Trump Attacks Rihanna Halftime on Failing Truth Social Site
in a devastating turn of events for the singer, Donald Trump announced to the nearly 5 million people following him on Truth Social, his struggling social-media site, that her show was an "EPIC FAIL." Her performance being named the "single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history" by the former president probably came as a shock, as most other reviewers described it as "soaring," "memorable," "stunning," and "AWESOME."

After performing a Super Bowl halftime show and pregnancy announcement so momentous that it briefly took down Twitter, Rihanna was probably feeling pretty good. But in a devastating turn of events for the singer, Donald Trump announced to the nearly 5 million people following him on Truth Social, his struggling social-media site, that her show was an "EPIC FAIL."

Her performance being named the "single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history" by the former president probably came as a shock, as most other reviewers described it as "soaring," "memorable," "stunning," and "AWESOME." But well before she took the stage at Arizona's State Farm Stadium on Sunday night, Rihanna knew Trump would be one of her harshest critics. On Thursday, Trump declared that the nine-time Grammy Award winner and current Academy Award nominee actually has "NO TALENT" in response to a "truth" from that guy who had to withdraw his nomination as Veterans Affairs secretary after he was accused of being drunk on duty and handing out prescription pills like candy.

It seems Ronny Jackson, the disgraced White House physician turned U.S. representative, objected to Rihanna being selected to perform at Super Bowl LVII for purely political reasons. He referenced a series of photos Rihanna shared on Instagram in 2020 that appeared to show her spray-painting "FUCK TRUMP" on a truck.

The musician and billionaire businesswomancriticized Trump throughout his administration, and in 2018 her performing-rights company blocked Trump's campaign from using her music at his rallies. But Trump's remarks suggest he wasn't just sore about Rihanna's many burns or jealous because she has far more Twitter followers than he does (107.9 million) and was never banned for fomenting insurrection. He has a long history of sharing unsolicited opinions about fellow entertainers on social media, and he seemed more focused on Rihanna's artistry, or lack thereof.

Rihanna will surely be crushed by the knowledge that the man she once called the "most mentally ill human being in America" didn't like her performance. We can only hope that she hasn't heard the news yet, as it often takes a while for screenshots of Trump's Truth Social posts to reach the general public.

If you thought we were past ridiculousness with him, think again.

It appears he attacked Rihanna's performance last night precisely because she once called him "the most mentally ill man in America", that was a few years ago.

So he waited until the right opportunity came to get his "revenge" lol.

There is your ultimate snowflake.

No John, It was most likely because she grabbed her crotch on national television.

So did Michael Jackson.... 30 years ago.

Anyway, according to Trump himself, he likes to grab crotches and brags about it.

He never did anything like that on national tv, but there is a president who groped people, if you want to go there.

THIS is how an ex-President should spend his time: critiquing football half-time entertainment.

My daughter thinks she is the bomb. I think she's alright, but this was hardly the worst show ever. Even if you don't like her music, the dancing was really good.

I don't listen to her music, but she totally impressed me with her role in the movie Battleship.  I didn't even realize it was her until I read the credits.

Free speech can be a bitch when you disagree with it.

Myself, the show was at least marginally entertaining and not nearly the worst I’ve ever seen.    That said, I could care less what Trump thinks of a SB halftime show but he is entitled to his opinion.

I worry more about our current POTUS hiding from Chinese balloons in his basement.

It was an excellent half-time show. Sure, the grinding dance moves and 'twerking' scenes were not for the 'aged' and modest members of society (most of us/them anyway)—maybe not even for the 'wholesome' family viewers raising small children who want a 'simpler time' presentation tailored to their quiet, tranquil existences. . . but, that is not the way of a SUPERSTAR in an industry where the competition is Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter and a host of other A-List professionals.

No, a newly pregnant woman, being sexually suggestive, in her performances is not everyone's preference (unless one is "into" that sort of thing - pregnant women "moves" I mean), but this is Rihanna- a Superstar who has the most amazing repertoire and it ranges from serene to provocative to vulgar - all with one 'helluva' groove! And so if you are alive you will move to it; smile, and even remember it.  Afterwards, the (guilty) judgemental "in my opinion" voice can kick in. (Sigh.)

The Superbowl is a business. It's halftime shows competes to be a SPECTACLE  that is memorably to the youth-that buy tickets to concerts enmasse. That is the 'angle' (and the 'promise') for the halt-time entertainment is not paid for their time.

Note: I was confused the entire presentation about Rihanna's physical appearance, that is her "paunch."  I thought it was the residual fat or lapse from her baby, the one I heard about. I had no idea until I watched (remarkably) the late night newscast and a sport's aficionado who is a deep Rihanna fan it turns out mentioned she is pregnant again! :) I was thinking during the live presentation that she could have benefited from a personal trainer which I knew a woman of her stature could afford! Now, I understand better. :)

I loved the moving displays. That was 'AMAZING.' And I loved it that they took safety seriously and used straps, so as I could watch their performances and breath easily at the same time! A Plus!

The Super Bowl has become way too "woke" and PC for my tastes. So I recorded it and will watch the football and commercials at leisure...knowing the outcome.

Seen one SB halftime show...you've seen them all.

My 2 cents.

