Are Evangelicals Christ Like?

Jesus did not speak his parables in "Tongues", nor did he pray in "Tongues" to His GOD! Evil-Genitals do!

Jesus did not HATE the poor, or, chastise them for being poor. Evil-genitals do!

Jesus didn't extol his followers to take up arms against the "Evil Government". Evil-Genitals do!

Jesus did not ask his followers to cast their votes as he ordered them to do. Evil-Genitals do!

Jesus did not condemn prostitutes, entertainers, or, Liberals. Evil-Genitals Do.

Evangelicals Are Not Christ-Like!

When they speak in "Tongues," who are they communicating with? The Devil?

320

Jesus did not address his followers in "Tongues," he spoke in parables.

Why do Evangelicals call themselves "Christians," when their principles are derived mostly from the Old Testament, which Jesus came to change.

We No Longer Stone Women accused of adultery.

Nor do we promote the concept of an Eye For An Eye.

Wives are no longer required to walk three paces behind their husband, nor, divorce merely by the husband repeating the phrase three times, "I divorce you. I divorce you. I divorce you." Then, sent off with nothing from that marriage.

In the Old Testament soldiers were instructed to kill their enemies, including the women, children, and grandparents.

It seems to this humbled by the years' observer, that Televangelists have co-opted the Teaching of Jesus for their own financial gain.

320

Humanity is gifted with "Free Will," it is not a license to do as one please, regardless of how it affects others. It means that we have the ability to make choices, not blindly follow those who tell us that they miraculously KNOW THE MIND OF GOD.

He might have been nothing more than a fairytale. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it. We respect their beliefs because we respect religious freedom. As long as they are happy with their beliefs that’s really all that matters.

Does that apply to Muslims as well?

Evangelicals are not a religious group, any more. They have become a very aggressive political organization that uses their religious status to avoid paying taxes while they lobby the Trump Administration to change the law that prohibits churches from becoming  politicized.

Trump signed an Executive Order to reserve that long standing prohibition. Pence is pushing the "Freedom of Religion Act" which allows businesses to discriminate against anyone they feel violates their religious beliefs.

Such a bill was passed in Indiana while Pence was Governor. It targeted "gays folks" and makes it legal for business owners to discriminate against them.

Something is radically wrong with this group of RELIGIOUS ZEALOTS!

Dean Moriarty, in the late 70's the Evangelical Movement instructed it members to run for School Boards, local public office, state and national office with the express view that they wanted to bring their brand of "Christianity" to the public by controlling the election process.

I would encourage you to seat down with a diehard, Talking-In-Tongue Evangelical and have a discussion about their beliefs.

What I am now, your historian? Do your own research! You won't believe anything unless it reaffirms your already assumed position.

Evangelicals are weekly manipulated by their multi-million dollars televangelists.  They were politicized by hard core Christians angry with President Carter because he would not endorse their movement to put Christ back in Government.

Try Conservative Christians Organizations in the Deep South on WikiLeaks.

The problem, Dean, is not "Religious Freedom", it is the Evangelical Movement that is forcing their unchristian views into public policy by electing only Evangelicals like Pence, and, several of the Tex-ass and Southern Anti-Climatic, Anti-Science-Anti-Evolution Republican politicians that are hateful, religious extremists who believe that America was founded as a Christian Nation.Separation of Church Hate.jpg

I’m not sure how they can separate their beliefs from their work it’s just part of who they are. It’s like Truman thanking God for the Atom bomb. Even if he didn’t publicly admit it he still would have held his beliefs and acted on what he believed in.

It is known, in some circle as "Commonsense", in others, as "respect for the rights of others and much as one respects their own rights".

No, we respect their right to be superstitious.   Their particular beliefs do not per se deserve any respect at all.

Ouch, that is uncharitable. Ones religious beliefs are just that belief systems that are often not rooted in fact, reality, or, common sense.

However, for many, they do serve as a moral compass for many.

The problem with this Evangelical, Talking-In-Tongue movement is that it has crossed over into the realm of politics blurring the line of  Separation of Church and State.

Evangelicals, Born Upside Down, and Backwards are pushing for public schools to teach "The Bible" in their classrooms from the pulpits in violation of the constitution and common sense.

What Bible are they proposing to be taught? The King's James Verison, assembled under a "Gay King". The Catholic Church's version, the Jewish Bible, the Bible of Latter Day Saints, the Bible of Tom Cruise's Scientologists, or, the verbalized hate filled bible of backwood Evangelical pastors who came to the "Jesus" after an all-night drunk, face up on the barroom floor.

Humanities religions have killed more folks than all the world wars.

Churches have to decide if they are a Political Action Committee or a Church, they cannot be both.256

Evangelicals Are Not Christ Like!

Sweeping statements rooted in bigotry won't educate anyone. Christianity by its very nature is evangelical whether individual communities (churches) call themselves that or not. Even the political term of "Evangelical" to describe some kind of monolithic religious or political ideology is similarly useless. Might as well just say "white people are . . . " or "black people are . . . "

Jesus did not speak his parables in "Tongues", nor did he pray in "Tongues" to His GOD!

He might have. You don't know. The Bible records that Jesus often prayed in private and we have no idea what language he might have been speaking. The speaking in tongues thing is something that was recorded in the book of Acts and other places. It's simply something that happened to a group of people. Whether or not Jesus did it is immaterial. I don't see any reason to be bothered by it. It's not like it's some kind of requirement.

The point of this Epistle is Evangelicals have some crazy ass beliefs that have nothing to do with the teaching of Jesus. The are not CHRISTIANS, or, Christ Like, who they claim to follow.

They are LUNATICS!

They most likely have a different view of Christ’s teachings than your own interpretation. They are free to think as they please. Just as Truman a Democrat felt it was Gods will to bomb innocent women and children.

Dean Moriarty:  I see why Sherlock Holmes was always disrupting your ancestor's evil plots.

Truman said, "thank God we have the bomb"!  He also warned Japan it they did not agree to surrender, America may have no other choice than to use it. Or, words to that effect.

Truman's comments are not the same as what congenital Evil-Genitals are plotting today. That is equivalent to comparing a fire cracker to a NUCLEAR EXPLOSION.

Tacos, your sweeping assumptions about a man who lived, or may not have lived, two thousand years ago are stunning.

"We do not know what Jesus prayed in private" so praying in tongues, shouting to the rafters, falling on the floor in a religious rapture in a public forum is a "Christ-Like" behavior?

Jesus did not ask for money from his followers, nor, did he solicit millions of dollars to build a castle for himself.

Jesus did not preach rebellion. He did not stoke his congregants to stockpile weapons, wear their religion on their sleeve as a badge of honor.

He did not divide the nations of the world into "Have and Have Not".

Jesus was definitely NOT an evangelical, talking in tongues, sleeve wearing Christian. Read the bible, not, let some undereducated backwood preacher man tell you what it says, then, demand 10% of your GROSS INCOME as a tithe.

One must study the scriptures, read religious scholars, understand the "The Good, The Bad & The Ulgy" about organized religion and the impact that it has on civilization.

Our political views are ties, in part, to320 our personal religious teaching.
