They're Back … Hopefully.

Compared to past summers, this summer has been disturbingly void of butterflies. But in the last week or so, I have begun to see Swallowtails, Silver-spotted Skippers and Hairstreak butterflies.

Just took this in the last hour.

Great photo Amac, we still haven't seen many butterflies in my area as yet. To bad as they are beautiful to watch.

What a great photo, the colors of both the butterfly and the flower are amazing.

We have hundreds of butterflys around. Those and the little fellows, the hummingbird.

1st,

I thought it was a local problem but then noticed the same absence of butterflies in the mountains; I did some research and read that this is happening in much of the U.S. .

I look forward to seeing that many next June when I'm out there.

I know I started with a butterfly, but then this Bee came by and landed on a Cosmos flower well, one thing led to another and before I knew it I was photographing bees again.

Can't help it.

The bee is below the butterfly.

I bee addicted I guess.

You were just a busy bee taking that beautiful pic of the butterfly that you let that bee slipped in. The funny thing about bumble bees is that they are very pretty little guys... but not worth the Russian Roullet of going near them.

I understand the fear of anaphylactic shock; but as close as I get to them and as frequently, I rarely gut stung.
