I wonder why you are asking that question when you have already posted a perfectly sane self-benefiting although illegal reason for the swinging back and forth trade war he has created, i.e. to profit from the volatile rise and fall in the stock market.  That is the true face of the man.

Everything that Trump has said and done over the past few decades proves that he is an insane fascist who couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it.

He preaches hate and fear to his low IQ sycophants.

MAGA folk are mostly grade school dropouts.

Sad that there are so many of them that Fox enabled.

Fuck all low IQ fascists who think their voice matters.

You hate-filled ignorant idiots are the scum of the earth.

Proof?

I know of zero Trump supporters that are high school dropouts. I do, however, know a couple of leftists that did not better than bouncers in strip clubs.

"You hate-filled ignorant idiots are the scum of the earth."

Not sure who you are talking about, but if I had to guess, I would guess many on the left because they have been spewing hatred to those who do not toe the loon left line. See 1.1.3 for proof of this.

the last time the exit polls actually measured less than high school degree as a group, they voted overwhelmingly for Obama.  In fact, less than high school degree was the strongest educational group for Obama.  Then they stopped measuring.

Perhaps to stop embarrassing Republicans. They do still keep track of voter college education levels which continue the trend of FAR lower levels of education among Republican voters.

America's diploma divide: States with fewer grads went for Trump

One factor with a startlingly strong record of predicting whether a state voted Trump or Harris: the percentage of their population that graduated college.

Why it matters:   America has split, and flipped, by education levels. Democrats have largely   lost the working-class voters   who elected Barack Obama, and college-educated professionals are shifting away from the Republican Party.

  • Now those with degrees overwhelmingly back Dems, and those without make up most of the red base.

By the numbers:   College graduates made up 43% of the electorate, and 55% voted for Vice President Harris,   per exit polls .

  • 56% of voters without degrees voted for President-elect Trump.
College education levels predicted whether states went Trump or Harris

"We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated." Donald J Trump

Yes, yes you did.

Let's take a look at your claim, to wit...

"MAGA folk are mostly grade school dropouts."

No Google fact-check information was found for claim: 'MAGA folk are mostly grade school dropouts.'

Your little link showed no such thing either.

Your sad attempt at a gotcha failed....again.

? Where did I say that?

I mean, in essence what you claim seems to be true, but that's not a claim I made. I would think it would take at least finishing grade school to have reading comprehension to be able to read and understand all of my post.

I do find it pretty funny that you're putting words in my mouth but stating the truth even when I wasn't saying it. Talk about a "sad attempt".

I wonder if that was a sentiment heard often some 90 years ago. "Hey, give it a rest already, you complain and tell us what a danger little Adolf is every day! Sure, he's a little whacky, but we have the Weimer constitution in place! How much harm can he really do? What is your point berating and belittling him every day?"...

Unhinged Rants Put Trump’s Lunacy on Full Display

Klaus Marre 8-10 minutes   3/12/2025

As this week has shown, it’s not ideal to have a crazy person run the United States of America.

Just in case anybody forgot that Donald Trump is nuts, the US president had another public meltdown on social media Tuesday when he ranted and raved about tariffs, making Canada a state, and the one GOP lawmaker with a principle other than, “Let’s placate crazy grandpa because that way we can have power.”

Predictably, Trump reminding the world that he is not only cuckoo but also a mean, vindictive man (and, quite frankly, a complete moron) did very little to ease jitters on Wall Street.

Actually, what’s most surprising about the country being run by someone who is not right in the head is how little stocks are falling in light of this lunatic’s attempt to break the US government, the Constitution, and the economy.

That is really a big part of the story.   Everybody   knows that Trump is mentally ill, but nobody is willing to spell it out or do something about it.

Both Democrats and Republicans just keep going on about their business as though this is normal and not a five-alarm fire that is going to engulf the entire nation.   All of them   are betraying their oaths of office by doing nothing.

The same is true for everybody else ranging from business leaders and journalists to Supreme Court justices.

What are you doing???

Let’s get to the particulars.

Doug_Ford_Building_Faster_Fund_3x2-900x600.jpg

After threatening Canada, aka the US’s neighbor, friend, and largest trading partner, with tariffs since taking office, Trump absolutely lost it when the Doug Ford, the premier of the province of Ontario, fought back with a tariff of 25 percent on electricity to show Americans that everybody loses in a trade war (Ford   later said   he would hold off on the tariffs after he and US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick agreed to meet to resolve the trade disputes).

Being challenged when trying to bully someone else is obviously not something Trump can handle, so he immediately overreacted by placing a massive tariff on Canadian steel and aluminum.

Again, we all know that this is terrible policy. Actually, it’s not policy at all. It’s just the reaction of an unstable old coot who is drunk on power and losing his grasp on reality.

