decline in former President Bidens cognitive skills that was so blatantly obvious to anyone with eyes, or anyone that has watched a loved one sundowning .. 'we' were called liars, conspiracy theorists ... and many other lists of things.. such bullshit that a book is being written .. they should not be able to make money off of former President Biden decline - especially while he is alive!

The mainstream media is laying off, even firing and canceling left leaning political programing - who is missing this messaging?

Nobodies right if everyone is wrong....!  Before nukes enter into this equation .. cannot a middle ground be found?

Give Peace a chance...

Okay, I am putting my high horse SoapBox back in her stall  - Peace!
