The greatest blowhard of all time.
“I rise tonight because I believe sincerely that our country is in crisis.”

The great drama junkie finally did it! He set the record for a filibuster. Only it wasn't really a filibuster. It had no point and no meaning. He is on the wrong side of evey issue and for some reason he bullshitted for 25 hours.

It had no point and no meaning.

If you think it had no point, you clearly didn’t watch any of it. When you just dismiss something like this out of hand and don’t address anything he said, that tells us more about you than his message. He didn’t read Green Eggs and Ham. He actually talked about important things.

You claim he had a point.

What was it?

You just refuse to watch any part of it or read up on it, huh? Sure, I’ll do your homework for you.

He criticized basically all the stuff Trump has done or is doing this year in terms of policy and international relations. Not in a vague or general way, but very specifically, and in detail. We’re talking about all of it, from indiscriminate firings, to the value of arbitrarily gutted programs, ignoring legally created programs and dismissing legally appropriated funds as waste or fraud.

He put a human face - perhaps futilely trying to appeal to whatever empathy might remain in the Republican Party - on the actions taken thus far. He cited several stories of regular people from around the country.

He discussed the history of these things, but also the history of speaking up against them. He encouraged regular people to do what they could, but also conveyed that elected officials, like himself, were doing what they could. He particularly stressed the importance of that grass roots response.

In short, he had a lot to say that was of value. I am saddened - but not surprised - that no one on the right here today has shown any inclination to actually engage with any part of it.

Waste of time. None of us individually or even as group have enough oooompf to do anything about it. If you choose to live always looking for the negative, then that is what you are destined to live by. I and mine are just fine as well as millions of others who are waiting to find out the results. Not dooming ourselves prior to seeing what happens.

Like many other things, neither Trump nor Musk are economic idiots.

It also sounds like he said nothing that hasn't been said before or couldn't be said in 10 minutes. Pretty sad when the dems have to resort to tricks to try and get people to listen to them. They also seem to ignore the attention span of the average American may be 15 minutes.

LOL. Took me back to the movie The Big Chill when Jeff Goldblum talks about the shortness of articles in People magazine as they have to be short enough for the average person to read in the crapper. For those who don't remember, Jeff Goldblum played Michael Gold who was a journalist for People magazine.

I understand why people assume that. They’re rich. But that only means they are accomplished at enriching themselves. It doesn’t say anything about their ability to enrich the middle or working classes.

As of March 2025, the average annual salary for employees at Tesla Motors Inc in the United States is  $122,241 . This translates to an approximate hourly wage of $59.

Only five employees surveyed make below six figures, while the majority make between $100,000 and $149,000

Uh huh. You really believe that? I mean, think about it for a while.

Tesla's salary ranges from $49,750 in total compensation per year for a Administrative Assistant at the low-end to $542,640 for a Legal at the high-end.  Levels.fyi collects anonymous and verified salaries from current and former employees of   Tesla . Last updated:  4/3/2025

And whatever the numbers for this one company are, that doesn't change what I wrote, which I think you clearly need to re-read.

No one will ever think or talk about this again until the next bloviating fool wants to make the political addicts in his party notice him or her for a couple hours. And then they'll say "you talked longer than someone named Cory Booker did for no apparent reason in 2025.  Congrats!"

This is as dumb and pointless as stunts get.

Not as dumb and pointless as all the ad hominem arguments from people [] who clearly didn’t watch it. Not surprising. Y’all were probably afraid to hear what he had to say.

The fact that Chucky Schumer had to announce that Blowhard has broken "the record" and the whole circus ended shortly after, should be an indication that this was nothing more than grandstanding.

"The record" Chucky was referring to, was set by Strom Thurmond who blathered on to stop the Civil Rights Act.  Blowhard blathered on to, well, talk.  There was no bill or anything else on the floor to discuss or vote for.

I had been told that the Democrats approval rating had dropped after this clown show.

This idiot talked for 25 hours and made fewer substantial points then Biden did at the trump debate, and Biden has Alzheimer's.