Trump called Ontario’s response to   his   aggression an “abusive threat,” but in the very next sentence he vowed to cripple Canada’s automobile manufacturing industry.

Of course, because he has a God complex (among other mental disorders), all of this is about two things: The first is that Trump hates feeling as though someone is getting the best of him. And the other is that he wants to be the greatest president ever and believes that this is best achieved by massive territorial gains, i.e., by adding Canada (and Greenland) to the US.

Therefore, predictably, he once again laid out his “reasons” why Canada should become a state… along with a not-so-subtle reference to its military weakness.

Of course, Canada does not really need a massive military because it had no enemies… until now.

And the armed forces it has were more than sufficient to come to the US’s aid to fight in Afghanistan in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

He followed his first post up with another in which he once again placed the blame for his trade war at Canada’s feet.

“[Can] you imagine Canada stooping so low as to use ELECTRICITY, that so affects the life of innocent people, as a bargaining chip and threat?” Trump wrote in a statement that is completely lacking in introspection since it is   his   tariffs that will do the same to a much greater extent in Canada (and Mexico).

He concluded that second tirade with a menacing threat.

“They will pay a financial price for this so big that it will be read about in History Books for many years to come!” Trump stated.

He then followed up those diatribes with one directed at another person who dares to stand up to him and his bullying, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).

Massie is apparently the only Republican in Congress who actually has values and on Tuesday voted against a continuing resolution that will largely maintain current budget levels and therefore add hundreds of billions of dollars to the national debt through September.

Since Trump has no principles, this is hard for him to understand… but certainly in his mind a reason to punish the lawmaker.

“Thomas Massie is a GRANDSTANDER, and the Great People of Kentucky are going to be watching a very interesting Primary in the not too distant future!” Trump stated.

OK, crazy grandpa!

All of this bears repeating the question we asked the nation’s “leaders” earlier: What are you going to do about it?

Massie can’t be the only one with principles and a spine.

A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Lose - Paul Krugman

The two most powerful men in America have gone stark raving mad.

I don’t say this because I disagree with their ideologies or believe that they have very bad policy ideas. That’s been true for quite a few politicians over the years. But while I’ve always considered, say, Mitch McConnell a malign influence on America, while I described Paul Ryan as a  flimflam man , I never questioned their sanity.

And yes, I’m well aware of the dangers involved in questioning people’s mental stability from afar, especially in a political context. I personally have been the target of that sort of thing, back when people accused me of being unhinged for suggesting that the Bush administration was taking us to war on false pretenses.

But I don’t see how you can look at recent statements by Donald Trump and Elon Musk without concluding that both men have lost their grip on reality.

News reports still tend to sanewash what our leaders have been saying, and even selected quotations often make them sound more rational than they are. Fortunately, both are addicted to posting on social media, and you really have to read some of their posts to get a full sense of the madness.

So here’s Trump, ranting against Canada:

https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/w_848,c_limit,f_webp,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fd866791f-7448-4e9c-a3cf-0cd97d974efd_1628x1570.png 848w, 1272w, 1456w" sizes="100vw" > https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fd866791f-7448-4e9c-a3cf-0cd97d974efd_1628x1570.pnghttps://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/w_848,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fd866791f-7448-4e9c-a3cf-0cd97d974efd_1628x1570.png 848w, 1272w, 1456w" sizes="100vw" >

Leave aside the nonsensical claims that Canada is a high-tariff nation subsidized by the United States. When Trump first began talking about turning Canada into the 51 st  state, many people treated it as a joke. But Trump doesn’t appear to be in on the joke. He just keeps doubling down, even as the people of Canada grow ever more outraged. No sane leader would imagine that it’s a good idea to threaten a heretofore friendly but proudly patriotic neighbor and ally with annexation. But a sane leader is exactly what we don’t have.

Then there’s Elon Musk. Surely almost everyone except Trump realizes that DOGE has been a bust; despite unprecedented and often illegal access to government agencies, it has yet to come up with  any  credible major examples of waste or fraud. Even Musk, I suspect, knows at some level that he’s failing. But like Trump on Canada, he just keeps doubling down.

Consider Musk’s quickly and  easily refuted  claim that tens of millions of dead people are receiving Social Security checks. This was a deeply embarrassing error, one that would have killed most people’s political careers. Still, Musk might have been able to ride it out by admitting that his minions had failed to understand the Social Security Administration’s databases.

But no. Musk has  reiterated  his claim that we’re making huge payments to dead people, and is now insisting that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, showing that he hasn’t made any effort to understand how the bedrock of American retirement  works . Musk’s obsession with supposed fraud in Social Security is looking a lot like Trump’s obsession with annexing Canada; apparently he simply can’t admit error, even to himself, and change course.
