Greenland’s icecap losing stability

JakobshavnIsbraeGlacier2007.jpg Are people sticking their heads in the sand,or melting snow? Have we just been assured so many times that the Greenland ice sheet will never melt that we dont sit up and take notice? Is it too far away in time and space to bother us? Are too many people giving up and resigning themselves to the fact that climate change is inevitable? Is it just so much easier to hold on to the status quo instead of having to make changes to our 21stcentury lifestyles?

How long can we afford to keep saying that this isn't happening?

Change is hard until it hits hard... hopefully a few coastal cities having to move inland or spend billions on seawalls will make something click...

Global Warming is Not Global

The following figure compares the Arctic temperature trends with global temperature trends. [ ] Two observations are evident from this graph: the recent Arctic warming is not unprecedented, and the Arctic warming is much greater than the global warming .

Oh well maybe one day I'll enjoy warmer weather.

I have said in the past a few times that I think I should invest in buying farmland in Greenland. It could make my grandchildren rich. How much does it cost an acre (or hectare, if that's your measurement)?

Less a hoax, more of an overreaction with various parties looking to profit.

Yawn , who cares that the above demonstrates the lack of effect due to CO2 in the atmosphere ? Instead let's whine & bellyache instead in a generalized agonized way . Wheee ! What fun !

As long as they keep discovering precious metals in the areas opening up by the melt.

Greenland the next mining destination - Mining.com 19 Sep 2012

Greenland could become the next global mining frontier, as global warming uncovers precious metals from glacial surroundings, states new research by natural resources experts GlobalData, a UK-based global business intelligence provider.

This show has 3 seasons 'in the can', on the Animal Planet, a fourth is TBD.

Ice Cold Gold - Animal planet

Mining and TV ratings may occlude GW concerns. Could Greenland benefit from a epoch meltdown?
