YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK A survey left behind at Xanterra Parks and Resorts, which operates facilities in Yellowstone National Park, reveals that one visitor thinks the parks bears need more training.
Posted to reddit.com , the survey reads:
"Our visit was wonderful but we never saw any bears. Please train your bears to be where guests can see them. This was an expensive trip to not get to see bears."
LMAO, please tell me that their not that stupid.
They are that stupid. A high school friend worked at the entrance to the park, and got repeated questions of when do they turn the animals out.
I can believe that Jim..I've been to Yellowstone many times and saw tourists do some really stupid things. One guy walked up to a small herd of elk, and started taking pictures. A Park Ranger was yelling and waving his arms for the guy to get the hell away from the elk. Right than a bull decided that he didn't want his photo taken and tossed the guy about 15 feet through the air. If the Park Rangers had not of been there the guy would be dead.
Amazing how stupid people are.
K.... This is funny! I would suggest the tourist wipe himself down with a little bacon grease. He would see all the bears he wanted.
And he/she would get a very, up close and personal look at them dd.
she should be careful what she asks for
LOL...on the job training for boo boo!
For sure she should...It's hard to believe that people are that stupid about wildlife. Oh well, they may be a snack for a bear if they keep up with stupid.
LOL, if one of those tourists gets between the she bear and her cub, they will be lunch, Uppy.
I'd be giving up the pic a nic basket fer sure!
That bear is just playing, I'm sure he was having a good time.
I wonder if the tourist was?
Oh the oldest profession in the world, hanging in car windows.... (But of course, look at the age of those windows gotta, be mid to late fifties given the '56 chevy in the background)
People ARE that stupid. Sad, isn't it? I wonder where they are from-- the MUST be city dwellers...
Playing with bears isn't a good pass time NWM...
Probably are city dwellers Dowser. Soon to be lunch.
I bet they are "tasty".
Hey Yogi, looks like lunch to me......Camping in bear country.
Sadly this is no joke, this season there have been a number of bison gorings, and at least one grizz fatality that resulted in the bear being put down and her cubs being sent to zoos.
I have lived in the Yellowstone area for almost a quarter of a century now , and it seems to me the tourists are getting dumber and dumber with the stunts they pull.
Yellowstone was set up for peoples enjoyment and to preserve it , not as a cageless zoo, these animals are indeed wild in every sense of the word , but they are use to seeing humans , that does not make them tame , or docile and they deserve to be given the space they need so as to NOT create a conflict. But too often humans make wrong assumptions , ignore common sense rules in place , and ultimately its the wildlife that end up paying the price.
I remember doing chipsealing in grand Teton NP , while on a luch break I had a tourist ask how we got thestyrofoam up on the mountains and if there was a road to go up , they thought the view would be spectacular, mind you this was mid aug, my lunch mate sarcastically , but with straight face said that's not Styrofoam , but real snow, the tourist said how much does it cost to make snow at this time of year?
needless to say we couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the job , everytime we saw a tourist....
I absolutely love going up to Paradise on the side of Mt Rainier on my birthday in July for the annual snowball fight. And yeah, we get them here also. You just have to smile when you hear one saying to their friends that they didn't know that they brought snow up the mountains in the summertime.
You smile at that, but one day we heard an associate of one such brainiac say "Yeah, I wonder where they hide the trucks?" We laughed for at least a couple of hours...
Idiot.
Makes me wonder what the bears think when they see tourists? From my experience it seemsbears do NOT like to be around humans.
I don't understand why so many people can't get it through their heads, that the animals are wild, and will react as such. Sadly your right Mark, the wildlife end up paying the price.
The Teton story is classic. BTW, the Teton NP is one of my favorites of all the NP's.
NWM, they hid the trucks right behind the cutouts of bear.
''seems bears do NOT like to be around humans'', except to have them for lunch...
:~) ... Papa Bear to Momma Bear..."guess who's coming as to dinner"!
LOL, I'm sure!!!
Funny, Mark!
