Mother Speaks Out After Being Kicked Out Of Restaurant For Ordering Alcohol While Breastfeeding
A mom who was thrown out of Woody's Bar & Grill restaurant in Chesapeake, Virginia while breastfeeding and sitting in front of a shot of alcohol and beer is fighting back.
Crystal, who says she was enjoying a Labor Day meal with family at the establishment, took to Facebook after the incident and called Big Woodys a business that is unfriendly to breastfeeding moms, reports News Channel 3 . She says she was kicked out because her breast was bare as she was feeding her 11-month-old baby, reports CBS 6 .
The treatment was wrong, Crystal said.
But Big Woodys co-owner Jeff Leroy says his manager spotted the mom drinking and made the call to turn her away because she was consuming alcohol while nursing. He said its not easy to talk to a breastfeeding mom about such behavior, but that the manager did what he felt was right.
Crystal doesnt deny ordering drinks, but says she was only planning to consume them after she was finished breastfeeding. She says she is a chemist and has researched how much alcohol a nursing woman can consume before it has any affect on the baby.

The way she was treated has divided Facebook users, many of whom are focusing on a mothers right to breastfeed in a public place.
Crystal, who says she is planning to organize a nurse-in, says there is no law that says she cant breastfeed and drink and that the manager was wrong for refusing them service because a few patrons complained about her behavior.
Leroy and his partner are adamant about the fact that they dont have an issue with women breastfeeding in their restaurant.
I would like to see this be turned around and end up being positive, he said. Were willing to sit down and talking with them and see if we can turn this around and see if we can make something positive on educating people on how to breastfeed in public.

Supposedly, the beer and shot of Fireball was for after she finished nursing her baby...ok, but she still had to drive home with the bay in the car.
If she will do that in a bar, human behavior leads that she will do that and worse at home.
Total case of child endangerment. Sometimes I think that we should be given a breeding licence. She makes a case for that.
It makes me kind of wonder what she would do in the privacyof herhome...good point 1st.
I wonder where was the "Baby Daddy?"
One has to wonder why you used that particular terminology....Is there something wrong with it?
Maybe she's married, maybe she isn't.,Maybe the child's father was there, I was curiousas to where he was.When it says Family it could also mean only Parents, siblings cousins etc.
