Captain Donald J Queeg Steers The Ship Into A Storm
In the book and movie The Caine Mutiny the captain of the Caine, Francis Queeg, testifies at the court martial of the subordinate that led a "mutiny" against him. Over the course of the cross examination Queeg is revealed to be a disturbed, thin skinned man who blames everyone else for his own shortcomings and he unravels so badly the court martial case is dropped. One of the key elements in the case is a package of missing strawberries
Queeg's next act of paranoia begins when over half of a prized container of strawberries is discovered to be empty. He concocts elaborate and time-consuming procedures in which to catch the thief. These occupy all of the officers and crew for long hours and further erode confidence in and respect for the captain.

I saw both movies and I read the book. The book is so much better than either version tho I like the Humphrey Bogart version better

It is easy for someone to make a claim that cannot be falsified. Trump, the con-man, knows that he can keep claiming that none of the wars would have happened (magically) if he were PotUS. But now that he is PotUS, he cannot seem to figure out how to end these wars. His ' end the war in a phone call ' did not seem to pan out. Not seeing any magical powers from the Trump superhero.
Instead of ending the war with Ukraine (and that requires overpowering Putin) Trump instead weakens our ally Ukraine. Apparently his plan for ending the war was the cowardly act of kowtowing to Putin and trying to force Ukraine into submission. To create perfect propaganda for Putin to broadcast 24x7 on Russian media where the PotUS declares that Ukraine started the war, that their leader is a dictator with a 4% approval and that Ukraine has already lost the war.
Yeah, Trump is a real genius at negotiation.

On top of that, he was elected primarily to lower prices and interest rates (since other than that he was handed a great economy). Instead, this buffoon, engages in gratuitous tariffs that trigger trade wars and harm international relationships. Instead of lower prices, Trump has guaranteed price hikes, triggered a stock market correction (an artificial one), and will wind up reducing consumption and could very well put us into a recession.
Trump is stubbornly incompetent.
Yet his supporters keep defending his every move. Of course, they cannot defend the logic since it is irrational so they engage in this ridiculous notion that Trump actually knows what he is doing and that we need to be patient and see this stable genius play out. The analogy of a cult is quite appropriate.
Funny how if you ask Trump a hypothetical that upsets him he will respond with “what if a bomb drops on your head”, but everyone is supposed to just accept as gospel that if Trump had been in the White House the war wouldn’t have happened. He truly thinks everyone just agrees with that supremely stupid notion.
Judging from comments on forums like this one and continued spineless rubber-stamping by Congress, a lot (far too many) seem to agree with his stupid notions.
Further, on a related notion, Trump has engaged in trolling and trashing Zelensky. So what do many of his supporters do? They trash Zelensky too! It is truly pathetic to observe cult-like behavior from people who should know better and, worse, who vote.
I never would've retired from big ticket sales had I known there was so many gullible suckers in the US.
