Hoot Hoot! Really Bad Pictures, but...
Last week, a strange noise drew my attention at 5 in the morning. Sounded almost like someone trying to knock a wall down, so I looked out the window and found, to my utter disbelief, two owls engaged in combat. Now, I am not sure whether it was a playful combat or a vicious one, but one owl was bending face down over the gutter running along the roof of my porch and the other was jabbing at it. It turned to look at me rather angrily and it made the other one look up, too, for a few moments, then it bucked down again! I had no clue what on earth was going on but in the dusky light of the morning, just before sunrise, I was standing by my window staring at two owls two feet away from me, trying to get as good a picture as I could without scaring the hell out of them.