Personally, I enjoyed it. I thought the floating platforms were great, and she has some great music and a beautiful voice.  Her music is not my "go to" choice, but damned if I don't know all of the songs she sang.

I admit I could have done without the crotch grabbing and the bent over, ass slapping in a super bowl show. Time and place. At one of her concerts? Get after it. Super Bowl half-time? Her voice and the dancing spoke loudly enough, and I don't think those things added value at that performance. Does that make it the worst ever? Hardly. Hell, people were pissed off last year, with Snoop, Dre, etc. Give me a break.

As an aside, MCU fan or not, if you haven't seen Black Panther-Wakanda Forever, it's worth a watch, if nothing more than to see the final scene. That's all I'll say on that. I don't want to spoil it; although, the nerd in me has a hard time believing not everyone has seen it.

Just for a point of clarfication:

However, lip-syncing isn’t the con it’s cracked up to be: In line with NFL policy, halftime performers’ rehearsals are prerecorded live, so they can sing over it as much or as little as they like as a musical safety net. Many singers opt for the former, so they can devote their energy to the oft-taxing choreographed routine.

Besides: 1. She is not being paid to perform. 2. We know she is the *star* performer of the songs. Thus, we know (1) She can sing and the quality (or lack) that of of her voice.  3. The NFL accepts that with so many moving parts, some 'give' is helpful and may be essential.

Now, how many of us can sing (at peak levels) at all?

She wasn't paid for her performance at the Super Bowl.

Rihanna   followed in the footsteps of Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, and more when she performed at the Super Bowl halftime show, but you might be surprised to know she won't actually take home a paycheck for it.

But before you're tempted to play ref and throw a flag, here's an interesting stat:   No one   gets paid for performing at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Super Bowl 2023 gets 113 million viewers for Fox Sports, most in six years

Super Bowl 2023 delivered in spades for Fox Sports.

The network announced Monday that the game drew an average of 113 million viewers across TV (Fox and Fox Deportes) and streaming, the highest audience for the Super Bowl since 2017.

In its release, Fox disclosed that this is the preliminary measurement using Nielsen’s fast national data combined with Adobe Analytics. The final number will be available Tuesday.

Fox said the halftime show starring Rihanna averaged 118.7 million viewers, the most-watched halftime show since Katy Perry in 2015, and second-highest ever .

The top 10 markets were Kansas City, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Norfolk, Charlotte, Minneapolis and St. Louis. Kansas City had a whopping 52.0 rating and 87 share.

Last year’s Super Bowl, which featured the Rams defeating the Bengals, averaged 112.3 million viewers across NBC’s TV and streaming platforms.

That's why stars perform 'good-will' shows, because the 'returns' are new fans, high exposure, viral videos, "water-cooler" discussions, and lest I, we forget: TICKET SALES !!!

Rihanna’s FULL Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show

Let's put a floor under this discussion. Here is the 'excitement.'  Well, of course, click the link because the NFL is In-Charge of this proprietary rights 'stuff.'  Then, report back with your 'views.'

BTW, it is diversity (freedom) which permits us to have something to discuss either up or down as the case may be. Long live diversity in attitudes and spirit! Moreover, did Rihanna pull a fast one by surprising 'everybody' with this public announcement of her pregnancy? Is it a 'historic' Super Bowl moment for pregnant women?  Wow!

Before we go. This is what Ri' did in a mere instance ( "Rude Boy" portion) that caused this reporter to well, 'Report!"

1. original      2.  original

original

1. *Crotching.  2. Smelling fingers* (without a doubt!) This cameo does not illustrate the minute second that she actually was hovering over her nose. 3. *Winking*. All in less than 'seconds' at the transition to the next song in the series.  Was it necessary for her performance. You be the judge.

Okay, I will judge too! No! Ri' it was uncalled for. I went to watch the ' Rude Boy ' this sniff maneuver is not in the original video version of the song!

It was indecent and now I have to wonder did Ri' include that 'maneuver in the night's rehearsal for marking this 'close up' of her crotching; smelling, and winking? I wonder.

She did it. It was deliberate. Why I don't know. If minors saw it, because in Ri' case we are watching the 'Lady in Red' every move, then I am embarrassed for her .

She disrespected herself; her audience, the Super Bowl, the international community, and last but most important: the baby in her womb.

Too harsh? I can't say that I am. Because she is touching her clothes there is no discernible odor that she is receiving, so why mimic such a  highly suggestive move.

Now tell me: Did Rihanna COMPROMISE you with this move?!  No Pass from me for that 'stunt.'

Saving grace: It was a single mere two seconds at the most in the show.  (See 13:49-13:50 in the video at Comment 12 above.) Look away and you miss it or looking at the dancers you miss it. (I missed it during the show looking at all the performers in that instance.)

Ironically. I had planned to 'blast' MSN for sharing this article on their server:

AA13u4Fa.img?w=36&h=36&q=60&m=6&f=png&u=t Rihanna grabs crotch, smells fingers during Super Bowl halftime show: ‘Stay classy!’
Story by Brooke Steinberg

But, I decided to take a repeat look and well, I can't abide this one. It's just so unnecessary as 'footage'! In a word: Scandalous !

I am pretty sure there were some who caught that 'behavior' and who had to do an ablution (wash clean) afterwards and immediately say a prayer. Super Bowl Half-time need not cause all this ceremony.
