The CEO of AMC Theatres was forced to clarify on Twitter that the chain was in no way suppressing the film Sound of Freedom , a film centered on child sex trafficking, after wild internet theories spread.

Since the films release, online speculation has led many to believe theatre chains like AMC are making it difficult, if not impossible for moviegoers to see the film. This included canceled showings, broken air conditioners in the screening rooms, and numerous technical difficulties.

It's never been this difficult to see a film in theaters. Sound of Freedom has Hollywood spooked. pic.twitter.com/7IwaKnpve5

So many shenanigans happening with these theaters regarding Sound Of Freedom pic.twitter.com/03u0o8ztEA

I keep seeing these videos. They do not want people to watch #SoundOfFreedom. So obvious about it as well. Either the AC is out and the lights remain on, or there is technical difficulties with the film. pic.twitter.com/jBFkqUc64h

This led many to believe that the theatre chains may have been trying to prevent the damning realities of child sex trafficking from being seen. Despite these claims, the film has done rather well in the weeks since it premiered, raking in over $40 million dollars.

But the rumors, which have run rampant, have forced the films creators and even the CEO of AMC Theatres Adam Aron to speak out about the conspiracy.

Sadly, conspiracy theorists are so prevalent in America. So much garbage information is spread. More than ONE MILLION people have watched Sound of Freedom at AMC Theatres. More than at any other theatre chain on the planet. Yet people falsely claim otherwise. It is so bizarre.

"Sadly, conspiracy theorists are so prevalent in America," Aron tweeted Wednesday night.

"So much garbage information is spread. More than ONE MILLION people have watched Sound of Freedom at AMC Theatres. More than at any other theatre chain on the planet. Yet people falsely claim otherwise. It is so bizarre," Aron wrote.

Even the films creators have spoken out about the conspiracy, telling Newsweek magazine that AMC and other theatre houses have been "wonderful to work with."

A chain of movie theaters would sabotage their own screenings, thus losing MONEY.

 ROFL.

We say the right is nuts with conspiracy theories, but that isnt even the half of it.

Three shows today at my local AMC. Five shows each, tomorrow and Saturday. Four more shows on Sunday. These whiners are full of shit.

Now, there are more showings of the latest Spider-Man movie, but there’s a good reason for that.

Weird how some folk just love to feel persecuted.

It's playing all over Central Florida, and in Ocala, there are two movie chains showing it currently.

More nonsensical BS from the conspiracy nuts.

AMC isn't suppressing anything.

They allow their theatres to be run like shit is all.

In my little town we have no theater. Closest one is a hour away. If we want to watch a movie, we stream it on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Paramount Plus. Or you can go across into Mexico right on the Mexican side on the border. A lot cheaper that way.

I was baffled why anyone would be interested in discouraging someone from seeing this movie, so I had to do a little research. Apparently the star has done some interviews on pretty fringe conservative podcasts saying some things the QAnon crowd likes.

Whatever.

None of that appears to be part of the movie. So some reviewers (see: Rolling Stone) have been distracted by the things the Star has said, and they can’t focus on an objective movie review. In response, some in the conservative audience are reacting with the “they don’t want you to see this movie” paranoia, which I believe has been trademarked by Tucker Carlson.

Regardless, I see no evidence that AMC is trying to block the movie, nor can I fathom why they would when they’re making so much money off the thing.
