"2024 is our final battle," Trump said. "With you at my side, we will demolish the Deep State, we will expel the warmongers from our government, we will drive out the globalists, we will cast out the Communists, Marxists, and Fascists, we will throw off the sick political class that hates our country, we will rout the fake news media, we will defeat Joe Biden, and we will end illegal immigration once and for all."

"2024 is our final battle,"

Apocalyptic, desperate, do or die, or kill ?

"With you at my side, we will demolish the Deep State

No one can explain with any specificity what the "deep state" allegedly is. There is good reason to believe that Trump thinks the deep state is anyone in government who disagrees with him.

we will expel the warmongers from our government,

There have been American elites who have been willing to go to war since the beginning of the republic. Usually to advance the ruling class economic interests. Trump has no desire to fight that power that be.

we will drive out the globalists

Isolationism has never worked for America, or succeeded in keeping us aloof from the rest of the world. Its not going to work in an era (permanent) of worldwide instantaneous communication either.

we will cast out the Communists, Marxists, and Fascists

Trump has become transfixed on referring to other Americans as communists , marxists , and fascists. Its still not clear that he knows what any of those words mean, but he knows they have a visceral, instinctive, tribal, appeal to MAGA's. The new red scare.

we will throw off the sick political class that hates our country

Hating America is not really a thing we see expressed much nowadays. Trump thinks Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren hate America.

we will rout the fake news media

I guess this means he's going to take down Fox News and his own Truth Social,  but are his fans ready for that?

we will defeat Joe Biden

No need to comment here I suppose.

we will end illegal immigration once and for all.

The only thing that might end illegal immigration is a comprehensive immigration reform bill passed , through compromise, in Congress.

So what kind of people cheer for Trump's pledge?

I see a disturbing amount of irrational thinking regarding Trump.

“Frightening…”

Indeed, for it numbers in the millions…even with all the indictments and worse, with his own words. It is unbelievable.

This cringeworthy stuff is hard to watch.  That guy was caught so off guard when the interviewer gave him multiple answers to a question he thought the interviewer would have zero answers for.  The prime characteristic required to be MAGA is shameless pride in your own glaring knowledge deficits.

This was an example of a voter running on pure emotion.   He believes certain things yet has not used his brain to consider the facts and objectively reach a conclusion.   He just feels and adopts the positions of his trusted sources.

It is lazy, pathetic, and damaging to our nation as evidenced by the fact that the GOP is going to nominate Trump for president.

Does Trump sound too much like a Democrat?  Democrats don't hold the trademark on fearmongering and doomsaying, after all.  (Remember, Trump was a darling of Democrats at one time.  Democrats love rich people.)

Trump only needs a podium at some backwater venue.  Trump doesn't need the political theater of Independence Hall as backdrop, with menacing lighting, and flanked by Marines in dress uniforms.

The biggest worry by the left is that Trump ain't attacking main street.  Trump is attacking government.  And the left would be completely powerless without government.

Trump is attacking government.

Trump sounds like the "supreme leader" in a science fiction movie about a future dystopian fascist dictatorship. Wake up.

Trump sounds more like Qui-Gon Jinn.    320

Someone else sounds more like Emperor Sheev Palpatine.    384

“Trump is attacking government…”

No, he is attacking the fundamental freedoms and rights that define our country in his specious, unfounded and self serving narcissism.

That some continue to dismiss his transgressions is the most frightening thing of all.

Are you talking about our second amendment rights, our freedom of religion our freedom of speech. Oh wait those are some of the rights and  freedoms the left attacks and wants to do away with

Trump has never been "a darling" of this Democrat.  To me, he's always been scum, but that was a nice broad brush you tried to paint with.

He actually could end illegal immigration but nobody is sneaking into North Korea either.
